Tuesday Thots

 

Here I am under the kitchen table. It's my private place. I have my own mat that keeps me warm and my day bed with my toy rabbit. I also have a scratcher that San had tied to the table leg in case I need it. My water and food are hidden by the table leg. I am still a little itchy but it's a little better. 

  

Just Because

   

I fink I have been quite successful in making San write for 2 weeks already. I am a furry good supervisor, I must say. 

Bujang and San

I was very glad that San and I went for a short walk downstairs this morning. I had on my new Chinese New Year collar in red and black.  It was cool and quiet for some of the time. 

There was no one but the two of us. It was still Chinese New Year. Only San and I were walking about. 

     We saw an oriole in the distance. 

And I sat for a bit in my carrier just hanging out. It was a very good morning. 

Tuesday Thots for all

As usual the amigos had Reiki on Sunday. Popps was very cheerful and we were glad she could joke about it as well. 

Poppy: She feels better and joked that her body feels lighter and can run faster now. [on 27 Dec 2015, she was 5.2 and one week after that she was 4.7 kg] She said has a bit of nausea sometimes but don't worry. I asked how she felt that B looked after her. She said he wanted to know if she was weak and he could chase her or not. But I know she appreciated him. 

Bujang: I thanked him for being caring to P. He said he must look after everyone but he was quite surprised that her symptoms lasted longer than he expected. He himself was ok and I praised him for being so brave and cooperative at the vet last week taking subq. He sighed.

Tanaka: He was cheerful when I spoke to him and sweet. He said you were caught up with Poppy's condition and he was concerned. He hoped P didn't get worse as he quite likes P still even though they haven't been close. 

Akira: She was fine and peaceful. Felt like resting and relaxing. She said things come back to normal at home and that's good.

As usual we thank Fern for helping them through this and also to remind me that the amigos are such funny cats.

Tuesday for Popps

I was thinking of asking if you will think good thoughts for me. I am a little under the weather from Sunday and had vomitted a few times. San brought me to the vet yesterday as I needed help in eating. The vet said I had fever and had given me something for both my fever and my vomitting. Today I will have to have the needle like my brother Bujang if I don't drink by myself as well. I am trying very hard. 

Tuesday Thots

I had to be very stern with San as last week she abandoned us (ok only for one night) to stay with some friends. She told me that when she gets back she would bring us downstairs. 

So I had to look at her severely for some time...

Then I looked out at her more. She knew I was serious. 

But she was still eating lunch slowly so I came right at her feet. There was no mistaking my intention. 

       So I got to look at the pigeons

And walked about downstairs! Success!

Tuesday Thots

Tanaka: He was so cute  and funny. He said he is fine and he said finally Popps shared a story of her when  she was outdoor- that she ran from a fierce cat who chased her very far everywhere, and she finally found a place to hide and survived. P also said to T that T wouldn't have made it! T was impressed and said she's cool. Though he added he wont get near her too much as her moods are up and down! 

Poppy: She said she is ok and she told T her story do that he stopped asking. She didn't share the story with B and A, though. 

In the haze situation, Popps is not able to sit by the window for the breeze so she has taken to resuming her previous preoccupation with prayer mats. Yesterday I caught her lolling about here,

Tuesday Thots

Resting outside and enjoying the breeze and quiet. 

Now that the haze is not such a problem San and I have been spending some of our time along the corridor. She told me that she had to take a video of how I walk as requested by my osteopath Adrian but I didn't feel like it. So we just sat here, she listening to a story on Audible and me just resting.

Arggggghhhhh!

We had to clean the surrounding of her eyes with saline solution as she was rubbing them all day yesterday. In the evening she could not even open her right one. We also gave her some lycine powder with her minced chicken which she ate enthusiastically as well. This morning her eyes were no more watery nor the surrrunding red. the days have been very hot as well and she could have had dust in her eyes.

While I was looking for more pictures of Jeffrey Boy, I saw this one of Popps when she was Putih and still a comcat. She has so much space to explore. She must have had some good adventures then.

