Tuesday Thots

       

This morning I came out of the room early.  I sat here with san by the door. It was quiet as my brother Tanaka was inside the room instead. We are taking turns. San told us that taking turns is important to build relationships. 

     

San told me that I'd I keep all my four paws on the ground I get to sit outside wif Akira. I did this several times as I sometimes forgot and san told me if I forgot I will go back to the computer room to think about it fur a while. So I spent my time in an out offur the room. At least I was not bored. 

                   

I went for a morning walk with san. We went out at about 9 am thereabouts. It was quiet but I noticed many children were out walking, going to school. San said they may have extra lessons. WHO needs extra lessons? I can't imagine that. Anyway I spent a good deal of the time running in and out of my carrier as I was not used to so much movement. San says maybe tomorrow we can try going to much earlier still. I am looking forward to that. It's a good walk anyway. 

Vesak Day at home

On Vesak Day, which is today, I went out to make sure all the plants were ok.  It's impawtant to take care offur Nature as well.      

                

                 San's plants are ok. I told san they just needed some water. 

             

                          They seemed healthy and there were no bugs. 

I went walking and it was very pretty with the sunpuddles. I told san we are lucky to be together. 

      On Vesak Day I just sat with san. We had a quiet time. I told san I need some quiet time with her everyday. san and I are both glad we have these times together. 

Tuesday Thots

Yesterday when san came home I asked to be let out, loudly. It was already 5 pm and I deserved some time out. Then I put my living room domination plan into action. My brother Tanaka was in the computer room but he sat close to the baby gates to look at me. So I sat in front of him (but a few feet away) and lay on the tiles. It was very cool to sit there but more to the point, I was telling my brother that I was not afraid of him. Then I walked in front of the gate and stared at him from the outside. I walked to the left and stopped by his gate. I think by now he should get the message and allow me equal time outside as well. Then we can share family time together.

Bujang was bored of the cat games and so I allowed him some cat videos from YouTube. This is one of his favourites. It shows some robins (?) eating nuts or grain. Bujang likes the *red one very much and would paw at the screen. He can sit here for more than 20 minutes just watching the birds. After 20 minutes, I would usually tell him its time for bed and he would rest quietly :)

Tuesday Toes and Treats

Bujang went to the vet this morning to have his nails trimmed. He was very upset because the vet had him under a towel. He growled and snarled. I don't think I would allow the vet to do this the next time as it upset him quite a lot. The last time we went to have his nails trimmed he was quite relaxed and they even managed to take blood. There was no towel then! I have to see what he would do tomorrow with Adrian and if he is quiet we would not have his nails trimmed. I thought it would be wiser to have his nails trimmed in case he decides to use them on Adrian tomorrow. 

                        

I brought him downstairs today in this carrier with wheels as he needs to have a good vibe in it or else he would not want to get into it again for tomorrow for his osteopath appointment. 

 

It rained a little when we were downstairs so we sat together - him looking at the rain and me reading Taylor Mali aloud to him. It was a good quite interlude for the both of us. Actually it was a quiet treat and we need more of those.

Happy New Year Everyone

                               We give thanks today for many things.

We give thanks for a healthy family and that we can find help for ourselves when we need to. We give thanks for our blogger friends who had purred for us when we were ill and unwell. We are thankful that we have Fern and Laura who can tell san what is going on with us and so san can get us help as well and we know that not many pets have this type of help. We miss our Rainbow brothers but we know that they are happy at the Bridge and they come to see us when they need to. 

We are even thankful for that spammer who had posted something in our post of 2007 as san went to see the post and saw this marvelous picture of our Rainbow brother Totoro. 

This was taken in 2007 during Hari Raya when Toro had a rest in between guests. If it was not for the spammer, we would not had remembered this picture at all. We take it to mean that our Rainbow brother Toro wanted to wish every one of us a Happy New Year as well. 

San feels that we should put a picture of our Rainbow brother Megat as well and one from a very long ago - Bujang and Akira when we were only two cats. 

So from everyone here, we wish everybody a good 2014 ahead. 

Reading for the holidays

I bought a box from MUJI to keep my reading in order. Also it would allow me to see which books I had read already and can give away to the library for a book exchange. Of cos the boys decided to help me with it. 

                

         Is this box fur me to sit in? It smells good and its sturdy. It also has my coloring. I like it. 

                           

You're serious. You're putting books in my box? Will you be able to read all offur these books before school begins again? Are you shureeee? 

       

There are too many books and I think you might not have time to walk with me if you read all of them. What? You have read some of them already? Which one is your favorite then?

                           

       A good choice san. It has pictures of dogs and a horse on it. I'm sure you enjoyed it a lot. 

A note from san - the book tells of a journey Louis Hedyt had caring for her dogs who became sick with cancer and also death of two of them. She also detailed her conversations with her dogs and her horse, Genji, with the animal communicator Laura Stinchfield. It was very touching and real for me and I am sure many people thought I was strange to cry as I was reading the book as well. I had also spoken to Laura before and so it was like listening to an old friend. 

Let me help you get rid of the ribbon then maybe you can read to us. 'The Shining' by Stephen King? Maybe not.

Tuesday walks

    

Akira began the morning with a short walk along the corridor. It was raining so she didn't want to go too far away from the house. 

But she did make a few stops. This belongs to the neighbour and I think it must house quite a number of insects. She scrutinized each and every opening. 

    Then it's time for another neighbour's potted plants. She looks at this pot every time she is out. 

        Bujang was even more curious. 

    

The bug kept very still as though it was just a stain on the wall. He lost interest after a few minutes. 

