Ms Monday and the news

Her new guardians sent us this picture of Molly (previously Ms Monday) yesterday. It seems she is busy helping with the laundry.

TGIF

I have eaten some tuna and also Bujang's kibbles. Then I jumped up on the bed and sat here like this for some time. I think I was too full to move much.
The human gave me an orange bow as she said that it was difficult to photograph a black kitty.
How can this face be difficult to      photograph?
Some time ago I told Fern that I had a much bigger space to walk about in when I was downstairs but I spent my time always afraid and running away from loud noises. I may not have the same amount of space to walk about here but I feel safer. The human thinks that is why I am putting on weight as I don't do much running about and am not so frightened. I am now 5.2 kg. Before I was about 4.6kg. Now if only the strange kitties would play with me!!

Sunday News

Rez had his checkup yesterday as well as his first vaccination. The good news is he no longer needs SubQ. I'm sure he is relieved not to be poked with the needle every week. The not so bad news is his creatinine is still high at 2.7 but even this is better than the previous 2.8. The vet said he would be ok if he just eats kidney kibble as he is 5.04 kg and is in very good shape.  HIs BUN has gone up to 38 from the previous normal of 36.

It has just been 2 months that he has had acupuncture and so I was not expecting a miracle. I will take 2.7 gladly.

I have posted many entries for his adoption at FB and I am very glad that those posts have been shared many times over by the many kind friends that I have made there. I will still continue to post about him .

I think he would need more care with Dr Oh, his acupuncturist. I am still trying to persuade Tanaka to be less anxious and to try playing with Rez so we will see about that.

     His favourite morning pastime.
Just hanging out watching the goings on in the house.

Hopeful Sunday

We are pleased to share some hopeful news about Rezki. This morning one of the hairdressers at the place I go to said she wanted to adopt him. YAY!!!

I had asked them last week but she said she would have to ask her mother and her husband first. They both said yes as they used to have a black cat as well who died of old age.

I am very hopeful as they did not abandoned their old cat and had brought him with them when they moved house. She lives on the 7th floor but her house has grills and she would also mesh.

I said  Rezki can go for a month trial when I get back from a short break in Penang  and all is settled.  I hope this materializes for Rez.

Easy Peasy Sunday

Today we are posting two pictures. Te first one is of Rezki. We think this is his best picture to date. He is very playful and has learnt to take turns when playing with Bujang. Tanaka to my surprise is still very hesitant with him and would run off when Rezki tries to play.
Our second picture is of his nemesis. She really goes out of her way to yell at him and had confronted him twice. Fern and I had been trying to persuade her that she is family and as family it would be nice if she helps him find his own family. I don't know if this helps at all but she was a little  calmer this morning and did not try to scare him when he was in Akira's cage.

Monday Mood

Confusion

Poppy is having a very difficult time with our lodger Rezki. We have been trying to comfort her and explain the whole situation with her for a month (that is how long Rezki has been with us). She feels that he has the potential to make her life more limited in terms of space, time and attention. All this is true of course, especially space as she shares the kitchen with Rezki but we try as much as possible to give her as much time in the kitchen as possible and Rezki is only allowed into the kitchen when she is napping in the study.
Rezki on the other hand is a confident kitty and has learnt that this is a good place to sit and view the space. He walks in and out of rooms fearlessly and shows great respect to the resident cats, especially Bujang. Even Akira showed no fear when he took a peek at her on the couch. But he is only allowed out under close supervision and when Popps is asleep in the study with the gates closed. He has never been allowed in the study so Popps would have peace of mind there at least.
He is still in the house as we have to give him SubQ twice a week (if possible) but once a week is compulsory. He is also going to acupuncture twice a month as recommended by Dr Oh. So this is the only reasonable solution for now until his kidneys get better or as near to its normal function as we can get it. He is now eating his tcm like the rest as in this way, we can ensure that he gets the full dose.

Monday Mood

His pics sent by his adopters on Sunday night
Bluey is luckier than most.
On Monday morning
On Wednesday night at home
After dinner

Bluey used to be just the Chocolate Siamese in need of help last week. He was found hungry and thin and he was so hungry that he didst care about the 2 resident community cats who were upset with him for taking away 'their' food and water. It took only 1 week from his capture to his vet visits and now to his new home. We think his good looks play a large part to his now adopted status as well. Good Luck Bluey!