Tuesday Thots

Today is needle doctor day. I told san that although I do not look as though I hated it, I actually do not like it all that much. San seemed to think that it has improved my vitality a lot as Fern, our friend, came o see us last Sunday. She told san that I was much calmer (which I am) and much more energetic. San was worried about my levels of energy as I seemed to have lost a lot of it after my bout of fever early this year. I am also eating much better. So to san all is good. To me, well I can do without all that poking!

Fern: "He said its ok. He can handle the *treatments and meds. I praised him for accepting  help and being so brave. He said he knew that all these are for his own good."

*his weekly acupuncture and his TCM meds for his kidneys and his anxiety. He continues to growl and threaten Dr O when he goes for acupuncture although now Dr O is able to put in all his needles at one go. We went to see Adrian, his osteopath who is helping him with back pain last week. Adrian said that his back is still hurting him but it has not grown worse. So that is good enough for us. 

Tuesday Thots

I like sitting on top of the fridge. I know this used to be Akira's favorite place but she told Fern that it was ok for me to sit here. She is ok that sister of mine except she is still spoiled! But that is what life is. 

I like it here more and more except for the evening cleaning up routine. I don't much mind being wiped down with warm sea salt bath but I wish san would stop trying to clean my ears! There must be a limit somewhere. 

We continue to play hide and seek. 

I know he knows I look at him when he is 'not' looking at me.

I am spending my time with san wisely as she will be going to camp for 3 days! I will not be able to have quiet time with her and will probably spend most of it in my room. Oh dear...

Tuesday Thots

I thought it would be nice to hear what the kitties  said to Fern last Sunday. They have Rriki sessions every Sunday and they speak to her after that. 

"Bujang was calm and peaceful. He said "Of course I know what to do. It's my duty." He gave me a lot of confidence that he could handle things around the house. But he asked when you would recover completely. "

I have not been well with the flu and bouts of cough. He had not asked to go out during this time and had decided to sleep close to me instead of at my feet. I told Fern that I noticed this and wanted to thank him. 

After the acupuncture sessions, Ms Akira asked to go out of her room a lot more and she was more affectionate towards me. I have not noticed any discernible improvement in her hair growth or her bouts of fur licking though but yesterday she walked about the house and climbed onto the cat seat to look out the window. This I feel is the improvement which is as good. I have been trying to get her to be outside more ever since Poppy came to live with us. She had told Fern that she preferred to be in her room as it was a safe place. But these few days she has gone out and is much more relaxed with Poppy, who is also outside at the same time as her. 

"Akira is very cute. She is proud with the praises about bravely going through the needles and the medicines. She said thank you. "

I have been trying to get Tanaka with Fern's help to leave Akira alone. I wanted him to know that if he could leave Poppy alone, it should be simple with Akira as well. I wanted him to know that a good brother will help out. 

"For Tanaka, he gave me a feeling that Akira is his favourite to disturb and to pay attention to. I said he did very good job with Poppy, he said she is different. Then I told him what you said, being a good brother. He realized it and said ok, ok I try. He said that Akira should not be too uptight about him being around"

This morning Poppy decided she would play in our red cube (thanks to the katses from Katnip Lounge who gave us theirs). She played twisted and turned and played with the ribbons in it. I think she felt more free to play as well as Tanaka was in the room as Akira was outside. This was a new thing for her.  Akira was quite unconcerned and watched her playing. 

"Poppy was really cute. I praised her and asked her about the new box. She said she knew that you bought the new one. She said I play with the old one first till it's broken, then I play with the new one."

Of course Tanaka has taken over the new box already. He likes sleeping in it and I put him here when he is outside with Akira as he can look at her and then nap. But what is important is that when he is here, he doesn't get down to disturb Akira at all.

Tuesday Thots

This morning san decided to bring me outside. Yesterday she brought Akira and Tanaka out to see Adrian but I didn't get outside the whole day.  So this morning I was glad to be out. 

           I used the big scratcher. It felt good. 

