Hmmm..so THIS is the trouble...
The motor with cover removed - there was some debris or gunk that I had to flush out.
Tanaka up to his tricks...he likes pushing the ice and then licking the water from his paws.. 
Megat have a drink from the dome...
Hmmm..the water tastes the same...I flushed out the debris from the motor and placed my palms on the dome to ensure even distribution of water. It worked very well and the amigos were happily drinking water straightaway. If not they would have to wait for about 5 minutes for me to even the water out.
