Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks

This is the last Sunday of 2015. We would like to give thanks for our health and even though our year end blood tests were not as good as we wanted, at least none of us were in very serious trouble. Bujang, Tanaka and Popps kidney values were a little higher but only just. So our acupuncturist Dr Oh will adjust our medications. San agreed with Dr Oh that we should not begin on the Fortekor just yet as that is long term medication and not easy to wean us off it.

The only one of us who has to get the SubQ was Bujang and yes he did allow San to give him the fluids and he did take the new herbal meds quite easily as long as San does the SubQ 'quickly and with no pain'. When it comes to TCM Bujang said 'a bit only dont give him too much at a time. Else he spits out.' So at least San had this covered.

The only one who has not gone to see the vet is Akira. She will go next week. We hope she will be just fine.

To end this Sunday, San thought that it would be nice to leave you with our thoughts this morning after our reiki with Fern. But before that we would like to wish you a very good week ahead full of love and warmth with family.

Fern:
Bujang: He was a bit sleepy and was relaxed. I praised him a lot for taking meds and injection. He just looked at me and didnt say anything. I know he understands why he needs to do this. Sometimes he may get annoyed while you try to administer those things though.

Akira: She is OK but quite lively today which I'm glad. She said something about fish. I saw whole fish. She was quite interested. She said B was a little embarrassed towards her and P that the boss like him was pinned down to take those meds :). A said to him that for her and P no problem now! :))

Tanaka: He was quite aloof today during the session but overall he was fine. Bored as usual and looking for actions. He was cute and at the end of session he was sweet and reached over to kiss my hand!!  Oh he said he enjoyed the food!

Poppy: She was alert and active. Good mood and peaceful. She said she is happy.

Have a good final week for 2015 everyone.

Monday Mood

We have been walking downstairs more these past few weeks. Bujang. Tanaka and even Popps ventured downstairs for a change in scenery. However last Saturday, Popps absolutely refused to wear her harness and I was very puzzled. I tried (probably for much longer than I should) and she struggled and scratched me. Then Bujang actually hit her on her behind and she became very quiet. I was able to put her down gently and all of us rested for a bit. However, the whole of Sunday afternoon, Popps decided to just stay in the kitchen.

Last night, as usual, they had Reiki and conversations with Fern.
Poppy: She said she wanna go for walks or in trolley but doesn't want to go back to her old place anymore.

Fern: She gave me an unsettling/reluctant feeling when telling me this. And she doesn't like to wait to go out as 2nd or 3rd. I told B has to go first as we all show him respect in that sense. She listens and softened.

Poppy: She said she was sorry she hurt you yesterday and feels bad about it. But still has slight upset.

Bujang:  He said he was happy. I asked him if he hit p's bottom. He said yes, no one can hurt you (if he is there) He thanked you for walking him. His back feels fine.

I thought I should only bring Popps out at the end of the week to allow her to calm down for a bit. But I am grateful that Bujang feels the need to protect me and that Popps is fine. She still thinks she should be first in all things but she is learning slowly that inside living is just as complicated as outside living, although much more safe.

And finally...

Wednesday Whisperz

Akira: She said she's thinking of getting to know Poppy better or finally even play with her...but now in the process of thinking only. She said if only Poppy is not fierce. she seems nice and has a warm personality.

Akira had been watching Popps playing as well and sometimes the two look at each other from their spaces. I do not know why she thinks Popps has a warm personality though as she sometimes shows some anxiety when they are both outside. But Akira is a cat who is always thinking. It is interesting that she thinks she would want to play as at first she said she didn't want anything to do with 'her'. 'As long as she does not have to play with her, she can stay.'

Bujang: he asked where you had been today (Sunday) and said he missed you. Then he said don't worry, he made sure everything at home was fine and under control.

I told him you helped Jeffrey find a good home, he was quite sympathetic about Jeffrey.

Akira and Popps

I heard Popps say that I am a spoiled kitty. I must say I can't help it. I am just lovable. I sit on san's lap every evening and I only need to meow at her to make her sit still. I have also grown much in confidence and am actually glad that Popps is living with me. I told Craig that even though we may not be friends, I am grateful that she is here as there is less focus on me and Tanaka is afraid of her.

San tells me my fur is growing although very slowly and I am more outgoing these days. Life is better now for me with Popps here. She is a strange kitty with strange habits but she is ok.

Monday Mood

Tanaka and Fern talked last night as usual after his Reiki and of course the conversation was about Putih. I had tried to get Putih to wear the collar several times and of course I had also bought her the inflatable collar but we had such so much trouble with that as well. Tanaka was watching the great drama that unfolded yesterday.

