Easy Peasy Sunday

The three offur us spent some time outside but not........

Megat. In the first place my bruffer Megat does not like the outside, even in his harness. san tried to teach him several times but he kept running back onto the house. Anyway he has to go to the v-e-t!!
He is 3.6 kg!!! san was very happy as he managed to put on some weight. 2 weeks ago he was 3.56 kg. I know san was furry worried that he would lose even more weight but he managed to keep his weight stable. Now in a week he has to go to the hospital to meet Dr Ly and san wants him to at least put a little more weight for that.

Another bit offur good news is that he is not constipated and does not have hard poo on his intestines. The v-e-t thinks this is because san had fed him by hand in the morning and sometimes at night and he eats a little of his kibble during the day. This morning he finished all of his night snack (all 20 gm) of it! So he might not have much poo as his body uses up all offur the food. He still has to take the duphalac effuryday to 'regulate ' himself.

The v-e-t gave san 10 cyphroheptidene pills just on case he needs it. He is to take 2 mg if he doesn't eat his 2 meals in a day. The v-e-t said to give him the pill and to wait for an hour. Then san needs to give him some food after.

All in all the Sunday was just right. We now leave you wif a pic of me cos good fings happened today but san will write about it anuffer time.
Have an easy Sunday from us.

Just Do It Megat.

It was very good to see Megat eating is breakfast this morning, at 4.50 am. He was alert and waited patiently for me to serve his wet food. Last night after opening 4-5 cans, he finally decided that he would eat Friskies' mackerel and tuna. It was 7 years ago that he had eaten Friskies as I was told that it was not the best food to give cats, even community cats as it was sweet. But, for a kitty like Megat, any food he was willing to eat is the food I would give him.

So this morning he ate his Friskies' as well I was very glad that he also decided to eat some of what was on Bujang's plate, which was Applelaws chicken with pumpkin. Well, he licked the pumpkin and left the chicken. I told him I was glad that there was no need for force-feeding this morning. So he just had Vit B, C Caps and salbutamol.

Last night we tried to give him the duphalac but he spat it all out. Cousin R reminded me that we could give him Laxatone instead which was we did, about 1.5 in of it. At about 9-nish I heard Megat yelling and growling away in his night cage. This is always a signal that he wants me to either clean his litter, clean his cage or clean him! Indeed Megat had done his business and there was poo in the litter. The not so good thing was the poo was soft. So 1.5 is too much for the guy. After a major clean-up, he rested for a bit with me and then I tucked him in for the night.

This morning I saw that he had eaten all of his 20g of kibble. HURRAH!

I had also given him a firm pep-talk as advised by cat_aunty. No more advice and soft talk. I told him that since we had both gone through so much together, it is only reasonable for him to make an effort to stay with me and at least make an effort to eat. I also said that if he did not try to eat I would have to bring him back to hospital where he would have to be on the drip! I spoke to him during his 35-min sang hwang lingzhi suppository sessions where I would have to cuddle him to allow for all of the sang hwang to be absorbed into his system. I just told him what is what and that we will always be with him whatever he decides to do. But I hope that he would eat so his body would be healthy :)) Then we had a cuddle and I sang him a song cos he needs to keep still for the sang hwang. I had also given him his 1/2 (2mg) cyproheptidene pill in a capsule after his dinner.

So its either the cypro (unlikely as it would take several days to kick in) or just a cat's nature to 'just do it' when it suits him. Whatever it is, I am glad that he ate his food as usual and had done his business.

This is my favourite picture of Megat taken early this year.

No Lymphoma!

          No lymphoma? None?

That is what the ultra sound found. He has no more lymphoma and his intestines are fine. Dr S thinks it could also be due to the sang hwang suppositories that he has had. During this harrowing time he had a suppository everyday, even on Sunday! So in about a month, he has an all clear.

The bad news is that his intestine is full of hard poo and Dr S said this could also contribute to him not wanting to eat. He feels full all the time.

So Dr Ly gave him microlax and in a matter of minutes he had pooped on the examination table. Dr Ly also added that vincristine could cause constipation as well.

I guess Megat got his revenge !

On the matter of his appetite, it is still an uphill task. But we are more optimistic as now it is just constipation and NOT lymphoma.
Must you discuss this! Surely no one is interested in constipation!!

One more Marbocyl Day

I do not like the pill...really...

Tomorrow will be the lst day for his marbocyl. he has been very good at taking it. of course he sometimes has to be persuaded but now he finds it easy to just swallow the pill once it is in his mouth. He no more maneuvers the pill out of his mouth and he doesn't try to pretend to have swallowed it as I always ask him to open his mouth so I can check. Then he gets 2 treats which he likes better than 1.

I was quite anxious this morning when I saw 2 mounds of litter but nothing underneath both. I was thinking that Toro had tried to pee and was not able to do it. I sat him down and told him that if that was the case, then he would have to see Dr L before the 13th Oct! I was very glad that at 10.30 pm, when I got all the boys into the room to calm down before sleep, he was in the litter peeing a storm.

I now think it was Megat who had piled up the mounds as he is still having a little constipation today. He was able to poo last night though so I am not very worried...yet.
