The Calm After...

zzz...finally

Ms Akira grooming herself to calmness after the big Cat Skirmish just 5 minutes before...

The Storm...

The villian...
The heroine...
Ms Akira was very agitated and fought with her rug after being chased by Tanaka in the living room...
She rolled on it...
And stomped on it...
And bit it...
and then decided to...
take a break...
She groomed herself to calmness...

I heard a great battle being fought in the living room. Hissed flew and screams broke the still morning air. Then a blur of white entered the computer room followed by a dizzying flash of orange. I yelled a battle-cry and they both stopped. So I immediately told the orange flash to get out of the room and incarcerated him in my room. The white blur sat on her chair and told me the story of the big fight. I advised her to write it all down and we would discuss the damges later. The white blur agreed and settled down to sleep.

What Will Saturday Bring...

Maybe a walk in the morning instead as the sun is out...maybe...
Maybe I could get into more shenanigans...hmmm...

Saturday Sanctuary

A cool high place is always a treasured find...
If you know what I mean...
zzz...

This morning Ms Akira decided that she wanted to sit on top of the fridge in the kitchen and so the computer room was open for the boys to snoop in. Toro immediately jumped onto the cupboard and took over. Now that his fur is short, he can jump onto any place with guaranteed results :)

I opened the top window a little so he would get better ventilation and can smell what is happening outside without the anxiety of being outside.

Family on Friday

The girls decided on quiet time together...

Freaky Friday

Bujang got mad at being accidentally locked up in the computer room. He made his feelings known very dramatically...
Once he was 'rescued', he calmed down and the boys held a pow-wow together...

Waiting out the rain

Bujang found comfort in cardboard box that he has yet to decimate...
Ms Akira slept in her ivory tower :)
Megat rested after an exhausting game of chase-the-paper...
Tanaka told me that he would inspect the cloth rug and tell me his findings...too much cat hair
Toro just decided to nap with grandma...

And this was how we spent our Thursday here :)

Megat at play

Megat found some paper and decided to have some fun with it...

This is our first video of Megat having fun and playing by himself...

Megat's confidence has grown tremendously from the 1st time he came to live with us. Now he is BOSS of his own territory, he is first to dinner and he in almost any place that he wants to, even on Bujang's blankets. He learnt to play about 5 to 6 months after he lived with us and these days,Megat would even find his own toys to play with. The boys would leave him alone when he plays by himself although these days he loves to chase the boys about in the evening and they him so we would have quite a noisy game of cat chase:) This is the cat who has FIV, survived lymphoma and has asthma. Not bad for a 14-year old kitty!

Our Apologies

This san..she is worse than me..and it is _I_ who have asthma...

We apologise for posting our entries one day last these past weeks... san has been purty busy at work and so she sometimes takes the pictures but does not get to post them immediately. But she told me that she would try harder as she is not the one who is sick :) I am sick but I am always the first to go to dinner, the first to wake up so I can have breakfast, the first to get up on the table so I can be the one who drinks irst from the water bowl and also the first one to sit with san so she can brush my fur. If i can do this, san should do better too.

Our Wet Thursday Walk

Bujang began the walk running after pigeons...he enjoyed this the most...
When the pigeons flew, he decided to take a longer walk and looked about (for Minah probably)
and I found a pigeon feather for the boys. Toro immediately picked it up and hid it from everyone in grandma's room. I have yet to find it. I know he was playing with it and fought with it yesterday but it has since disappeared. One of these days, I would find Toro's stash of toys and thingamajigs I'm sure.

Bujang also found a ten-cent coin but we left it alone as none of the kitties would know what to do with it. Bujang agreed with me :)

A little lizard was watching us, immobile. He looked very friendly but I was not too sure what Bujang would think and so didn't introduce them :)

Then he backtracked and told the pigeons to hang out with him...

Unfortunately they were not in the least bit interested to get to know a cat....

So Bujang spent his time eating the green juicy grass...
And trekked a little...
on and on...
before settling on his giant scratch board :)
Then we went home.

It has been raining for the past weeks, not large downpours but it in several short bursts. So the days have been rather cool and the grass greener as the days pass. Bujang was able to eat the rather juicy-looking grass which he enjoys. We came downstairs for 2 days this week and Bujang has been behaving himself very well. He hardly complains. So grandma and Cousin R have been very surprised by such behaviour.

It was only in the last year or two that Bujang has been very vocal, complaining at every turn about everything. For the past 3 years of his time with us, he has been very quiet. My take on that is that he thinks he needs to be more vocal as now there are 3 more cats. It used to be only him and Ms Akira before.

My bruffer and I

Ms Akira sits quite companionably with her brother Bujang, looking at the world outside...
The two of them hanging out quite easiy together...
No Fear!
Sometimes she gives way to Bujang...
Quiet Time together...

When I see them sitting quietly together, I sometimes wonder why I ever had 5 as Ms Akira does not like any other cat but Bujang. When she first came, Bujang was about 6 months old and she, a mere 4 month old kitty and so they spent quite a long time together, playing and grooming. It was only when Bujang was about 1.5 years old, that I had Totoro with me and from then on, Ms Akira decided to wage war on him as he was himself a rather naughty kitty, running after her all the time.

Now Ms Akira spends most of her time in the computer room by herself as she allows no one but Bujang to come in. She does come out sometimes when we put all the boys in the room in the afternoons so she could get a breather and of course every night at ten, when all the boys are preparing for bed.

But I have 5 cats now and I love each one dearly :) If only I can find a way to stop Tanaka from being so inquisitive, everything would be much calmer in her world :)

What is going on here?

Bujang spent the whole of Monday being quiet...

Something strange is happening to Bujang. He spent the whole of Monday being quiet, although he did look at me some of the time when I got home from work. But as I got home about 6.30 pm yesterday, he did not get a chance to walk, not even along the corridor as there would be quite a number of people about and Bujang does not like people.

He has also decided to eat under the table or on the floor instead of on the dryer. He would always get food first wherever he is so I do not know why he has suddenly decided to eat with the rest of the kitties, on the kitchen floor. He would sit quietly and wait for his dinner which will come immediately of course and then all the rest of the boys would get theirs.

This has been happening for the last 2 weeks intermittently so it leaves me to wonder why the sudden change in his behaviour, unless it is a ploy to eat up everyone's food right off their plates :) which seems likely.

Goodnight Sunday

I was quite surprised that Bujang did not yell nor run to the door every time it was opened today. Neither did he look at me with his laser eyes asking for walks. Instead he spent the whole afternoon asleep on this couch and then the rest of the time grooming himself. I do not know what came over him today that he was very calm but I am not complaining.

The next week would be quite busy for me and so Bujang may have to yell for quite a bit.

Easy Peasy Sunday

But grooming duties will go on...

Our New Cat Tree

What's this? What's this?
What's this?

The boys sniffed at the new cat tree suspiciously but didn't try to scratch it. I bought this new one as our old one is ratty and unstable. Also I thought one of them (Tanaka) might be adventurous enough to use the rather nifty seats to sleep on but as yet no one had tried them.

So I put a treat on each seat just to encourage them to be curious but they just tried to get the treats without getting onto the seats :). Oh well...it will happen some time...

At least Ms Akira was unafraid to use the new scratching post :)

Lazy Sunday

A Cat Asleep on Friday

Bujnag asleep after his very short 15 minute walk. I think he is happy :
