Today we thought it would be nice to hear what he has to say to Fern about his behaviour. 

Rezki: He gave me a lot of curiosity and a lot of energy level that he loves to be all over the place. When I asked him not to attack Bujang or frighten Tanaka and do not go too near to the girls, he said that's really boring. He said he wanna play and run around, but he didn't know why they all were very quiet and they have no activity! I explained to him that they just wanted to relax and have some rest. However, I praised him that he's was a very good boy that when Grandma called, he went to be near her. He said grandma is kind, he likes her (energy feeling very warm from your mum to Rezki).  

Rezki said when he's excited and in a playful mode, he also meows. He didn't understand why people don't like meowing. I told him like what you suggested about licking lips or yawning when he gets stressed or uncertain, he said he didn't know about that. So I asked him to practice doing it.

But we are cats and we would appreciate a second breakfast.

Confusion

Poppy is having a very difficult time with our lodger Rezki. We have been trying to comfort her and explain the whole situation with her for a month (that is how long Rezki has been with us). She feels that he has the potential to make her life more limited in terms of space, time and attention. All this is true of course, especially space as she shares the kitchen with Rezki but we try as much as possible to give her as much time in the kitchen as possible and Rezki is only allowed into the kitchen when she is napping in the study. 

Rezki on the other hand is a confident kitty and has learnt that this is a good place to sit and view the space. He walks in and out of rooms fearlessly and shows great respect to the resident cats, especially Bujang. Even Akira showed no fear when he took a peek at her on the couch. But he is only allowed out under close supervision and when Popps is asleep in the study with the gates closed. He has never been allowed in the study so Popps would have peace of mind there at least.

He is still in the house as we have to give him SubQ twice a week (if possible) but once a week is compulsory. He is also going to acupuncture twice a month as recommended by Dr Oh. So this is the only reasonable solution for now until his kidneys get better or as near to its normal function as we can get it. He is now eating his tcm like the rest as in this way, we can ensure that he gets the full dose.

Cody's mom drew this picture of Popps for us. We are grateful for her talent and generosity. Popps told Fern that she does not  like Rezki as he is a stranger and is not 'clean.'  I think she is so used to everyone (except Bujang) getting a daily wipe down after their tcm  that she expects all cats to be as clean. She is such a funny kitty.

Bluey used to be just the Chocolate Siamese in need of help last week. He was found hungry and thin and he was so hungry that he didst care about the 2 resident community cats who were upset with him for taking away 'their' food and water. It took only 1 week from his capture to his vet visits and now to his new home. We think his good looks play a large part to his now adopted status as well. Good Luck Bluey!

The fuzzy buddy used to belong to our rainbow kitty Megat. Now Popps has taken a liking to him as well. 

Cody on Monday

After a long interval we finally have more pictures of Cody. 

He is looking well and more importantly is well and happy at home with his sister Halley. 

Halley may not think he is an asset though :)))

Nevertheless our Monday Mood is Thankfulness. 

Popps had to go to the vet yesterday as I noticed that she had a dark bald spot at the side of her mouth. It was not wet nor did it look fungal. I was thankful the vet said it was moisture dermatitis, the result of her continual licking of her face. Although she told Fern it was less itchy, it must still be itchy enough for her to do it. The vet gave her a shot of antibiotics and some anti itch meds. He did tell me it's a steroid to stop the itch but when I told him Popps was about 10, he said it was okay as long as there was an appropriate interval before the next one (if she should need it)

So indeed we have many things to be thankful for.

               Thankfulness

We are thankful that our commcat Blackie is finally home. He had to be boarded because he had hurt his shoulder and the vet had had to clean the abscess. In addition there were also feral dogs about the carpark and one of the commcats was attacked. Like our little Popps had said before - it's a hard life being a commcat. For now, he is safe. 

     

He has grown much thinner at boarding. He ate a whole can of wet food at 2.30 pm when he came home and also at 5 pm for his dinner. But we think this is a better weight for him as he would have to do a lot of running and hiding.

 Hopeful

San is trying to figure out why my eyelids and the surrounding of my eyes are red. She thought that ever since the dryer was repaired my eyes should be ok. I told Fern my face was a little itchy. Other than that I am okay and quite recovered from fever. I want to thank you for helping us through it. 

  

San decided to wipe my face with some Argasol. It made my face less red but still, I think she should get to the bottom of it soon.

BB is safely at boarding last night. I was just thankful that we managed to help him and he was safe with us. The amigos were rather rattled yesterday as BB did not stop meowing until about 7 pm. After that he decided that he should get some food in his system and some rest. 

The vet put him in this buster collar which made him unhappy as he was not able to move around easily. So I asked Popps to lend him hers. Popps was quite relaxed when she sat with him in the kitchen while he was in the bathroom. So I knew she may not mind it much.

               Anticipation

Bujang received our surprise package this morning and after I had signed for it he expected me to open the package. I told him that it was from our friends in France, The Chans. He sat looking at me expectantly but I told him we will open it on Friday to welcome 2016.

He tried to show me his talons to persuade me that a gift should be opened immediately :))

I had to wait for him to relax for a bit and put the package away. He looked surprised but was later quite ok with us opening the package from #1 and The Chans later as I promised everyone will get a treat from the package. Thank you Chans for our really nice surprise. 

Bujang just hanging out on the bed in case I changed my mind.

I am surprised he is doing so well in the study by himself. I appreciate him giving Akira a chance to be outside first.

Popps was extremely miffed that I did not allow her to go where she wanted this morning. After I carried her to the carrier she decided she would not walk out again, possibly ever. So we went to another park where she sat under the trees, still in her carrier, to watch the sights.