Monday Mood

               Thankfulness
We are thankful that our commcat Blackie is finally home. He had to be boarded because he had hurt his shoulder and the vet had had to clean the abscess. In addition there were also feral dogs about the carpark and one of the commcats was attacked. Like our little Popps had said before - it's a hard life being a commcat. For now, he is safe.

He has grown much thinner at boarding. He ate a whole can of wet food at 2.30 pm when he came home and also at 5 pm for his dinner. But we think this is a better weight for him as he would have to do a lot of running and hiding.

Saturday Easy for commcats

A fierce dragon waiting to spring into action at Haig Road this morning.
This kitty was not concerned. He was waiting for the lift to open so he could get a ride. It seemed the residents would just bring him back downstairs later.
They are both healthy and fat.

Monday Mood

BB is safely at boarding last night. I was just thankful that we managed to help him and he was safe with us. The amigos were rather rattled yesterday as BB did not stop meowing until about 7 pm. After that he decided that he should get some food in his system and some rest.

The vet put him in this buster collar which made him unhappy as he was not able to move around easily. So I asked Popps to lend him hers. Popps was quite relaxed when she sat with him in the kitchen while he was in the bathroom. So I knew she may not mind it much.
Popp's in the same soft e-collar

Sunday Thots

I am not yet in an Easy Peasy Sunday mood yet.  Last night San brought a cat up from downstairs. She told me she was bringing the cat to the vet today to remove pus from another cat fight. I will see if she brings the cat home from the vet again. Hmmmm....
This is the kitty. This is the second time he was in a fight.
The cat that was rolling on the floor is Heine. He works at the vet. He was trying to make the comm cat feel better San said.
San also saw some beautiful flowers on sale for Chinese New Year.
Some very bright decorations for the Year of the Monkey sold at the market.
This is san's favorite Chinese myth - Journey to the West. Some people from China are selling these figurines at the market.

Monday Mood

We have been walking downstairs more these past few weeks. Bujang. Tanaka and even Popps ventured downstairs for a change in scenery. However last Saturday, Popps absolutely refused to wear her harness and I was very puzzled. I tried (probably for much longer than I should) and she struggled and scratched me. Then Bujang actually hit her on her behind and she became very quiet. I was able to put her down gently and all of us rested for a bit. However, the whole of Sunday afternoon, Popps decided to just stay in the kitchen.

Last night, as usual, they had Reiki and conversations with Fern.
Poppy: She said she wanna go for walks or in trolley but doesn't want to go back to her old place anymore.

Fern: She gave me an unsettling/reluctant feeling when telling me this. And she doesn't like to wait to go out as 2nd or 3rd. I told B has to go first as we all show him respect in that sense. She listens and softened.

Poppy: She said she was sorry she hurt you yesterday and feels bad about it. But still has slight upset.

Bujang:  He said he was happy. I asked him if he hit p's bottom. He said yes, no one can hurt you (if he is there) He thanked you for walking him. His back feels fine.

I thought I should only bring Popps out at the end of the week to allow her to calm down for a bit. But I am grateful that Bujang feels the need to protect me and that Popps is fine. She still thinks she should be first in all things but she is learning slowly that inside living is just as complicated as outside living, although much more safe.

And finally...

Cody at home

Jeffrey-Cody is doing very well indeed on his new home. He has now conquered the top position on the wall. His mom said he was fed-up with being harassed by his sister. He is also getting used to his dad. He has had some difficult times as all his caregivers have been women.

TGIF

                TGIF
I had a nice walk in the morning before San had to bring one of the community cats to the vet. It was a short walk but I don't mind.
San brought the kitty to this vet as it opens on public holidays. Today is a special public holiday because of our Jubilee. This vet helps comm cats a lot. The kitty has to stay overnight and her wound can only be stitched tomorrow. San thinks she was in a fight. This kitty was Jeffrey's best friend.

Tuesday Tweet

      A new picture of Cody.

In the past week, he had the flu, he tried to escape from the house and now he has an eye problem. He is really testing his pawrents.

On a positive note his mom says;

He learn how to play what Halley plays and Halley will follow him to the unexplored realms of the house.

If only Popps can do this. I think it's a tuxedo thing San.
