Sunday Vibes

Sunday is always a lazy day in our house. San thought she would take our Sunday  morning pictures for today’s post. As I am the oldest, naturally my picture should be first. After breakfast I thought I should see what my neighbourhood was up to. It’s not often that I even sit here as it’s does not get much breeze but it allows us to see a lot more of the neighbourhood.
This is Mo’s favourite seat. It’s the highest one and she sits here all day. She sleeps undisturbed but she disturbs everyone when she meows in her sleep. San does not know why she meows in her sleep a lot. San thinks it’s Mo dreaming of things. But she would usually stop meowing when san calls her name. Then she begins again.
Manju likes to spend his time under the cat bed. He is a funny little brother. No one knows why he does this as well. Today will be one of those hot days. I hope he gets out from under her soon.
I thought it’s good to have a picture of me (since I am the new boss) with san. I sit with san right after breakfast and we spend about an hour together. This only happens when san is not at school. Today is Sunday and san is on a school break as well. We sit quietly and watch some videos of gardens and parks (for me) and cdrama (for san).
Have a good Sunday everyone.

Sunday Tales with MM

San said it would be nice to see how much I have grown since I came to live with her on the 2nd of Nov 2023. She brought me home from downstairs. Some commcat caregivers told her that they had heard a kitten meowing in the drain  for about a week. So san and auntie went to investigate. Auntie brought me home without a carrier. I just decided to keep quiet and she held me in her arms. I thought it would be a wise move as I didn’t want to scare anyone with bad behaviour.

The first pic was of me when I came home. San put me in a small room so I could get used to the house. I decided that this was where I wanted to live and sat here to see what else would happen. As you can see I already had an attitude that day and on the 12 of November I decided that I was safe enough to sit on the scratcher with great confidence. After a few days she brought me to the vet.
This was my vet. His name is Atticus. San thought it was a good name and thought he did Atticus from ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ proud. He was gentle and told san I was ok and they did all the admin and vaccinations on the day itself.
At first Momo didn’t like me but later we became best buds and we had a great time chasing each other. My sister Sky also played with me and finally Momo and Sky became friends as well. San said I was the reason that the 2 girls became friends and Sky was no longer lonely.
San realised that this was my favourite position when it comes to sleep. I can sleep anywhere like this. She thought it was funny and many of her friends thought so as well.

However, I have not gotten used to thunder and rain and this morning I slept in the bedlinen cupboard where it was safe.
I am not always so scared though. I now am a little better and would only hide when I hear thunder. I can now sit outside when there is only rain as rain is outside of my house. I do not know where thunder comes from.

That’s all from me today. An ordinary cat living a very ordinary life. ❤️

Sunday Lazy Day.

These days I keep a low profile. I try to eat what san gives me but I sometimes find it a little boring to eat the same food all the time. But the good news is that I seem to have put on weight. San has not weighed me so she doesn’t know for sure but I seem more heavy to carry. I have to eat the B2 every day but as I do not like it so much san is giving it to me 3 times a week only. I can tolerate it more that way.

I now watch the parrot Cosmo every day. I like it when he sings songs to him Mom. I try to sing songs for san as well and I am glad san thinks I sing very well. She always tells me that I am a good girl.
Nowadays the mornings are cool and when san opens the door, I sit near it. Watching the corridor keeps me quite calm. I asked san where the little people have gone. San said they may have gone away as it’s the school vacation. San asked me if I wanted to go on vacation. I told her that cats don’t care too much for that.
The last picture for today is of Bujang. San said he used to live here and lived to a ripe age of 19. San saw his picture on Facebook and she thought it would be nice to have his pic here. After all , she started this blog for him when he was just a kitten.

