After Rain

After such a long dry spell, we are finally looking at green grass again with no haze. So yesterday Bujang saw his first expanse of green grass. It was also much cooler yesterday as it rained for a bit in the late morning. I took Bujang downstairs for a walk around 4 pm.
 His favourite spot
Finally he got fresh green grass and not wheatgrass that has been kept in the fridge for 'freshness'. He was very pleased and walked for quite a bit although he kept running to his carrier every time he heard something unfamiliar. It was also the time when the students form the nearby primary school went home so there was some noise which he was afraid of.

Walking adventures

Last night I had a nice slow walk outside. San said we would have a shorter walk since it was already past nine o'clock but she allowed a longer walk as I enjoyed it so much.

I investigated the bicycles. There were fewer than I remembered but saw them down some steps. I wanted to go down but san said we should not go to lonely places when it's dark as not many people can see us there. So we went on.

I like these row of potted plants. There are always insects under them, not like ours. I sniffed about but there was only a dry hibiscus flower. THAT was no good.

This was the first time I had gone here. I didn't know what this was. san told me it was a trolley for grocery. No wonder it smelled good and also strange. It was a good-strange. I spent quite a long time here.

The blue door was also a strange one and I loved the shoes outside. san told me we had only a few more minutes as she could hear Ms Akira meowing from inside the house. She told me we should not leave my sister alone for long. Since I was her big brother, I thought I should go home quickly to tell her that everything was okay and I didn't see anything frightening at all.

So we made our way home, very very slowly as I wanted to make sure that there weren't insects in our small garden that would frighten anyone. It was a good quiet walk and I was glad we did it.

Walking outside

Bujang likes going downstairs to walk on the grass and chase pigeons. He always stops short of catching them
He walks up to them nonchalantly...
and he likes to watch them fly off. The pigeons oblige all the time :)
Tanaka does not like walking on grass. Nor does he like wide open spaces. The corridor is his favourite and whenever I show him the purple harness, he would race to the door and wait. Then after he has the harness on, he waits for me to put him outside for his walk :)
Totoro dislikes being outside and the last time that I had tried with him (last month), he tried to get into the house desperately. Although he told Fern (the aniamal communicator) that he would like to walk with me by his side, I think it will take some time yet.
Ultimately san...why don't you just bring me out everyday? I can take it!!

The only kitty who does not know how to use the harness is Megat. Ms Akira has her own colourful harness but she is an indoor cat at heart and does not walk outside at all.

The Tanaka Report

It has been a long time since my last report. I am shure you want to know what I have been up to. I have nuffing to add to the 'talkies' but san says I have been a good boy. I have not chased the girl cat or chased megat all week but I am B.O.R.E.D! I have also not peed in front of the closet and I know san is pleased with me as I have been out for 3 days in a row. WHEE! In this pikshur, I am resting after my walk yesterday.
I have been doing many fings outside. san is growing somefing in a pot but I fink its dead as I have not seen anyfing growing in there.
I have been eating some of grandma's plants. san tells me not to do it but I am a cool cat. Anyway I like greens. san is a little worried that I might get sick from eating bougainvillea leaves and I'm sure she would stop me soon but until then...
Last Sunday I saw Bujang in the window. See? I was quite surprised and couldn't believe my eyes!
I went nearer to investigate and then....
 WHAP! I jumped at him...
But it was too difficult to stay on the ledge. But I had FUN!
Then I decided to continue on my walk. It was quite relaxing.
I didn't eat the neighbour's plants though. They were still furry small. I don't think they neighbour would allow it!
I then walked up and down the stairs. It was furry good exercise.
I had a good time. san kept her promise to take me out when I am good. Maybe I should behave a lot more so I would get more walks. Hmmmmm....

The Tanaka Report

I would like to say that eversince san came home from Hanoi, she appreciates me more. She said she did not see many cats in Hanoi. Actually she saw only 2 in the 6 days that she was there. So I get to walk almost every afternoon along the corridor. Here I showed san what a good kitty  was.
I smelled the flowers and especially this little curry tree. san says when it grows bigger, we would have birds as birds like eating the curry pods for the seeds! Hmmm...bird pie! But I wanted to taste some of the yummy plants so I had to pretend that I was only melling them first. I had my eye on grandma's jasmine! So after the curry plant, I walked towards the jasmine...lalalalalala....
san was pleased to see me so appreciative offur our small garden. I continued to smell the jasmine. They do smell good though but I fink they will taste better.
san decided to take my pikshur from the top. Oh!Oh!