I also went downstairs but it was full of things that I was rather afraid of like postmen and trucks. Even ginger the cat with two metal rods in his ankles came to see me. I was very nervous so san brought me to another place altogether. 

        I sat here for a bit to get my bearings 

before walking about. I had more than 1 hour here as I spent 30 minutes just sitting in my carrier. 

Today I sat on grandma's bed. Tanaka left me alone as he doesn't come into grandma's room often. 

  I had a nice restful nap here by myself. It was a very good morning. I hope for more mornings like this. San told me and Tanaka that the idea is not to develop territory but to share the territory and develop relationships. Hmmmm...I don't know about that!

I wonder what goes on there?

He is always curious to see what goes on downstairs although he does not like walking on grass at all. When I bring him downstairs, there will be long periods of him walking at the void deck and hiding in the drains.

It is not often these days that Akira even asks to be out from her room in the middle of the afternoon now that Putih is here. She is still a little nervous at being in the same room even with us in the house. This was taken last week when I was home early and she actaully asked to be out in the afternoon. Later when Putih came out to sit by the door, she just sat here keeping an eye out. Akira is a cat who prefers humans than the company of other cats except for Bujang's. She is a peace-loving kitty and only wants to share in the quiet with family around her.

Tuesday Thots

Putih loves sitting here just watching the goings-on outside, not that there is much. But we have a few birds or the breeze flutters the leaves and the chimes will sound. She gets very cross if any one of the amigos should try to stop her from sitting here and just this afternoon had run after Tanaka to teach him a lesson about respect and personal space. She did not hurt him as Fern had spoken with her several times about what she needs to do with house cats. I had reprimanded them both about what had happened though and had closed the kitchen door for time out. Tanaka also had a time out in the bedroom. 

She sleeps on the carpet at night and does not move when I move about the kitchen. She would open her eyes but will stay put. She has an option of sleeping in her cage but prefers the kitchen space. She has her own litter but she also uses the amigo's litter in the kitchen but will only eat from her own plate and drink from her own water bowl. I have put some homepathy drops for her kidneys but have yet to give her any medication. A very good friend of ours had offered us Azodyl, which is horribly expensive, for free and we will take her up on it although I have yet to figure out how to give it to her. We have to move really slowly with this. Even with 2.4 creatinine, the vet said we could take a little more time to decide if she needs special food or medication. I read that I can sprinkle the Azodyl on her food so maybe we will try that first.

I thought it would be nice to hear what she had to say last Sunday when Fern finally asked her if she would like to stay and why.We had also agreed that we should tell her to think about the good points of the amigos and when she feels stressed, it would be good to think about that. I felt that if she thinks positively about them, they would do the same about her.

Fern: i told her of each of yr kitties' good traits. and that she also has good qualities in her like intelligence, wisdom, bravery etc. So let's focus on the good points of one another and live together as a family.

She is interested. Then I asked her not to scare, chase, hiss or anything that is not friendly to the other 3 kitties if she wants to stay here. Actually I opened up with "would you like to stay here with this family?" She said yes.So i asked why this time you wanted to stay? She said she had enough of the outdoors, she rather settle at your nice loving home and she wants to rest and eat without being scared or running or hiding.

When we asked Akira about letting Putih stay she said "if Putih is nice to her, then she's ok for Putih to stay. She said she likes Putih when Putih is nice to her. When Putih scared her, she didn't like that. (Putih had scared her twice by chasing after her)

Of course the boys have many things to say about it as well but I will post that later. By the way, we were told by one of the residents living around Putih's old building that there are now 3 feral dogs roaming the territory at night as well. Its a good thing that Putih is with us now.

Tuesday Thots

We want to thank everyone who has thought kindly about our comcat Putih. We think she would be well enough in one or two days to go back. We ourselves are very well and are glad to be loved and healthy. 

                           

Our friend Fern had spoken to Putih and we are glad that she knows she is here to get better and is comfortable. She is now making a lot more noise which means she is ready to go home. We have told her to run away from the bad kitties and not stay to fight them as she may get hurt again. But of course we do not know what will happen in future. We are just glad we were able to help her for a bit.
