Mid Week Adventures

It was nice to see Bujang exploring other parts of the park. These roots held a fascination for him and I was glad there were no ants here.
He went to his favourite part of the park but the Town Council had trimmed the grass here. Even the bushes were shorter and so he didn't get as much joy. He didn't linger nor did he sit to watch the goings-on.
He loves ixora for their sweet smell. These were the only bushes with flowers on them still.
I was quite surprised that he would pee outside of his box. This border was particularly interesting for him and he took some time smelling the edges. Then he turned around and peed. I guess it was some kind of outdoor toilet for commcats and dogs.
He was quite adventurous this morning. We were here at about 7.15 and we went home a little later after 8. The sun was out and it became too hot to walk about then.

Saturday on Sunday

He went for a walk yesterday and we saw this. It looked festive until the workers for the Town Council came to clean it up. They brought one of those big blowers and scared Bujang. So we went to the park.

Thank goodness he was dressed up with his black and red bow tie that I got him from Catopia. It's a gooodpetcollar so he looked good and the shelter gets 5 tins of canned food as well. Bujang cares a lot what he looks like (from his conversations with Fern. But I am glad he thinks that whatever collar or harness I put on him makes him look good).

My favourite photo of him in a small hidey-hole that allowed him to be hidden and also allowed him to see everything else.

Bujang enjoyed himself tremendously. He didn't even mind when we had to leave for home. We spent about an hour there before the sun got too hot for him and for me.

Saturday in the park

We sat for a while in this park and I thought of letting him out to walk. Thank goodness I looked at the ground first and to my horror I saw some big fat red ants. We got away from here fast.

This is the open ground next to our flat. He likes walking here and ate some of his favorite grass.

Then he sat about looking at a few cars and a big lorry that passed. He was calm and sat looking at them. Before he would have run into his carrier. I think all the rides he took next to busy roads made him less afraid.

Just Because

I had decided to make a hack out of a supermarket trolley so that I can bring at least 2 cats down for a ride after their dinner. This trolley was created with one bought supermarket trolley, some plastic mesh, cable ties  and Popps' bed. Its lightweight and allows the amigos to see the sights without any difficulty. Yesterday I brought Bujang to the park. It was a quiet morning and we had a nice time. Then I remembered that this was where I had first taught him to walk, when he was about 6 months old, around these exact benches.
Bujang when he was about 6 months. He had a figure 8 harness.
He was unafraid and would explore everywhere. The pics are blurry because it was taken about 13 years ago and I  had a borrowed and battered camera.
Here he is now 13 years later at the exact same spot, napping.

I am thinking of replacing this mesh with a black one as this would 'hide' the kitties from the public eye. Yesterday we had a dog owner who allowed her dog to growl at him eventhough I told her that 'my cat doesn't like dogs growling at him much'. I had to wheel him away from her. Then there was another woman who tried to wheel him away without asking my permission. I think she may just be quite taken with the contraption and wanted to try it out but still, it was a very shocking action that she thought she could just do that. But nothing disastrous happened and Bujang napped the rest of the time away. When he woke up, he meowed loudly and I took it as a signal that he wanted to go home. So we did.

Bird TV

This morning I just looked at San meaningfully and she brought me for a walk. I saw some bird tv. It was very exciting. But after that nothing else happened and so I just sat and looked at the sights.
It was cool and quiet and I enjoy that the most.

Monday with Bujang

Yesterday after asking San again and again I finally got out to walk downstairs. It was not hazy and there was no more more burning if hell money so San borough me down. I sat most of the time in my carrier as I liked watching the happenings but I also got out to walk about and eat grass.
Here I was making my choice of which blade to eat.
I also looked around a bit as I have not been downstairs for a long time.
But I mostly sat here as there were many strange noises and I was nervous after being away for so long.
But all in all I had a good time.