That is all the news I have for today. It’s not very interesting   It’s just ordinary news but san said the more ordinary the better. Love you all. :)

Sunday Quiet

This morning san gave us breakfast as soon as she woke up…which was late. We forgave her as it was quite a yummy one. My sister Mo gave san a hard time as she ran about the flat when san wanted to put some transdermal mirtapazine in her ears. But Mo had a good time running. I am not so sure about san. San gave Mo a toy as a reward for the transdermal experience and wanted to show  Mo playing with it but Google won’t allow her to even add the video. It’s a pity as Mo had a cute yellow toy  fish  in her mouth and was carrying  it about.

Manju tried to hide in here when san started to clean the room. He was not all that into housework  san asked him to at least get out of the way which he did

We sat here together looking at the busyness of outside. There was some breeze but it was hot. But at least san did not ask us to move from here.

Mo spent the rest of the time outside.  This is her favourite place to sit when she wanted to look at the Outside. It’s her safe place. She sat here after playing with san and her new fish toy. We didn’t see any of the small people this whole week and even today. San said perhaps they had all gone to lunch and to visit their grandparents. They sometimes stop by and tell san this. We don’t have grandparents ourselves so we don’t know what that is like. San said we should ask the little people when we next see them. Hmmm…perhaps..

San managed to take a pic of Mo and her yellow fish and so I said she should forget about the video and just put he pic as it is. Have a good  Sunday everyone

Who are you kitty?

Last week was very wet and it rained almost everyday . Not with thunder but drizzles. San was very surprised that I braved those days and sat in the living room with my sisters. I even sat by the open door when it rained outside. I walked about and napped easily, not under chairs or in tight corners. I told san that the rain  was outside and I was
safe
inside my own house.

Mother’s Day Sunday

Sky: On Mother’s Day Sunday, San’s sister came to bring back grandma’s propagated jasmine plant.  My grandma passed many years  before I came to live with san. San’s sister had propagated grandma’s jasmine to give to her other sister. So this afternoon, she brought the small jasmine plant home. They also had some time to catch up which was nice.  san said we should all be in the post since it’s Mother's Day.

This is grandma’s jasmine tree. The amigos were all buried under it. The tree is an old one and the branches are bare although it still flowers whenever the weather gets very hot.

This is a picture of my grandma whom I have never met. The corridor  garden was still bare as san and grandma just moved to this flat when she took this picture. San said grandma used to sing whenever she went about doing grandma things. This house was the first one grandma had that truly belonged to her as for a long time grandma and san had lived in rented places. No wonder grandma sang a lot.

We wish everyone a good and blessed Mother’s Day

Oh pfffbhtt!

It took san a very long time to get into our cat block again. After 1001 tries (yes she exaggerates a lot), we are finally in. She has been having trouble with even posting pictures directly and has had to copy and paste our pictures for many moths and when she could not even access this blog she threw up her hands in despair.

But we are glad she is our secretary and we could just tell her to get on with business. We got up early for Sunday because san heard Manju hacking and knew he was going to throw up. She was glad he decided to do that in the bathroom and not on the bed. After that , he had a short rest and we all enjoyed some breakfast. Manju got a little bit of food but we got threats. Yahoo! Then we sat at the open door for the morning breeze  to rest and relax - Sunday style.

We were also curious to see the wild rooster that we heard this morning. San said he is a ‘jungle fowl’ and not the domesticated kind. We told her we don’t know the difference as we’re cats.

This is a picture of the jungle fowl that someone took at Pasir Ris park. We live im Pasir Ris as well but the one who lives downstairs is much smaller. Half his size san said.  It is a pity we won’t be able to see him as we live on a high floor and he comes out only in the morning and only sometimes in the evening.

Sunday Funday

San spent the morning getting the recycling in order and found our very old play tent. So we spent the morning camping. San said we should try camping together but we told her that we’re the solitary camper type.

San bought us this tent some time ago. It was actually sold for people. She tried to get cat tents for us but all of them were too small, for only for kittens. We had a fun time playing for a bit then decided to just hang out.

We were all glad that Sunday was a
fun day for all of us.

