Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks

This is the last Sunday of 2015. We would like to give thanks for our health and even though our year end blood tests were not as good as we wanted, at least none of us were in very serious trouble. Bujang, Tanaka and Popps kidney values were a little higher but only just. So our acupuncturist Dr Oh will adjust our medications. San agreed with Dr Oh that we should not begin on the Fortekor just yet as that is long term medication and not easy to wean us off it.

The only one of us who has to get the SubQ was Bujang and yes he did allow San to give him the fluids and he did take the new herbal meds quite easily as long as San does the SubQ 'quickly and with no pain'. When it comes to TCM Bujang said 'a bit only dont give him too much at a time. Else he spits out.' So at least San had this covered.

The only one who has not gone to see the vet is Akira. She will go next week. We hope she will be just fine.

To end this Sunday, San thought that it would be nice to leave you with our thoughts this morning after our reiki with Fern. But before that we would like to wish you a very good week ahead full of love and warmth with family.

Fern:
Bujang: He was a bit sleepy and was relaxed. I praised him a lot for taking meds and injection. He just looked at me and didnt say anything. I know he understands why he needs to do this. Sometimes he may get annoyed while you try to administer those things though.

Akira: She is OK but quite lively today which I'm glad. She said something about fish. I saw whole fish. She was quite interested. She said B was a little embarrassed towards her and P that the boss like him was pinned down to take those meds :). A said to him that for her and P no problem now! :))

Tanaka: He was quite aloof today during the session but overall he was fine. Bored as usual and looking for actions. He was cute and at the end of session he was sweet and reached over to kiss my hand!!  Oh he said he enjoyed the food!

Poppy: She was alert and active. Good mood and peaceful. She said she is happy.

Have a good final week for 2015 everyone.

Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks

I am thankful I got to go for several walks this week. The days were not too hot and San and I walked in the mornings.
Popps: I am thankful that my eyes are no longer red. San thinks it's the dryer that we have in the house. Last Thursday the repairman came and cleaned up the whole machine and after that my eyes were much better.
Akira: I am thankful that for the whole week I got to walk about in the morning. San put Tanaka in the room where he can't disturb me. But he gets out when San comes home but San is always about and would remind him to leave me alone.
I am not thankful that I have to stay in the room in the morning. I am always curious as to what goes on outside. But I am thankful that I get to go for morning rides in the carrier as well. There are many things happening outside.

This morning the family was involved in a charity drive to provide 400 school going children with school bags and school paraphernalia for 2016. All in all everyone has had a thankful week.

Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks

This is a pic of me sleeping at the window this morning. It was nice to be here to catch the morning breeze. But
Yesterday I was here for some time. This is taller but not so breezy so I sat here for a bit only. If you have been reading san's blog about me, you know that she thinks I am Bossy Boots and I am not much of a talker but you would be surprised. I had told 2 stories already. I think I am on a roll...
But before I tell you another story about my life, San said I should do the Sunday Thanks. Okie.

We all give thanks that San never lets us out by ourselves. So the chances of us getting captured in traps and sent to Animal Control to go to the bridge before our time is NIL. Last night San and her friend went house to house to put in flyers for a cat who was at Animal Control and the kitty was going to the bridge  next week. But we are thankful that one hour after they had given the flyers, the kitty's owners called Animal Control to get him back. So all is well for them both.

Popps told me the story of her life downstairs. Some kids chased her and were rough with her and she had to hide in the drain. I think that was very terrifying and I am glad I have a home and now Popps also has a home with me.
I heard Popps telling Akira this story. I think she is very brave. I think it's pretty hard to live outside so I am thankful for my life. Going to see Adrian yesterday was not so bad. He drained my lymphatic system and so I don't get clogged up because of the haze. I also got a nice massage on my leg muscles. Adrian asked San if I would allow people to kiss me. San said she thought I would BUT I need to tell her that I only allow her to kiss me and I will only kiss her (it's more like sniffing me close to my face). No one else please.
I told Akira the story because I thought she would like to hear it. And I was quite bored anyway.
I am glad they are all finding their own space and finding out that living in a family is not so bad. I can now rest more and don't have to be 'Bujang' all the time. I can just be one of them. That is what I am thankful for.

Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks

It is that time of the week to count our blessings and we have quite a list so our post is a long one.
This week did not begin to well for me. No my family was much the same. Bujang still pestered me no end. The trouble began when I had an allergy. San noticed that my eyes were red but she thought nothing of it until I showed her that I was not feeling too well.
San sat with me at night and she saw that I was sad and my face was different.
So she brought me to the vet and we got some antibiotic eye cream. After two days of using it I felt better.
This was me last night when San came in to say goodnight. No more angry red spots.
Yes. We did have a good week. I was not stressed when Popps ran after me TWICE! I knew she didn't mean any harm and she wanted to play. Fern told me this last week but I have not figured out how to play as yet. San said it will come to me.
I went to see Adrian my osteopath yesterday and he said that my tail bone was a little crooked. So he did a very hard massage to put it in its right place. Adrian said it was a painful massage but I was a clever and strong girl for not making a fuss and allowing him to help me.
I usually snuggle at night wif San. I know she appreciates me sleeping on the bed wif her or sometimes on her chest or her arm. She would usually lay still. I fink that is because she loves me and wants me to be comfurtable.
I went to the acupuncturist this week. It was my turn and I sat like a champion. San said at the end offur the year I would have to give some bloods to the vet to check my kidneys. If they are better I don't have to go so often anymore. The blue collar helps me to concentrate and so I don't have the urge to take out any offur the needles myself.
Yes. This was the most important thing. I felt that I deserved some peace and quiet and I was glad I did not have to discipline anyone much.