Fern: He was a bit cranky and wondered why Putih got all the attention. Later on in the healing he was calm and sighed. and said its ok, with a bit bored face. I explained to him he must support Putih and help her recover. He said "i know, i know". Then he jumped off and said he would look for something else more interesting to do.

Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks

This week we have many things to be thankful for. We first give thanks that grandma seems to be getting over her nasty cough. She had been coughing for about four months but now she is better. We are also grateful that we ourselves are healthy. We no longer get our food from the vet as san has successfully weaned us off it. We now eat no grain kibble ARCANA. We like the size of the kibble and now we usually eat all that is in our bowl. So san now has to buy extra for the downstairs kitty. We are also lucky as we live with san and she tries to make our lives better and tries to give us we want everyday. san remembered what Bujang told her "Must be one thing everyday". san sometimes thinks that asking Fern to ask us what makes us happy may be a silly thing as now she has to do 3 different things everyday for us but she knows we love her for trying. So she is thankful for that. But now time for each of us to tell you what we are thankful for most.
I am thankful for loving time. This is the time when I sit on san' lap. Usually san sits with me in the afternoon when she gets home from work but now she sits with the orange pesky brother. So instead for the past few weeks we sit together at night. san usually puts my brother in the bedroom at about 8 pm and stay with them until 9 pm. Then she comes out to sit with me in the computer room. She has some tea or read a book and we say my affirmation 'Akira is a brave girl who is smart. Akira is healthy and she is loved by family.' Well let me just say that san says it to me. My name for lap sitting time is 'loving time' where we heal each other after the day's work. I told Craig that it is important for me to have this with san everyday. I am also thankful that Craig can talk to me and so san will know what is happening with us.
I love having naps on san's bed in the afternoon as it is a quiet place and san does not mind my red hair that I often leave on the bed. Usually when san comes home in the afternoon, my sister asks to be out of her room and so san tells me to go to the bedroom instead. She lets Akira out and then she sits with me. Usually she listens to the radio and tells me that I am her kitty-Kat and that I need to be a good brother to Akira. I know san wants me to be better but I do not feel like it most times. My friend Fern talks to me about it every week and I tell her every week 'I know, I know.' it's better when san listen to the radio though. Then she doesn't tell me to be a good brother and I can nap in peace.
I am thankful that these days there is less screaming between Akira and Tanaka. I am a cat who likes quiet times apart from walks of course. If I can have another name it will be Bujang the Peacemaker as I try to make peace and advise Tanaka on what he needs to do. Usually when I hear Akira yelling and see Tanaka at her door, I would go to him to tell him off. I think it's important for family to learn from each other but these two kitties are not so good at listening. San usually does one thing with me every day. These days the walks I take outside are shorter because of the smoke and noise. I am thankful san walks with me anyway even if sometimes it is only for a minute or two. But I know when it does not rain in the weekend she would put my carrier out and I know then that we would be walking on the grass. Yesterday I went out walking on the grass for about an hour. Yes I am thankful for that.

Saturday Easy

                                  Another quiet day at home.
Akira is doing some work with Craig to make her more confident in her self. Bujang has come a long way and he is now more able to sit by himself in open spaces.

Like in this picture that we posted before. This was a first for Bujang as too open to everything.
Craig asked Akira why she kept biting her fur and her reply was that she 'was not confident enough to take part in life' but at the same time she really wanted to do so and so she took it out on herself. But we will see how she progresses in confidence.

Saturday Easy

I told san that I have not been in the blog pictures for many many days and today should be my turn. So here I am sitting by san's window this morning before breakfast. The teddy bear behind me belonged to my rainbow brother Totoro but we like him there as it was his favourite place and we feel his spirit close to us everyday.

san: Since Bujang is doing well with Craig, the Reiki teacher who is helping him with his emotional traumas, I thought Akira might be able to get the same help from Craig to help her with her overgrooming.  The little fuzz that was growing over her limbs is now no more.
But at least the skin is not red nor were scabs evident so she has not bitten through it. It surprises me as she is more confident than before and is so much calmer and happier. So it may be the case that it is a habitual action.

No worries san. We will soon get all this sorted out as well.

Wednesday Chat

Hmmm...too much work for me

I had asked Craig in early March this year, to help with Bujang's anxieties as he was vocalising more and more at night and very loudly as well. After Craig had helped me with Tanaka and Akira, I thought I should not leave Bujang alone as he had already asked Fern why 'he was not mommy's favourite anymore." This was when I thought he was much too obsessed with the iPAD cat games and did not allow him so much time on the iPAD :). Now of course he has graduated, with my help (?) to Nat Geo Nature documentaries, which he did not like as much as kitty TV.

Craig: What a real gentleman he is. He is very wise and gentle as you have said and it was wonderful working with him.

