Community Cat at the Ixora Park

Resting and eating biscuits on saturday evening...
This community cat lives about here I guess as she will always be here when we are here. She is very pretty with a mixture of russet, browns and golden shades. i suspect she may have been the daughter of a previous tortoiseshell with the same colours. i have not seen that cat for along time though.

1st Meeting...

Bujang sat very calmly watching the community cat...

They have seen each other before several times and she is a very friendly kitty who is always curious about us. She had come to investigate us before several times so eventhough she was a little nervous of nosy Bujang, she just sat calmly just for a few minutes after which she got bored and left. Bujang just sat there for a while longer watching the other happenings in the park.
This is actually the first time they actually sat togther as at other times, she would just follow Bujang about and he would a little nervous of her. She is very healthy and ate some biscuits.

Park Adventures

Bujang in the ixora park...

He was rather nervous to begin with as it was a long time ago that we last went here. Once he got out of his carrier, he made a beeline for this very small clearing and investigated the bushes looking for good grass. There was one or two which he munched. he kept looking up at the flats as there was alot of noise going on upstairs. Then he sat under the bushes to look at the view. he did not get much exercise this evening.

Then as he was busy sniffing at columns, Billy Boy came to visit us. Billy Boy has taken Cal's usual place. I took some close up shots of him and was quite surprised that he let me as he would only eat with Cousin R. then as though he was on the clock, he raced up the steps into one of the blocks. the auntie tells me that he lives in that block of flats too.

Billy Boy...the newest addition to the WildBunch...

Billy Boy (Cousin R named him) is not strictly a community cat. He has a home but eats someplace else like someone in a moveable feast. He is now fat and healthy and I would like to think it was thanks to us that he is this way. His family does not feed him, allowing him to roam freely. He used to be really thin and he also had sores but now no more. Since he has a family, I didn't think it would be right to collar him. I don't really want his 'family' to look for me...in case they object to it.

Sunday in the park

Well, I do not know this place. I will just sit here behind these things...
and he did....

he sat and watched the goings on from behind the palm fronds...

Then he sat inside his carrier. For 20 minutes I sat with him reading a magazine...

It was very restful but the sun was getting hotter and I told him I would bring him to his favourite ixora park..

Here Bujang curled and turned about on the rough concrete...

He had a very good time and did not realise he was being watched....

by a very pretty calico from behind the bushes....

She sat quietly, made no noise and did not attempt to talk to him...

This is the pretty little girl with a tipped ear. I am glad to see that she is sterilised. I remembered feeding her a long time ago. She had a good friend, a handsome, black Tom Casanova. I have not seen him for a long time already.

This very handsome female is the resident cat at the park. I was worried that she might have a growth on her belly but after I felt it, I was relieved that it was not a hard ball. So I guess she was just fat :)

Out in the park

I had parked the carrier close to the ixora bush so its easier for me to keep an eye on it...

Bujang decided on a new vantage point where he could see sll the happenings under cover...

Taking a rest after all that spying...

Finally! Some grass!

Maybe I can get something better in here...

Bujang did not protest when I bundled him into the carrier at 8.30 this morning to bring him to the park. We went to a new section but he didn't like it and told me to go to the usual place. Once there he stepped out and immediately went for the grass. The park is a little changed and there were new plants all round so Bujang spent some time exploring. We met an old man who wanted to take his pictures. Bujang of course suddenly became camera shy and refused to look at the man. It seemed the man's granddaughter liked cats but was a little afraid of the real thing. So the man takes pictures of cats to show her :)) I got some grass to bring home with me in case Bujang wanted some more. I had run out of cat grass. But Bujang did not like eating the grass at home at all. He only eats them when he is in the park. Funny kitty :)

Evening Walk

Sniff...what's that smell...

Bujang eating grass in the park after many months...

A very fat community cat kept a close eye on Bujang. She didn't like us in her park at all...

Bujang trying to sneak past the fat cat...

Bujang at another part of PR, away from the fat cat....

Bujang watching some residents burning hell money for the hungry ghosts...

We walked some more in areas that Bujang had never been before...it was quite a treat for the both of us...