Small Cat Diary

Yesterday  I went for a good prowl downstairs. This green is a good place although san said I should hurry up since there were some mosquitoes flying about. I was not concerned as I am a cat and we are not  afraid of  mozzies!
I went undercover and hid behind this thick bush. I was stalking prey! Sometimes I can catch lizards and once a lizard bit me back on my toe. But I ate his tail up. THAT taught him plenty.
Then I heard a loud noise and was rudely distracted by a few 2-legged individuals. san said I should not stalk little human beans as I had  not put in enough practice for big game hunting.
But there were many little beans running about last evening. san said they were coming home from school. They didn't see me. I thought I did very well, camouflaging myself in the green.
And so I rested for a bit under the cover of prickly grass.
But when it comes to eating, I prefer the grass at this green though. Its longer and not so prickly.  They're also softer.

Thursday Walkies

This post is rather late as san was tired and told me she would blog after dinner and after we were both resting in bed, just winding down for the day.

Today I went for a walk in my usual place. The days are now dry and we have not had rain for about 2 weeks already although our mornings are unusually cold. You can see how dry the grass is. I don't mind as I just like walking downstairs. I was walking towards the tree and san kept telling me not to go there but I was curious.

I decided to see what was in the plate.

As san told me not to eat them I merely smelled them. They were offerings for Chinese New Year and so had been under the tree for many days. San was surprised that none of the birds nor any insect had been anywhere near them as they looked quite perfect although an unnatural colour.

San was much happier when I was rooting about under these bushes although she didn't know what I might find under them. I was happier as well as san allowed me to walk all over this space and didn't give me dire warnings.

Then I found a sun puddle and decided to rest for bit to enjoy my day downstairs. It was a good day and san thought soas well.

Monday Moods

When Monday comes it is best to think of what we did on Sunday especially if you're a kitty.

Of cos a cupcake is good if you're the kitty's person.
Here's to Monday everyone.

Thursday Morning Walk

san brought me walking early today. she only had her cell phone with her so the pictures are rather blurry. It was a clear cool morning with a lot of pigeons but san told me I cannot come near any one of them. Huh! That was pretty harsh!
I saw a container and sniffed at the insides. san told me it was full of ashes from paper burnt for offerings. It was quite interesting. There were no roasted pigeons in it though.
I also saw Ginger and san gave him some of MY food. I was not pleased and growled at him. See? He was nervous. Hahaha But then san bundled me into my carrier as she said she did not want me to scare an innocent kitty. INNOCENT my paws! He was on my patch.

Finally - A Walk

san, I do not mind a little rain. CAn we go for a walk this evening? Like NOW?
We have not been able to walk downstairs for many days because of rain in the evenings. But yesterday we braved a slight drizzle and made our way.
Ever cautious, Bujang made sure that everything was ok before we went onto the grass.
This was what he saw. He stared out for a few minutes and listened to the evening noises of children running home from school and the workers keeping planks and tins. He was not perturbed by the noise, much to my surprise.
Bujang ate some grass and then a woman came to talk to us. She asked me if I was Malay and when I said 'yes', she asked me why was it that I was able to walk a dog. She was surprised when I told her I was walking my cat. 'So big?!' she exclaimed looking at Bujang who was calmly chomping away.

I am a cat! PUHLEEZE!

It's my way

Yesterday Bujang decided to explore a new path during his evening walk. As he had been meowing extra long and loud, I decided that we should try to walk on the grass eventhough it had rained earlier and there might be red ants in the grass. I think Bujang was getting restless just being indoors all day.

He decided to walk up a tiny hill (I really don't know what to call it) but the path was a little uphill and there was a hedge of ixora to separate the residential space from the road. He quite enjoyed this until he got a little too curious and put his head under some leaves. I heard a loud sneeze and had to run after him as he made his way quickly down and tried to comfort himself by swiping his nose several times with his paw. It worried me as I thought he was seriously bit by something but I think it might just be an ant that he surprised. I waited for a few minutes for him to decide if he was ok. Thank goodness after a few anxious moments Bujang decided he was alright and we continued the walk

I was glad that we went as he was so much happier after that and was quite relaxed at night. We played with the dragonfly as well and I think because of that we were able to get some sleep as he did not meow so loudly at night.