It appears that Bujang has anxiety at the moment which is causing him to be nervous. This anxiety is felt quite strongly in his solar plexus which is where you would expect anxiety to be felt. Looking at the cause he feels it may be a sensitivity to an ingredient in his food. Also, it may be worth checking his blood pressure. I am not a vet so am not diagnosing anything but would suggest maybe mentioning this to a vet the next time you see one.

The anxiety is being affected by some of the tension between Tanaka and Akira. Bujang is extremely sensitive to his environment and any emotions or tensions will be picked up by him even more so than the other two cats. He said that he has spoken to both Tanaka and Akira and will keep doing so after I explained what has been happening the last few days and also about the treatments. I also reiterated what I said to Tanaka and Akira that you love them all equally very much and that you hope that they will be able to get on. Bujang will definitely be able to help with this although the anxiety needs to be worked on first.

san: I am now giving him Freeze Dried Raw food which I need to get online. He had some digestive problems from when he was a kitten. I give him some probiotics as well.

The last time he spoke with Craig Bujang had this to say:
Bujang is a very sweet and kind gentleman and is a pleasure to work with. Before I started the treatment I connected with him and asked if there was anything that was bothering him or wanted me to know before the treatment. He did mention that if it is possible could he spend a little longer outside. I said I would pass this message on to you.

So now he gets  longer walks :))

Manly Thots of two mancats

Yesterday, Fern sent me a message about the amigos and their Reiki session. For our mancat Tanaka, she said:
He was full of energy when we spoke. He said he wanted to play. I asked him to bear with me a little. Then I asked what he was up to. He said he found something he could play with and that I shouldn't hold him for too long. He told me that "little girl" went out with Mummy yesterday (Akira went to the osteopath). I said Akira is your sister remember? He listened and ran off.

Of Bujang, Fern said: He received energy well and thanked me at the end. He said he really enjoyed that game you had him play (Jitter Bug). He said it should have been available for him to play long ago!

oh dear....

A Week of Surprises

Last week has been full of me coughing and just resting. The amigos have been behaving very well indeed and the spirit essences seem to be working their magic;). The amigos were more restful and calm. However, for Tanaka, rest is not to be as he had walked out of my bedroom for 3 consecutive mornings and sat on top of Akira's cage trying to say hello with his paw through it. But truth be told, he was a little less obsessed  and she was very relaxed and took it in her stride. In my effort to instil peace in the house, I had asked Craig, a reiki practioner, to give them all an attunement. The results were surprising indeed but not in any obvious change in behaviour. I now know that in our household I have 3 powers to love :)

                                                Rocket Tanaka, the Protector

Ms Akira, the Healer (this is an old pic and one of my fav)

and Big Boss Bujang, the Mediator

But all this makes for a long story which I will tell in later posts when I have sorted them all out in my head.

So we will end this short post with 2 pictures of Bujang walking on grass and negotiating his favorite green space last Thursday. It took him 2 days to get comfortable with walking in the park again after a whole year of walking along corridors.

On Wed he spent most of his time in his carrier

On Thursday he spent most of his time outside walking on his old spots. The days have been quiet as the lift upgrading works have slowed down. This means he could get more time downstairs although I think it was walking up and down stairs that had allowed him to lose some of his weight. I plan to have him lose at least 1 kg for this year. I hope we could make it.

My Say Tuesday

Megat has weekly reiki sessions with Fern and has become a more relaxed kitty. I attribute it to a less stressful life as he has the bedrrom to himself for much of the day, Tanaka is also not ambushing him at all cost and he naps much of the time in peace and quiet. I noticed lately that he is more proactive and would tell Tanaka off when he suspects Tanaka is going to be naughty. Before all these sessions he would just have moved away quickly when Tanaka tries to push him around. Of course he is also taking homeopathy for stress and calmness. apart from his asthma, for which he is taking sabutamol, and his sang hwang lingzhi, he has a twice weekly SubQ as well. Lately he has kept quiet and still even for that!

Last night, he had his weekly Reiki with Fern and I thought I would reporduce his update.

From Fern

Hi J. Megat was ok though he said he's tired and felt more drowsy. Other than that he's ok. He said,"what can i say, i'm old". I said no you r not that old, still handsome, clever, n healthy. He said 'don't flatter me." I asked him not to attack A or get too near her. He said "i know but it's tempting n what she did in my room?" I then explained to him the arrangment. he said ok,ok. He was pleasant. He asked me how i was doing too.

Megat is getting more sassy. Ms Akira did go into the bedroom to drink from the water fountain. She saw that I was there with Megat and so she sauntered in and drank. I actually had to hold Megat as he got up and wanted to get to her. He just watched her and then when she left, he yawned widely and had a nap.

