TGIF

We would like to wish everyone a good year of the Monkey. I was not pleased that San chose me as the monkey mascot as I thought Tanaka would be a better choice. But San said since I was becoming increasingly much more agile after my fever, it would bring me more and more luck as well. I told Fern that ever since my fever I had lost some weight and I now am able to enjoy myself more being lighter as well. My face is also much better with the Argasol wipes. So maybe it's true. I would be the best mascot for my family.

Friday Furries

Bujang and Tanaka spent midnight listening to firecrackers. We had all our windows closed as sometimes people throw firecrackers out their windows as well! Increasingly we are hearing more and more firecrackers unlike 5 years ago when we would hear only one or two feeble bangs.
Possibly the horse is bringing with it a lot of changes.
Bujang was too tired of constantly being shocked by loud crackers and is spending the time in bed.

It's wasn't so bad san. I was not so afraid of the noise as I know I am safe at home.

Although it was furry exciting last night, I am glad that today is quiet. I know later that there would be many people walking along our corridors as we have 5 Chinese families on our floor celebrating the new year.

One piece of good news is that our comcat may be leaving for a new forever home. He is now 2 years old and very cheery and active. Someone had asked us for a cat that they may want to adopt and we had recommended him highly. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the family takes him in.

Easy Peasy Sunday

This Sunday san thought we should not just have pics of sleeping cats or even a cat under a pillowcase as we usually do. Since Chinese New Year is in two weeks, san decided we should wear our crystals in our collars. San boughted us 2 different ones.
The green crystal is Adventurine. The ones in the pikshur are for my broffur Bujang and my sisfur Akira. They boost resistance to stressful situations, helps with confidence and will soothe fears. They are also very gentle emotional healers. San thought they could use some help. The other one is rose quartz for yours truly. San says she hopes it will open my heart chakra to include my sisfur as well and I will not be so territorial. Hmmmm we shall see.
I was furry suspicious of the stones and investigated them thoroughly.
This is me modeling my new orange collar that says CHAT. I also have a new brown and orange bell that is a little less noisy. As I am the only kitty with a bell san thought we do not have to be clanging through the house. I agree wif her as I think I look furry handsome here with my rose quartz crystal for my heart.
This is Bujang's new watermelon collar. It's pink and green which are good colors for the heart chakra as well. San says there is no harm trying and if we all try hard enough the universe will help us as well, like the power of the paw.
Bujang is modeling his collar. He looks furry handsome here. He looks all of his 10 years. But here he...
looks like my bruffer- the one that I chase and play wif. He looks much younger here.
This is my sisfur's collar with green and pink and the Adventurine. But she did not model it as she was
                  napping under here.
We are all ready for Chinese New Year. It's the year of the horse. I wonder what is in store for us kitties.

I Want This Cat

One of our cousins came to see grandma and brought his daughter. She was very taken with Tanaka and told her parents that she wanted to bring him home for the night and she would return him the next day. She didn't want Bujang as grandma told her that Bujang didn't care much for people and the only one who would play with her was Tanaka. Her parents told her that Tanaka would not like it very much if she took him home and after some time she reluctantly agreed and told Tanaka she would see him again :) Indeed Tanaka was very obliging and even greeted all the people who came to visit the neighbours for CNY by sitting close to the door :) I think he was trying to spread a little Tiger luck on everyone.

Good Morning CNY

A close-up of FatBoy's face in the morning...
He should be about 6 years old now and just as tough as Bujang. He is very friendly and would sit with anyone at a drop of a hat, which is worrying for us. His fierce looks belie his sweet nature.

FatBoy sneaking up on a pigeon...
"I don't really care for pigeon..really, " he seemed to say when the pigeon flew through the void deck and out...
Minah resting in the morning...

Singapore Tigers for Chinese New Year

Meowy _the_ working_ cat at the groomers...
He welcomes customers to the shop and allows himself to be petted and photographed. Here he is looking at Bujang who was outside the shop.
This is an apt picture of a Tiger specially for CNY. He/She was not afraid of the camera and looked straight at me :)
Minah having dinner...
FatBoy sitting with me this morning at breakfast. I thought I should give him something to eat as the auntie would be busy with CNY preparations... I thought the 'love' (made by his hind legs) was also apt for valentine's day :)
FatBoy at dinner...
Putih is looking much chubbier than before. I am glad she is looking well. She hangs out in the school grounds after school dismissal. I guess that place would be the safest from hooligans.
Putih did not finish her dinner but ate only half of this 80g tin. Then she decided to roll about on the grass...