I decided to birng Bujang out for an evening walk as it rained this afternoon. We had not been out for a long long time and since I was going to bring him to the vet tomorrow to trim his nails, I decided that he should at least have a fun evening. But it was not such a good idea as it was also the time when the community cats get fed by the caretakers so we met Minah, who sniffed curiously at Bujang, FatBoy who snarled at him and he snarled back and a very fat community calio who scared him by stalking him :)
The only good thing was he had some grass, and saw people burning hell money. He looked at them for some time before I decided he should see the other parts of where we live :) When we got back, I cleaned him up and he got a little upset and slapped Megat for kpo-ing. :)

Park View

Bujang under the ixora...

Looking at kids on bikes...always vigilant...

Carrier...

Community cat resting in the quiet afternoon...

What's that?

This afternoon, I thought I would bring Bujang to the park after the rains. It was surprisingly hot and humid even so. Bujang preferred to sit under the bower of plants where his favourite ixora was. I think he had forgotten what it was like being in the park as we had not been there for such a long time. So he spent his time just looking at the view. I managed to read 1/3 of my book while he was meditating. I guess it was good for the both of us together. I hope to bring him down more times this month.

Rocket Tanaka taking the breeze

Where is this Rocket?

What's all these smells...hmmm..hmmm

I am afraid...can we go home?

I am The Rocket...I am brave..a little bit...

But san...what is that sound?

I think its time I lay low...

Bujang looking at The Rocket from under the ixora...

I thought that it was time Tanaka went Outside with Bujang. I was glad that Cousin R came to the house much earlier than usual and with her help, we brought both Bujang and Tanaka with us. At first Tanaka was nervous, preferring to be near his carrier but I brought him to the grass and he took to it quite soon. There was a time where he was frightened but that was because the kids came home from school and rushed and screamed the park down! After a few minutes, he calmed down and lay low, craning his neck gingerly when he heard sounds and noises. Bujang was no help as he was absorbed with eating grass and smelling the ixora. He also re-discovered his love of watching the neighbourhood kids play football. We were out for 30 minutes by which time it was 6.20 pm and time to go home for dinner. I think all of us had a nice day out this evening.

Saturday in the park

Bujang sniffing the air for signs of danger...

and we sit, sit here...

and we smell the ixora there...

okay, we also ate some grass...

The park is very clean san, not like before...
But I prefer the shade please...

This is the first time this year that we had gone to the park. I had wanted to bring him to the park before this but it had been raining for quite some time. So since I was not working this Saturday, I decided to bundle him out and wheel him to his favourite ixora park.
Bujang protested for a bit in the lift but I think that was because he didn't know we where we were going as we had not been going to the ixora park for half a year. However, when he saw that I was just wheeling him some place, he kept quiet and relaxed. When we reached the park, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was very clean and quiet. Bujang was at first nervous and sat near his carrier but later he walked to his favourite ixora and took a sniff, ate some grass, lay under the sun and hid in the shade. Then Bujang had an adventure :)

Watcha doin?

Tiger Kitty investigating me...

This smells funny...

Ooh this is too boring...

Tiger Kitty came close to hang out with me for a bit. She is very friendly and extremely calm. This very confident kitty sat with the two of us for about 2 hours, on and off, since she has a whole park to see to :) I was quite surprised at how confident she was and was glad for some company under the sun.

Its a long time coming

Bujang casing the joint...

I have not seen you for such a long time...

Let me see who else is here...

Ooh..the smell of ixora...

The neighbourhood looks the same...

Yah..its just as I remembered it...

We spent Sunday morning in Bujabg's favourite ixora park. At first he was quite hesitant to get out but once he was out there was no stopping him. Of course he stopped to sniff at everything, just so he knows who was about, then he walked straight to his favourite ixora bush. He sniffed at all the various bushes and sat in the middle of it, just he did all those many months ago. He sniffed at each branch and even the grass. He didn't eat any though. I think its because grandma gives him his share of wheat grass every morning. He didn't walk the park but stayed put in his favourite bush. I must say the park was very clean and very quiet. Possibly because it was early yet and the kids were not out in full force. We had a full hour before it started to drizzle. I bundled Bujang up right away and wheeled him home rather quickly. We just made it before the rains came down on us. Phew! But it was a very good morning nevertheless. :)