It’s the only thing to do San

This was a very busy week at  our house.  San had a mountain of papers to grade. I helped her by sitting on them and told her ‘Give everyone  an A’. San said it was a good thing I was a cat and not a teacher. I told her everyone deserved an A just for turning in work. She gave me a treat and told me to take a nap. I guess she didn’t need my help.

Good news

This week was quite hectic. I didn’t like what had happened in my house. I do not know why san had to bring gerger to my house. San said she was hurt again as she had fought with a newly abandoned grey cat. She had to go to the vet and stayed at a safe house to rest. But the she came back and stayed in my room. Of course I do not need the room anymore as o am a boy cat and san needed me to keep all of us  safe. So at night I banged and rattled the grills and scared her. She yelled and I yelled. San told both of us to be quiet. Then Momo decided she won’t eat and hid in the bedroom all day. So san decided that gerger should live with a foster first. But even I am happy to say that her primary caregiver decided to give her a home and she would not have to live in the carpark anymore. We are all happy for her, me most of all.

Easy Peasy Sunday

We have had a busy week but we told san to rest for a bit. She had to bring Momo to the vet again as Momo ate very little. Sure enough Momo lost 100 gm in a week. The vet asked her many questions about Momo and they left the vet with a new diet, vitamins , antibiotics and mirtapazine. The good thing was Momo’s kidney values were much better. San was very pleased with that. I had a good week and san gave me my spider plant again. San said it was out of rehab and so I had some crunchies and enjoyed watching the sun.

My sister Skywalker is healthy and eats well. She helped san take care of the house when Momo had to go to the vet. She makes sure that we are all well.

Sunday Peace

Today I decided to take my share of rest time which means the whole day. I only woke up for breakfast and a little bit lunch. We have many visitors yesterday as it was Eid. Since san was busy, I had to play the good host and made sure everyone was comfortable. Momo was a good helper but Manju spent the time hiding out as he didn’t like noise. I enjoyed myself very much as our house is usually quiet but yesterday it was very festive. I wonder when we would have so many visitors again.

Oh what a week!

We had quite an exciting week - for us at least. Our some-time guest GG (Gegirl) had to stay with us last Friday. She was in a cat fight over food with a newly abandoned kitty. San said it will be Eid soon and in Singapore, the abandonment of pets would usually happen. No matter what the celebration. GG  had 2 holes on her rear and san brought her up. Momo didn’t like it too much and Manju was afraid yet curious. You can see Gg looking at us from behind the gates. She stayed in Manju’s room for the night. San also asked for an FIV/FeLV test from the vet in case she needs to  find a new situation for her. We are glad to report she is negative for both.

San also had to do an online course for First Aid before she actually attends it face to face. So live is a little hectic. But I , Sky took everything in my stride and kept order in the house.

Sunday Quiet

Momo was angry and fearful yesterday but she still came out from under the couch to stare at some repairmen in the house. She was very cross and didn’t move from her ca seat. Sky on the other hand was very hospitable and curious about the tools in the house. She examined each one carefully and even said hello to the repairmen. Manju was nowhere to be seen as usual. He is afraid of many things even after living here for at least 2 plus years.

Manju loves his sister Momo and sits with her at the window every morning on the weekends. They wait for birds to sit outside the window and chat at them every chance they get.

Weekend vibes

Saturday is always a good day when San is home. We had all the windows open, and we felt the cool breeze . San was happy because our brother Manju is doing well, and things finally seem to be settling down.

We each sat at our usual windows, watching the day outside while San did her chores. We’ve learned that if she sees us looking very interested in what’s going on outside, she’s less likely to ask us to help.

It’s been a good week for all three of us. Manju even managed to get some of his old food back. He told Chris the new diet and the wet food tasted funny and that he was completely fine now — so he should really go back to his old food.

He might be a little silly if he thinks San believed that completely. San had a good laugh.

