After the hard work

We rested quietly. It was good to rest after such a hard morning helping san wif the housework. She cleaned Ms Akira's and Megat's cages and changed all the blankets. Then she washed our toys and cleaned the bins. We all helped her so we all gotted to rest.

Our Reward

Tanaka was full of the catnip spirit :)
Toro kept sniffing at the catnip...
and rolling on them...

san gave us some nip to tell us that we did good. I fink it was a good way to end the cleaning of our house. We helped out a lot cos if not she would be too slow about it.

Working Wednesday

Yes. I am the kitchen supervisor...

I have to see that Cousin R is fixing new knobs on grandma's cabinet doors tightly...
Hmmm...I fink she is doing agood job!

It furry difficult to oversee the spring cleaning...

We are doing simple jobs these 2 weeks. The house painters are coming next week to paint the house in grandma's favourite colours - mostly white and some hint of grey and pink. We have ordered a new front door so we will not have our fabulous orange door with the red flowers on it anymore and we also have new cupboards and book shelves.

Nevertheless it would be a harrowing time for both Ms Akira and Toro but it has been 6 years since we last painted our house. We didn't have any of the kitties then so I guess I would have to give all of them extra attention.

I had thought of sending them to an animal hotel for 3 days but then they would miss the house and their things and that would surely give them all stress. Grandma would worry about them and I would have to go back and forth and that would stress out grandma as she would be with the painters! Anyway since we do not have much furniture in the house, the painters promised 3 days at the max.

So by Christmas, everything would be finished. Not that we celebrate Christmas but it would stll be nice to have everything finished to welcome Christmas:)

San's helpers

Toro wondering if he had to wipe the dust off too..

Bujang putting things in order...

Huh? What did you say? We have to move what?!

Oh! That's ok then. I don't mind standing guard...

I decided that I had to get rid of the furniture in my house. No I did not get any new furniture. Its just that my house has too much stuff that I had accumulated since I moved to PR. I realised this and grandma realised this too and so I decided that I should give away my good furniture- I chest of drawers, I wooden CD rack, I bookcase and I chest to my sister. I am also giving away two standing lamps and 1 bedside lamp. So many things that I did not need anymore. I also threw out my old dining table and moved grandma's mahjong table to the kitchen.
Now my house looks bare like Old Mother Hubbard except of course my larders are not empty :) I also threw out so many other things that could only be termed as junk and so now I have alot of space and can help grandma to store some of the linen. Grandma and I also changed the curtains :)
The boys had also been busy helping me especially Bujang who is not afraid of house activity noises. Toro came and went sporadically like the health inspector and moreoever Toro doesn't like noise. Bujang on the other hand is just as interested in drilling as vacuuming and shelving books. He inspected all the cupboards and sat near me for moral support. My cousin also came to help and at one point, my cousin told me that Bujang looked very confused. I told Bujang that he was not to be afraid as I was not leaving for anywhere. I think he has noticed that whenever I pack and umpack things, it usually means I am travelling some where.
I finished cleaning up the house very early in the morning and I could hear Bujang in the bedroom yelling and making a ruckus. He only calmed down when I went to bed and he was sure that I was not going to go away anywhere. This morning he was very calm and invited me to play hide and seek :)

Cats in cupboards

Yes. I think I look just as good as a book...

I must say I can get used to living in here...

After all, all the books are about me :)

You don't say? I have to move now?

Let me think about it. Its time for a nap...

Bujang has taken a great liking to sitting in the shelf of this cupboard. And why not? He has the whole shelf to himself and it doesn't smell new. In fact the cupboard smells anitique :) and comforting. I didn't have the heart to ask him to get off the shelf and so I went to clean up other parts of the house. He didn't stay long here though. When he heard me in the other room, he immediately came to help me clean it :)

Spring cleaning

I spent much of Sunday cleaning up my study. The mess went into 4 large bags. The amigos especially Bujang tried to help me but he became embroiled with the amount of paper that I had to discard. Then he decided that watching me was much more entertaining and altogether less exhausting for him :) Finally after I had mopped and cleaned up the mess, Bujang decided to take a nap on the newly tidied table. I guess it was a compliment of sorts :)