Then there was thunder and he got a little frightened and so he stayed close to home. 

I won't be frightened like Bujang. When can we go out?

My Say Tuesday

Megat has weekly reiki sessions with Fern and has become a more relaxed kitty. I attribute it to a less stressful life as he has the bedrrom to himself for much of the day, Tanaka is also not ambushing him at all cost and he naps much of the time in peace and quiet. I noticed lately that he is more proactive and would tell Tanaka off when he suspects Tanaka is going to be naughty. Before all these sessions he would just have moved away quickly when Tanaka tries to push him around. Of course he is also taking homeopathy for stress and calmness. apart from his asthma, for which he is taking sabutamol, and his sang hwang lingzhi, he has a twice weekly SubQ as well. Lately he has kept quiet and still even for that!

Last night, he had his weekly Reiki with Fern and I thought I would reporduce his update.

From Fern

Hi J. Megat was ok though he said he's tired and felt more drowsy. Other than that he's ok. He said,"what can i say, i'm old". I said no you r not that old, still handsome, clever, n healthy. He said 'don't flatter me." I asked him not to attack A or get too near her. He said "i know but it's tempting n what she did in my room?" I then explained to him the arrangment. he said ok,ok. He was pleasant. He asked me how i was doing too.

Megat is getting more sassy. Ms Akira did go into the bedroom to drink from the water fountain. She saw that I was there with Megat and so she sauntered in and drank. I actually had to hold Megat as he got up and wanted to get to her. He just watched her and then when she left, he yawned widely and had a nap.

The bedroom door would only be opened when I am home to supervise the interaction. Now Akira is out in the afternoon and late morning to walk about as I think this would lessen her stress level. Tanaka is now in the computer room if Akira is outside. Lately however, she has not ventured outside in the afternoons at all and sleeps in her own room even with the babay gates opened. I wonder why.

La-di-dah Tuesday

These days I try to allow her out as much as I can in the afternoons. She likes being here where the sun comes through and the windows are open to let on the breeze.

What I Wish For

I think I will take some time to get used to the idea of being in the same room with Megat and Tanaka. I am still quite afraid of these big bullies although now they do not threaten me so much. Still I would like to be able to sit with them just like I am able to sit with my bruffer Bujang. I know san is trying to get Fern to work with all of us - me, Megat and Tanaka to make it happen. I am still nervous though.

 They look very friendly here but not with me!

This is what I would like my family to be with me- that I will be able to sit outside with everyone calmly and unafraid.

Note to kxbc about the catgrass.
I would just put the mixture in the pot and water it as per the instructions. Then I would cover the whole pot with a black plastic bag for about 2 days for the seeds to germinate. Once this happens, I would remove the plastic bag and put the pot in a place that gets some sun. In about a week, the grass would grow long enough for the amigos. This one is a pot of Bio- Grass which they like.

Cat Trivia

san was trying to tell me about somefing that she found in the net. It has somefing to do wif astrology and kitties but I was too tired. There are 12 months to listen to. So I took a nap but she thought it was interesting enough for cat moms and dads. I told her "Go on and try!" Please bear wif san a little bit. JANUARY CAT
- is intuitive, loyal and a trustworthy companion

FEBRUARY CAT
- is a delightful, gentle creature, with an almost psychic
intuitiveness and understanding

This is true enough. Ms Akira is very gentle and understanding of other other kitties. She prefers calm and does not like being chased or to do any chasing herself. Now of course she is much more confident and only last night, she decided to take a walk on the wilder side - going up one level to see what up there. But she hesitated a bit when she heard some loud voices and walked quite calmly back home.  

My lovely kitty Totoro who went to the Bridge last year was our

MARCH CAT
- is peace-loving and gentle, may seem to be in a world of
his own for much of the time 

and indeed he was all of that. He was non-confrontational and gentle and a little dizzy. He preferred to sit by himself  at doors and windows for the breeze. 

and then our little family does not involve any of these other kitties

APRIL CAT
- bursts with vitality and curiosity and therefore may be
difficult to get in at night

MAY CAT
- loves his home and food; the ideal pet for the loyal cat lover

JUNE CAT
- is energetic, itelligent and interested in everything and
everyone. He hates being shut in

JULY CAT
- thrives on affection and repays it generously, he makes
an excellent parent and a devoted pet

AUGUST CAT
- is bold and proud, with a big heart, he makes a loyal
and generous companion

until Bujang, our ..

SEPTEMBER CAT
- is fastidiously clean and hygienic, and is not averse to
his own company - the classic cat

He spends much of his time cleaning and trimming his talons and he loves his own company in the lazy afternoons, preferring to nap by himself in grandma's room or on top of the night cages. He looks after the house as he is the MANCAT :)

We do not have October cats but if yours is an October cat it says

OCTOBER CAT
- loves the finer things in life, like soft cushions,
gentle music and constant displays of affection

The Rocket is our November cat. I agree with this entirely...

NOVEMBER CAT
- is deeply emotional, and should be treated with great

Tanaka: Hey..you forgot the laundry! Shall I open the gates fur you? Quickly cos after this I am going to play hide n seek wif my sisfur. No she doesn't know it yet...hehe

DECEMBER CAT
- is a happy-go-lucky feline who will prove to be a diligent
mouser and entertaining character

I think he must have been quite a good mouser to have survived so long in the carpark before he came to live with us. He is quite entertaining as he tries to give in to Bujang when Bujang wants to play.

Cat in sunbeams

 This afternoon, I had a quiet time outside. I had sunbeams to play in.

I was out for only an hour with san but it was very good. I hope we have sunbeams again for me to bathe in.