It’s not all bad

We have had some rather difficult days. My brother Manju decided that his new diet was absolutely not to his liking and, in protest, sometimes refused to eat it. The vet gave him an appetite stimulant to encourage him to reconsider his position. After a day or two, he managed to accept the arrangement — but only when San  mixed it with some of Momo’s biscuits and a bit of wet food. He is very dramatic as you can see from his pose.

San is also trying to work out the best way to deal with his nails. She has ordered a new set of nail clippers and a swaddle cloth. I do not think this will go smoothly, but I shall be supervising the entire operation very closely.

San was relieved that Momo was not troubled by any of this and carried on with her usual important activities. I, meanwhile, have been making an effort to be extra nice to San. This morning I even spent some quality time with her and graciously allowed her to take my picture for posting.

Apart from my brother’s culinary objections, Momo and I have had a perfectly good week

Hopeful New Year

We hope the horse brings us good things especially for our brother Manju. He went to the vet again yesterday as he threw up three times. He got crazy mad and didn’t let  the vet help him at all.  San said perhaps his trauma from the stool sample incident made him behave like that as he was always calm before. San had Chris talk to him and he told Chris that he likes female vets as he is used to being around women (us included). So san will bring him to see Dr S, his old vet if things still do not improve for him. Manju now has the reputation of being ‘Just like Bujang but more fierce!’ San doesn’t think this is a good thing but we shall see.

What’s that san?

This morning we had a late breakfast as san decided she needed more sleep. She has cleaned all the bins and disinfected all our water bowls and fountains after breakfast san opened the door for us. We heard some strange sounds outside and decided to investigate. There was a big pigeon sitting on the balcony and hidden behind our plants. We just looked and chattered to it but it didn’t reply. How rude!

Friday with Manju

San said it was time for a change of diet - something high fibre would  have to do. I had not gotten over what was ailing me and my digestive problems seemed much the same. The vet called and told her the stool test results were unremarkable.  San seemed pleased. The vet recommended an abdominal scan but san told him I needed a rest from such things. I was very pleased with san and decided to show her my happy dance.

Manju The Gangsta Boy II

Manju had to go to the vet last Friday after his digestive system went completely haywire. At one point, he went three times and left puddles in every bin.

The vet took blood and stool samples. San said he screamed and roared—and managed to draw blood from two nurses. The humans in the waiting area were thoroughly shocked.

Manju then growled at San for daring to take him to the vet and didn’t stop until he was back home and had a very thorough wipe-down.

The next day, he was more relaxed and sat outside with san and us for a bit. He even showed interest in the corridor garden. The vet had just given him deworming tablet and told san that he didn’t need anything else as his stool was firm with just a little wet tip. He was on the mend when san brought him to the vet.

But we told san that we were grateful that we live inside and that she was worried enough to send him to the vet just to be safe

By the way, the vet now calls him Gangsta Boy II after Bujang.

Sunday Games…zzz

San tried to take our Sunday pictures this morning. We showed her our true faces. She had been watching GOT, eight years after it came out (or some such thing) when she was on medical leave. We think she got through Series 3 before she got a little confused with the many houses. It is a good thing we have only ONE house - The House of Cats.

There was a little commotion along the corridor when the Little People passed by our house. They spoke loudly. Momo tried to stare them into silence to no avail. I, Ser Mizu decided to relax on my watchtower and I pretended  to be alert but I was actually much too sleepy. Ser Skywalker of course didn’t try and she is always true to herself. She continued to nap during the commotion.

I told san she should just watch plant videos when she is not well and leave GOT alone. She said she would watch until the dragons fly. I sometimes think humans do not know what is good for  them. Hmmm…

Finally

San had a hard time trying to post this morning. Her iPhone told her that it could not access her Google account. So after much dilly-dallying , she figured she could just copy and paste my picture today.

I feel much better after a day or two of digestive problems and soft stools. I didn’t have any new food at all so san was and still mystified. She thought I was better but this morning it happened again. So she will give me my probiotics as well as the FORTE.

But all in all we are feeling fine and san has gotten over her hacking cough. Now she just coughs some of the time  and we are grateful for that .