Since the auntie would be busy with CNY I would be feeding the Wild Bunch tomorrow (or later today ) too. We wish everyone a good and prosperous Tiger Year.

Year of the Tiger

The Tiger is said to be lively and engaging with incredible bravery and willingness to engage in battle. Maybe he is so brave because he is lucky. The Chinese say a tiger in the house is the best protection against the evils of fire and burglary.

Tanaka: Yes. I fink they are talking about me. I am lucky and furry brave to battle all the strangers that have come to our house. I make sure I supervise effuryone when they are repairing fings and I also help san and grandma to do the washing and clean the sheets. I am the lucky Tiger here...MROOOAAAARRR....

san says the year offur the oxen is good but we must all try to work hard fur our money. I dunno what she means cos we dun work and we dunno what it is. We only play and eat and sleep wif san and grandma but we hope this year would be good fur all of us kitties and kitty moms and dads and other moms and dads too.

To bed! To bed! To bed!

Tanaka trying to get the best position ....

Well, its important to get a good afternoon nap...

Maybe I should sleep over san...this is not a bad position...

Oh dear...I really need a nap...

Ok...this one is best.

Tanaka sleeping over Ms Akira's blanket and grandma's dress. Grandma has gone to Sister N's house for the weekend. He seems to like this best of all :)

Morning after CNY

ASAP grass under the bougainvillea...

I planted the ASAP grass yesterday as I thought it was an auspicious day and it would ensure that my cat grass would grow well and strong. I have not had much luck with planting cat grass. Usually they grow tall and spindly, not fat and juicy. I saw that the grass seeds were just sprinkled on the soil in the picture and so that is how I had them. Aunty-p told me I should not put them under the blazing sun but some sun is good and that is why they are under grandma's bougainvilleas. I hope we have some cat grass soon for lawnmover Bujang and his sidekick Akira.

Rocket Tanaka taking abreak after breakfast...

I removed the mesh last evening as Tanaka is now much bigger and would not be able to squeeze through the grills. He tried that yesterday to no success. Actually he tried several times :) Now that there is no mesh, we got a better breeze and I'm sure Toro would enjoy that.

Toro and Tanaka - the T & T of PR hanging out together...

Toro enjoying the breeze like before...

Toro is the one cat who takes his morning and evening and sometimes afternoon sittings here seriously. He enjoys looking outside as sometimes we get small birds and butterflies among the plants. He would also get the nice breeze that now sweeps gently through the house. Grandma says that he would always ask her to open the door at 6 am so that he could sit near the grills. "Who is going to do that? It's dangerous," grandma tells everyone.

Just hanging out today...

Yo! Kitty...Kitty...

Oh well..there is only so much we can do..we also need to relax...

Ms Akira made her 1st trip out into the living room..to celebrate CNY with family...

Then her duty done, she had more interesting things to do..like watching pigeons from the kitchen window...

No need to look at me like that...

Life is easy and CNY is surprisingly quiet this year...ok..time to zzzz....

Zzzz....
and for the most part that was what happened in the amigo house.
Happy Chinese New Year everyone.....zzzz.....

CNY Visiting

Ok...let's go san...

We need to get up...

Yup..this is the right way...

Hello Happy CNY! Hmmm..

This house looks more inviting..it has red paper san..maybe they will let me in...

Hmmm..smells empty...oh well..lets go...

This is our next door neighbour...maybe they will let us in san...

Happy CNY neighbour...good health and prosperity...

Zzzzz....am too tired from all that walking...zzzz

Toro and I went for a little walk on CNY. He was very good and walked briskly to all the neighbours. He even walked upstairs and visited all the noosk and crannies. I do not know what came over him this morning but he tried to visit the neighbours - 3 of them. However, he was not invited in at all as possibly nosy cats should mind their own business..hahaha. (Sorry for the blurry pics)
