My cat had a growth removed from its lower back. To prevent licking, the vet recommended a e-collar. Cat instead wore strappy dresses in 100% cotton brodie anglaise fabric (cool and light) which covered the lesion till it healed.

Another cat (skin fragility syndrome) had lesions on its sides-its elbows bruised its sides. It was hard to keep bandage on as it kept slipping towards the smallest part of the body. Cat wore light dresses with padding of varying thicknesses-from gauze to pads-attached on wrong side at the sides till cat's end.

Anyone wants draft for dress, i will be happy to share. My cats did not like the "dress" but it has its uses ;)

You and Bujang look very nice in the jumper. :)

That's a great way to use a dress, Anonymous!

If you have time, custom made e-collars. Suitable transparent plastic is $7-8 a metre-you need 1.5 m for 3 collars. I hand-stitch with stilletto & nylon string on overlapping edges to form the cone. Line neck edge with terry towelling & attach loops made of cotton fabric-matching colours!
That way you won't have the plastic loops sticking into cat's neck. It takes time but worth the effort for cats wearing e-collar for a long time.

  6. Wah..more and more useful tips. Do you have a picture. I'm sure there are people who might want to see this. I for one am very curious. Your cats must be very into the fashion :)

I think one of these days Megat might have to wear one of these handmade dresses too...:(

i hv pics on digital camera, but no idea how to download to computer;( BTW, my 15yr old Pom-X wears a light pjdress to sleep-to keep mosquitoes off her rather bald back. If air-con on, Pom wears a thicker pjdress ;) Neck, armholes and lower edge-use knit fabric to have close fit.