Ok. I admit that my suspicion of Popps have not abated. I think she is trying to take my place. I don't like that and had tried to keep her in her place. This week I had told her to stay in the kitchen. San was not pleased that I was bullying Popps and gave me time-out and allowed Popps to stay in the living room. Maybe I was too harsh on her. I have to think about that a little.
All in all we had a pretty good week. We are grateful for our blessings and our good friends. We hope your Sunday is a blessed one as well.

Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks

This week we have many things to be grateful for. One of the most important was our kitty Jeffrey found his forever home. We had many people to thank for this and one of the most important was Nebisa who made it her mission to help us. We also thank all of you here for your prayers and good wishes.

                                                                CODY as is

We thank Poppy or Popps or Popsicle as well. She has been a constant joy in our house. She is fierce about her independence and very particular with what she wants or does not want. In this Sunday picture, she was just enjoying the simple pleasure in a sunpuddle.

Tanaka had tried very hard to make friends with Popps. We have much to thank him for the lessons he taught us about optimism and play.  He is a 'good boy' and just loves spending time investigating.

Our peaceful Kitty Akira has grown much in confidence. She loves quiet times and just hanging out enjoying her own company. She now has a more forward- looking view of relationships and thinks of both Popps and Tanaka in a better light.

Bujang is also learning how to take things easy. His job is just to 'monitor' the kitties and I remind him every morning that he should just rest and let things go.

Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks

We have come to the end of June but the beginning of the hot month. June is when it's good to be at the beach but maybe too hot to be there but san thought if we were at the beach, we would be doing any number of these things. Akira would just be lazing about with her  favourite toy, minding her own business and Popps would be up and about rolling about with her beach ball ( she already tumbles about in her red cube here chasing either one of us or the beans). Bujang would just be hiding out in one of the huts sleeping the day away and Tanaka would be in the water surfing. San would be the one throwing him the life  buoy though. He would just have rushed to the water.

Today also marks the last Sunday to san's school break. She should have gotten a whole month but she spent 2 weeks of it at a workshop, cleaning her desk of clutter and trying to complete some work for the school. Then she had 2 days teaching some bits of Julius Caesar to her class and the last week down with asthma! She didn't have a good holiday at all.

We think the brightest thing she had and still has is US! We gave her a lot of attention by playing with her and also exercise by making her open countless cans of food for us. Bujang sang her many loud lullabies and Tanaka made sure that she is up on her scritching skills. Akira made sure she has 'quiet time' and Popps made doubly sure that her running skills are as close to perfection as she can make them. So we guess she has many things to be grateful for about us. We certainly had many things to be grateful for about her as well. We certainly had her to thank for the improved situation with our kidneys.

We thought we will close our post with our friend Jeffrey. He is still at his home-stay but the one -week trial period is coming to an end next Thursday. We fervently purray that he will be able to stay with the family and Halley the woofie-cat. But we know he is trying his best to get used to the new situation as well. We hope that finally he has found his forever-home with this family who seems to enjoy his calm steadiness and appreciates his independence. Now if only woofie-cat Halley the fetch-playing marvel will be less 'nosy' as Jeffery puts it. We are also thankful that our friend Fern is helping out Jeffery to adjust to this situation as best he could as well.

Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks

We are thankful that we are safe and have a home. Ok so I did try to beat up my sister Akira last week and I did try to stare down Bujang and did growl at my brother Tanaka. Still I am grateful that I have them and I know they are grateful that they have me.
No she is telling tales. Not about the fact that she tried to beat is all up though, just the part that we are grateful to have hur!
My only regret is that Tanaka is so 'busy'. I wish he would stay still more but I know he is still 'young.
I want all of you to leave me alone to rest. No more shenanigans Tanaka and Popps.
San put this up on FB for me. Today I am going to the MaoMao Cat Asoption Drive. Please purr for me everyone.

Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks

Today's post is about giving thanks. San said I should be the first to post as I was a little naughty and had fought with my sister Akira on Friday night. As a result Akira had hurt her eye a little ... not much at all. Ok I should not have fought at all. I am sorry Akira.
San put some antibiotic cream on it and now it is ok. San asked me why I did it and I told Fern that I was bored. San was surprised and told me that being bored was just part of life at home and violence was not the answer. She told me perhaps I could find my own entertainment or think about how to keep peace in the house without using violence. Hmmmmm... that sounds like a lot of mumbo jumbo. Then she said she would take me for a walk and give me my red cube back. I was sorry and really, I am thankful I have a home as she told me that being bored was any time much better than being chased and hurt by other cats downstairs. And so I should stop hurting my family as I knew what that would feel like. I told her I would think about it again.
This is our family photo of the week. I went outside for abit yesterday as san wanted me to have a more varied day so I won't get bored. But I didn't like it much and so we went home quite quickly. My brother Bujang spent much of the week lazing about as he said he wanted to rest. My brother Tanaka, whom I also tried to aggravate last Friday decided to use his time wisely to supervise the weekend cleanup. Lastly my sister Akira spent the whole day outside. She was very happy and I did not disturb her at all. I spent my whole day here ...in tranquility
On grandma's bed napping and resting.
We said we had some news about Jeffrey but we are afraid to say that he was very shy with the potential adopters and spent much of the visit under the cages. He ran away from them and did not even sit with them for any time at all. San thinks he may not manage a trial stay with these people who came to see him but she told him that there would be other people and other chances. Maybe later, he may learn to be a little more sociable. This month, he has 3 events to go to where he can learn to be with strangers and get better. San is glad that all the events would be indoors.
I considered all this, especially the part about Jeffrey still having to look for pawrents who would love him. I already have a family who loves me. I must agree with san that my life is now very good with my family. So I think I should say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone. I am truly happy to be here except sometimes I just get a little bored and my family is just there for me to bully...errr play with.

Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks

It's time for our Sunday thanks. We had one altercation between Bujang and Popps in the middle of the week and one screaming episode between Ms Akira and Tanaka. All in all a good week. After that one altercation, Popps had been very respectful of Bujang. It's not that she has not been behaving well. I think Bujang has been trying to assert his status in the house. So being very clever, she now stays in the kitchen when Bujang is sitting at the cat scratcher or is near the door. It's only when Bujang is on one of the higher cat seats that she comes out to play or be at the door herself. We are thankful that she is mindful of him as the more aggravated he gets, the more stress he may have in his back. Adrian said an emotional upset may translate to a physical one as well.
She really likes it here for the breeze and the activity.

Tanaka has been his usual cheery self and takes everything in his stride. No amount of persuasion will ever convince him that leaving Akira alone will be to his advantage although I tell him this every morning before I go to work. But he is getting more relaxed around Popps and does not eyeball her when she is outside or follow her about. He knows the consequence of doing that very well :)

Akira is much more focussed on herself and does not get scared when there is an altercation between Bujang and Popps. She takes everything in her stride and observes them from above. This picture shows her bald spots very well but there is some fur already on her forearms. It is very slow-going but no more bites through her skin. She does lick her new fur off of course which is sad to watch.
Bujang and I waiting outside Adrian's office yesterday.

I am to try putting a cold compress on his back these two weeks. Adrian said the pain in his back is due to wear and tear in older animals. Yesterday he was not very angry when Adrian touched his back and he enjoyed the cranial massage as well. Adrian said a cranial treatment can also benefit the whole boy although he prefers to directly massage the affected area. He said in two weeks he would try to lengthen the ligaments there but very slowly as he does not want to rile Bujang nor get bitten or scratched by him. So in two weeks we all see if this can even be done.

Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks

I suspect that I won't be getting much food in the coming months. Yesterday the needle doctor told san that he felt I was much heavier. San was surprised and so she weighed me and was shocked. I am sure in the coming months I would get rationed food. I heard her tell grandma not to be tricked by my so-hungry yelling as well. Hmmmm I don't think that is playing fair. However I am thankful that our friends told san that a cat that is a little chubby is better than a skinny kitty. What is good is that I think san will try to bring me out for longer walks.

My thanks is simple since I like simple things. I am thankful that san and cousin R help me with my medicines every day. I am thankful for the warm sea salt baths as my skin is not as itchy as before. I am also feeling much more relaxed. I know that my canned food is not the best for a cat but I like them. I do not like no grain wet food. San had tried many times but I always told her 'no thanks'. San thinks because I eat very little wet food, it's ok. I am thankful for that.

It's time fur fanks. I am fankful that san pays me a lot offur attenshun. I do not mind the TCM nor the needle doc. I can take it. San now also wipes me down every day with warm sea salt water and so I do not have too much loose fur. I do not like being brushed at all.
I am thankful that san and cousin R wipes me down only on Saturdays as I am just getting used to being cleaned by someone else. Yesterday san was very pleased to see that my ears were not very dirty unlike before. Don't get me wrong. They were still dirty but NOT filthy. So I didn't have to suffer so much ear cleaning. Also I am thankful that I get raw chicken breast or raw beef for dinner. San has been giving me that for 2 whole weeks already. This week it is time for skinless chicken breast. I do eat the kidney kibble and I also have some of the kidney TCM in my food in the morning. So eventhough there are some things that are difficult living indoors, I am grateful that I am always safe and I get good food and care.
So from our home to you- have a very good SUNDAY everyone.
