Our Christmas Present

With all the Christmas talk, san bought us a Christmas present. Actually she bought us two Christmas presents. But she said this one is for everyone who wants to play in it. So I am here to supervise from far away just in case. It came in a box with pictures of cute kittens on it.

Hmm, Wheel of Fun? I have to see it to believe it!

These things are supposed to be able to cope with a 9 kg cat. san says it should work for me but I am not so sure. By the way I am NOT 9 kgs!

                                                    This is the bottom piece.

This is what the whole piece looks like. I heard san say to Cousin R that this could not possibly hold me. I think she is right!

Ok. I must say it looks good. Pink is my favorite colour. But I think I will just use the bottom half. There is no way I can use the top. I think the cats that were on the box were small ones and just models!

This very blurred pic is of Tanaka sitting in it. He is only 4.1 kg and he didn't even try to sit on the top tier! If you look at this picture closely, you will see the top of Akira's ears on the top cage and Tanaka is in his harness and leash. They were actually together in the same room and they were both calm! san is doing leash training with Tanaka but_that_ is a long story for another time. This one is just for this Christmas present. We hope everyone gets lots of presents this time.

Our second Christmas present was opened early this morning at 3. It was an animal communication session with the very famous animal communicator Laura Stinchfield. san asked about the ongoing difficulties between Tanaka and Akira and even I got to speak with her. We also spoke to my brothers at the bridge Totoro and Megat. san said she would write about what we said in later posts so that anyone who is interested in what we think can read about it.
san says not everyone believes in an animal communicator but it's ok. Laura has helped Ms Akira find help for her crooked spine and Fern has helped Tanaka find help as well. If not for the two of them, san would not have known that they were in pain. Laura and san told me this morning that I should try my best at the vet. Maybe I will. At least I will try not to bite him!!

Merry Christmas Everyone

We wish everyone a heartwarming Christmas. We always enjoy the season even though we don't celebrate it in a big way. We want to thank everyone for sharing the Christmas joy with us as we enjoy reading about Christmas decorations and food for the season.

I agree. san should get us our own tree. THAT is all I have to say.

Happy Purrsday to our Rainbow Kitty Megat

Today our Rainbow Kitty Megat would have turned the Big 18 and we want to wish him happiness at the Bridge. We are still trying to figure out our place in our new household as so much of our time really revolved around him. We still have his soft toy out, in the window seat as he liked being there in the afternoons but of course that seat is now taken by Tanaka who likes to spend his afternoons in the quiet of the room. In this post we are putting up a few of his pictures from Dec 2006 as we thought it would be good to just visit him again.
This picture was taken on the 14th of December 2006. I had to put him in the cage as much for his  protection as safety for the 3 kitties I had then, Toro included.
This was what our family looked like with all the kitties outside. This was before the BIG fight Megat had with Akira. Bujang was nowhere to be seen as Bujang was afraid of Shaolin Megat (as we had called him then.
Megat was smart and figured out the only way he would be allowed to stay was to get into grandma's good books- which he did :)
This was what he looked like then, when we had rescued him all those years ago.
After about 6 years that he was our dear kitty, he transformed to look like this. This was taken about 6 months before he went to the bridge.

Of course I had asked Michelle, to speak with him at the bridge about a month after he passed and I had asked him how it was there and what his job was.

Megat (the Bridge): There are many of us here, you feel shaken up, don't worry I am fine.
Megat (his job): Welcome, come along in, meet and greet. (I guess he is welcoming animals to the bridge. This was very different from what he would have done here.He was very protective of his space)

Today of course is also the day that we donate food to shelter cats and so I think that is what we would do to celebrate his birthday.
HAPPY PURRSDAY AT THE BRIDGE MEGAT
You are always with us.

Thursday Adventures

This morning I went outside and saw a nice bright sunpuddle but I didn't stop as I wanted to walk up the staircase to see what's up.
This is a nice square sunpuddle but san also reminded me that it was in front of  our neighbour's house and since we do not know this neighbour well, we should not stop for so long.
So I climbed the stairs to see what else was about.
Not much though so I decided to walk home.
                                                 What's that sound then eh?
Must be the sunbirds. Who else should make those chirpings?
As usual the sunbird was hiding out!
                                               Hmmm.  It's not here san!
That was just a white hibiscus. I sat for a bit more then went home. I had quite an adventure outside.  I am now used to just walking along our corridors as the repair works is taking a long time.

Yesterday san asked me what I was watching when I sat in my seat.
                      I saw this.
It was a little bug. I was thinking if it was going to do anything but it just stayed there so I had a ...
                        nap instead.

Monday Musings

This Monday I decided to let san sleep in as she is on vacation. I think she deserved some sleep, well until its time to breakfast.
This fuzz...my brother was just too lazy to get up. He rolled about even though san was ready to give us something to eat. I tell you, sometimes I don't know what gets into him!
My sister was much better although she got a little distracted by what she saw at the window.
                                                      It was a bird!!!
No san. It didn't want to come in. Not even to play!

Oh well. It's time for breakfast. Monday started a little later for us here.

Later on, we will just get on with our lives. We will begin with a marathon nap session.

Easy Peasy Sunday

It's time to rest a while...

And take your time. It's Sunday after all...

                                           Have an easy time everybody.

Yup. It's also pretty wet out as well.

But for today, it's Saturday Easy. The day is bright and the rain is giving is a break :)

To the VET I go.

Tanaka went to the vet today for his annual check-up. I am glad to report that he has an all clear. We did a blood test for the usual check on his kidneys and liver. The only nagging thing here was the 2.0 for his creatinine. But as I did not make him fast, the vet said it was not a cause for worry as he is a healthy kitty. Dr T had checked his lower legs and made him walk about to see if he was limping as well. It was all good and his X-rays did not show any hair-line fractures or bone abnormalities. He was also at a good weight, at 4.1 kg. I was glad  about this as Sister S and Cousin R said he seemed thinner. He must have been overweight before.  He was at the clinic for just over 30 minutes and now he is resting and listening to the rain.  I am so glad that we came him right before the rain. I am afraid this rain may continue for the whole day.

Tanaka resting under a sunpuddle some days ago.

I wonder where the sun comes from and where it goes.

Thursday at home

Yup. Today I went for a walk early, about ten-ish. It was quiet as its a weekday and almost everyone, except san, was at work. My brother Tanaka went for a walk before I did but san didn't bring her camera so there would be no pictures of that. But I went downstairs as well.

                                          Our neighbors must love bicycles.

san told me to pose near this bin as it was red like my harness. So I obliged as she did take me for my morning walk. This is where the neighbor would burn paper money as offerings to their ancestors.

Then I walked up again and stopped to rest. I like resting along the corridor as it would be cool and there would be a soft breeze through this gap in the wall. san sat to read her new book by Terry Pratchett. I told her to laugh quietly as it was a restful morning. When we got home of course there were birds to look at.

The orange fuzzball or like san says, my brother, and I sat by the window to listen to the sunbird (thanks #1 for telling us the name). It was small and it flittered about here...

but san did not manage to capture it with the cellphone and she didn't bring her camera outside at all. But it was pretty loud for such a small birdie. san said she would leave you with her favorite picture from this morning.

It's not often that we sit together like this so san thought it would be a good picture. Of cos she also wished that my sister Ms Akira can be in the picture as well but I think that would not happen any time soon.  Have a good day everyone. I think mine began well and I hope it would continue to be sunny throughout the day as well.
