My Saturday Adventures

Last Saturday was a good day for me. san's sister s came from far away and sat with grandma. This meant that san could take me for a morning walk. We had not been out walking in the morning for a LONG time. There were many things to see.
I decided to walk under the big mango tree in the park. san was very pleased and told me I was a 'good boy' for doing this. There were new smells but I didn't like them a lot and decided to walk along my old routes. It was a good thing cos I saw some animals which made this a great adventure.
san said it was a cockroach. She didn't let me play with it. But as it was not walking, I decided it won't be a lot of fun to play with it and I left it alone. san said I was a 'good boy.' I wonder why she said it many times..hmmmm
Then we saw my favrite animals with wings. I sometimes see them outside my window. At last...something good.
There were many pigeons here. san said someone had thrown down bread for them. 'BREAD!!" What kind of food is that. I prefur tuna.
Then we saw this yellow bird. san said it was a golden oriole, quite a common bird in Singapore. I had never seen this bird on the grass before. I don't think san knows the name as she told me 'maybe,' it was. I think san needs to read up on these birds so she can tell em about them.
After the pigeons, the golden oriole, then we saw the mynahs. they wree just eating and minding their own business, like me.
I told san that it was very strange to see the birds all in a row. san agreed but told me maybe they were waiting their turn to eat. Hmmm..I do not have to wait my turn and for that I think I am very lucky. I was thinking if there would be any more birds and then we saw...
some sparrows!
This is NOT a bird. It was a piece of tissue paper but I saw some ants on it. san said for me to get away as I might get botten by ants. Then san picked it up. She also had to pick up some dog poo which I found on the pavement. san said it would be best that we clean up as some people might think Minah, our community cat may have done it and may be mad at her! But I think these people wree not very good to leave their dog poo around for others to clean up after them.

Then I decided I wanted to eat some cow grass and we spent some time looking and choosing the juicy bits. I enjoye dthis part most of all. All in all I think I had had good adventure. WooHoo!

Bujang and the pigeons

Bujang had quite a good time last Saturday when we finally made it for our morning walk. It was very different in the morning as it was cool and the birds were out in full force. As usual Bujang tried to sneak up on the pigeons to very little success but I think he just enjoyed the adventure. His wagging tail and quivering ears told me so :)

I can see you!

Minah was not pleased at all that Bujang was on her turf and decided to keep us under her watchful eye. She followed us about and meowed her disapproval. Bujang was not aware of the surveillance but he sometimes caught her watching him and when that happened, he would stop and stare and go towards her. I had to stop him all the time as I was afraid Minah and Bujang would be too upset with each other. So I bundled him into his carrier and we went to the ixora park where another female calico watched him closely. She did not like him too and I didn't blame her and so we went home after 30 minutes of walking in the park. I didn't bring Tanaka down as I know Minah and him do not see eye to eye and he would be even more afraid of her,

Out in the park

I had parked the carrier close to the ixora bush so its easier for me to keep an eye on it...

Bujang decided on a new vantage point where he could see sll the happenings under cover...

Taking a rest after all that spying...

Finally! Some grass!

Maybe I can get something better in here...

Bujang did not protest when I bundled him into the carrier at 8.30 this morning to bring him to the park. We went to a new section but he didn't like it and told me to go to the usual place. Once there he stepped out and immediately went for the grass. The park is a little changed and there were new plants all round so Bujang spent some time exploring. We met an old man who wanted to take his pictures. Bujang of course suddenly became camera shy and refused to look at the man. It seemed the man's granddaughter liked cats but was a little afraid of the real thing. So the man takes pictures of cats to show her :)) I got some grass to bring home with me in case Bujang wanted some more. I had run out of cat grass. But Bujang did not like eating the grass at home at all. He only eats them when he is in the park. Funny kitty :)

Tanaka on the go go...

No san...I don't want to read a book, thanks...

I prefer just laying about on cool ceramic...

S_T_R_E_T_C_H
..yah we all need morning exercise...

Ok..enough already...is it time to nap?

Look san..there is something under the book..yah..yah..catch it...

Ok, so it didn't work. san wanted to read her book and so I decided to take nap in this nice new bed under her cupboard...its nice and private for a little kitty like me.

Our garden party

We don't have much of a garden. Its mostly grandma's potted plants and bourgainvillea but the amigos enjoy it. This morning, I watered the plants and the boys decided to investigate the effect of water droplets on leaves.

Bujang was the first to investigate...

Hmmm..do I dare do it?

Toro to his credit, jumped onto the tree but he had to take a breather as he was still rather afraid of the outside. I was surprised that he jumped up without much hesitation. I guess he was very curious about all that green outside the window.

Toro taking a deep breath....

Ooohhh..all that green..marvellous...

Tanaka also took a chance...

and discovered a different world :)

Ms Akira's saturday

Ms Akira looking at the garden...

I must say that Ms Akira is getting more sociable these days and much more inclined to actually spend some time with family. Her mellow mood has made the other kitties less wary of her and she herself is calmer in their presence. She actually made a point of being first at the open window and sat there looking outside for a little.

Ms Akira spending more time smelling the plants. She was very curious about them and spent time sniffing each one slowly.

No Fear!

Relaxing at the gates...

Peeking at our new neighbours!

Rocket and his tent

The usual chaos in the amigo house...Rocket is always in the thick of it...

Rolling...rolling...rolling...

Battle for Cubby Hole Fort

Bujang decided to rest in the cubby hole, away from traffic...

However the Rocket saw this and decided to fight a battle for Cubby Hole Fort!

Oh No! A fight!

Its mine Bujang! Get out!

Take this! and this! and this!

Got it!

This should be good.

A battle well-fought is a cat well-pleased :)

Twas a battle well-fought, twas quite a hurly-burly. But I am glad I stayed out of it.