The bedroom door would only be opened when I am home to supervise the interaction. Now Akira is out in the afternoon and late morning to walk about as I think this would lessen her stress level. Tanaka is now in the computer room if Akira is outside. Lately however, she has not ventured outside in the afternoons at all and sleeps in her own room even with the babay gates opened. I wonder why.

I hear it but I don't believe it...

I don't think they like me here. I know they said they love me BUT I don't believe it!

This is our final instalment of our experience with the animal whisperer Fern. When she spoke to Megat, she said that he was not as open as the rest. He was a real skeptic and quite suspicious of everyone. :( I asked Fern to ask him about his life before he lived in the carpark. He said he used to live in a house but there was a scary man who tried to beat him with a long pole. The man lived in the house as well and so he tried to hide. I think that was when he began to live in the dark carpark and had to fend for himself. He had a hard life there as he was skinny and sick ad many people were afraid of him. He was also dirty from the oil and dirt. I only knew he was in the carpark when I heard loud wailings and saw a small black cat in the evenings when I used to feed Minah and FatBoy( both now deceased).

It took me many months to gain his trust and one day, he decided to follow me home. I sent him to the vet where he had 3 canines extracted, his ears tipped and his blood test taken. He had FIV and  a bad temper. During these 5 years, he had survived kidney failure, liver issues and lymphoma. :) I suppose he needed to be a tough cat to survive everything.
Megat at 16 years enjoying the breeze.

Fern told him that all the cats are his friends and we all love him. He should also try to give us a chance. Megat said that he will try to believe that (but he doesn't truly believe it). He said he did not like so many cats in the hous as I have to pay attention to them all. He thinks I should only pay attention to him. Fern told me that Megat is not jealous but he is possessive of me.

I told Fen that this was true as Megat would always appear when Toro or Tanaka asks for attetion and he would bulldoze his way as well. He had been slapped for that once or twice by Toro and even Bujang. I know he is afraid of Bujang as he would get off anything or any space that Bujang wants. "I respect Bujang only," he said.

During the week that Fern was here, Megat had been misbehaving and slapping all the boys around, even Bujang. He shouted and yelled at sub Q sessions. He spewed out his asthma meds and batted all ofour hands away when we tried to pet him. So I thought then that I needed to get him other types of help to reduce his stress levels.

He told Fern that he slapped the boys because they 'irritate' him. He felt like slapping them and so he did! I asked Fern to ask him why he had quarrelled with Ms Akira three years ago that made her hide and he said she just irritated him and so he jumped on her from the table (she was walking) and fought with her! Ms Akira told us that she was minding her own business and he jumped at her from the table (she showed Fern a step that led to a table as well).

So now Megat is undergoing Reiki and he is doing very well with it. He has stopped slapping Toro, he has not butted in when Toro asks for attention, he has not confronted Bujang as well. He is now a more quiet kitty. He has a few more weeks to go though with Reiki.
Megat even asked Fern if he could go out for a walk, as he heard Bujang talking about it. Fern told him that he needed to wear the harness if wants to do something like that.

Megat: I would look stupid!
Fern: That is the only way you can go out.
Megat: It looks stupid. I am not a dog!
Fern: That is the deal. Maybe you can try it out first.
Megat: I would look stupid. But ok. I will see first.

I bought him a harness and he has been trying it out 5 minutes a day. But he has yet to walk around the house with it. I think it will be for some time yet before I can even attach the leash to the harness.

But we are trying.

Just a note: Last Thursday 19/7, Fern, an animal communicator came to my house to talk to my cats. I was concerned that Ms Akira's over -grooming and Megat's aggression to the other cats were making everyone a trifle stressed. It was an eye-opening experinece and now Ms akira and Megat are undergoing Reiki to balance their systems. We have been having some good results but those updates will be later, after I have posted the animal talk of all the 5 cats :) This is our last interview.

Cat Whisperer in our midst

I told her many things and she said I was chatty and a nice kitty.

Today we had an animal communicator Fern to come to our house as I feel that we may need more help than what the vets can give us, especially for Ms Akira. It was very exciting for me and for the amigos and I didn't think all of them would be so chatty and their personalities shone through everything.  I had been to Laura Stinchfield's blog and read about her as well as listened to her radio show and thought I should give this a shot. I am glad I did and as Fern said I could blog about our meeting, I would be doing so in the weeks to follow. We had also decided on a course of action that might help Ms Akira and the boys (but not with Tanaka and Megat, as she does not like them yet) can get together. Hopefully in the months to come, she would get a little better. Ms Akira and Megat are both also getting Reiki for emotional help.

I do not know how many people believe in animal communicators but I would do really anything to get help for the amigos :). I think they have a special skill and gift that would be helpful for us here. Our first instalment will be tomorrow for Ms Akira as I have some work stuff to get through tonight :)

PS. sorry Fern if I get some of the words wrong as I didn't get all the words they said on paper :)
