Sunday Dinner with Community Cats

Finally Putih came to dinner...

Putih came running for dinner this evening. I was glad to see her as it was drizzling and she has the habit of sitting out in the rain sometimes. None of the Gang of 4 was out then so she came and ate 1/2 a 80g can of salmon and chicken. Then she gave a soft meow, jumped down and walked off. The neighbourhood aunties were at the void deck and it was very noisy, what with their domestic help, grandchildren and screaming boys playing basketball. She was wise to move away quickly.

Big Nose....

I decided to see if the Gang of 4 were about and only found Big Nose. I asked the people if they saw a cat and a little girl told me where one of the cats were. She was very curious and started talking loudly. I told her that if she made alot of noise, the cat would not come out to eat. After that she spoke quietly and asked many questions.

At first Big Nose did not want to eat. I was afraid he was sick and so showed him the tin of food and he came immediately. He did not want to come out of the room and so put the plate of salmon and chicken as well as a plate of water in the room (through the grills) and waited for him to finish. He asked for more food and then he got out of the room and took a walk, away from the noisy group of aunties and grandchildren. I saw that he was sterilised and wondered why the family would abandon their one sterilsed cat. Then I saw that he was a big cat and had lost a lot of weight. Correction: This cat was sterlised 3 days ago by a concerned resident living in the same block. He was fighting with all the female cats and made quite a ruckus in the early hours of the morning. So now that he is sterilized, he seems calmer but we will have to see the results. This kitty, now called Tiga Dot (3 dots), love people and children. So for sure he was tamed by someone!

Maybe he was eating them out of house and home. They now have 2 cats that I know of and it seems a female with kittens (the auntie told me about this). I guess now we have to take care of him. Correction: Because he was trying to mate with the sterilized females, we assume that this was what he was doing to the other cat at his previous home. The family then decided to abandon him so that someone else could take care of him! The woman who found him first thought he was dead as he was very still and bony. Then when she saw that he was barely alive, she decided to feed him and now he is bony still but at least he is not starving. She was the one who had sterilised him too.
