Tanaka's How-To #07

Its THAT time again. san told me that I should be able to do this by myself but I told her that I have to figure out the sequence properly and therefore I need a secretary...and one with thumbs who is able to spell (errr...you know san, you are not furry good yet and need the practice...practise your spelling!)

The How-To today is about HOW a cat can help the human to put the sub-Q fluids in order and count them. My two bruffers need sub-Q effury week - 3 times fur Toro and now twice for Megat and so san would have to put the bags in the right bins! Hmmmm....

When san brings the bags home - 10 sodium chloride 0.9 for Toro and 5 Hartmaan's Solution for Megat, the human cashiers would put them in several bags. I try t help san sort them out. I look them over furry carefully and then I give san the tally. Like so...

Here I am sitting next to san and telling her what are in the bags and what she should do with them. This takes some time as san also has IV tubes that she needs to count and I need to verify.
Last Saturday, my sidekick Totoro was not about. He does not like being near the bags as he is afraid that san would pick him up and give him the injeksion! So Big Bruffer Bujang decided he would help me. I was furry glad as this is a BIG job!
Then I asked Bujang if all was in order and if he counted the bags properly. Bujang said I was furry good in my counting and effurything was fine. So san was able to keep effurything quickly. But we were so tired after counting and counting. I told Bujang he could get some rest.

Phew! No more!
Because I did my job well, I can sleep without a care. I was careful enough already and need to keep my brains cool! I fink I deserved it.

On another note, we are furry gald to receive this award yesterday. san was furry tardy and so I gave her strict instructions to make sure this is done.

Tanaka How-To #4 The Stare-Down

I thot its time to do another one of my How-Tos. Last Saturday I decided to try out The Stare on my bruffer Megat. I learnt it from my bruffer Bujang but I fink I do it better.
First. Stare lazily at the Object. You can try it on your human but I prefur to try it on my bruffer Megat. The object must not know that you have somefing naughty or else it will go away! This is krucial (that means impawtant!)

Second. Slowly but surely tilt your head so the Object KNOWS that it is being stared at. You have to do this furry deliberately as if not your Object would not take you seriously.

Third. Lower your head towards your Object. It doe snot matter if the Object tries to ignore you. You know it is working when the Object turns his head away!

This is a close-up of The Stare.

Notice your ears must be up, your eyes stare seadily at the Object and your whiskers must all be in the right place- facing forward.

Four. Then crouch down low as if to spring! Then SPRING on the object quickly. DO not get entangled and fight. Just give the Object a shock! Then they know who is BOSS.

This Tanaka is getting more and more rude san. He chases me about and tries to bully me. He is ONLY four years old! I am 15! He gives me no respect!

How To #2 Make your human appreciate you...

This aftrenoon's lesson is a simple one: How to make your human love you without doing much work..heheeh...
When they are busy, you always need to be close enough to supervise. It does not matter if you just look at them. Human beings think they are furry interesting but they are actually not so. But YOU know that wif a few quick looks, you will be set fur life.

Always tell them what to look out fur, like dirt in between your cages or that they have missed a spot or so. Make sure they know this by frequently pawing at the cage. Human beings like direction and they will be grateful.

Then when all the dirt have been wiped away, stretch the whole length of whataver furniture you are currently on, preferably the one close enough to the offending furniture in question. This will signal that the job was done furry well indeed and that you have no further directions to give.

Always and I mean always look cute when efurrything is over. The human being will be pleased that you are pleased and they will leave you alone fur the rest offur the day to play. They will also give you a treat or more if you open your eyes wide and look at them. Human beings cannot resist us. You know and I know but let this be a secret between us cats.

How to #1 get stuff from boxes.

This is the #1 of my How-To series. I fink san needs help in blogging. She is always going on and on about meds. Enuf I says!

Step 1: Always be on the look-out for opportunities (ok san helped me wif this a little bit) for mischief...err...different ways to entertain yourself. You need to do this as your human may not be around 24/7.

Step 2: Poke around in any box that you find. You may see somefing good. Always poke about in a pretty box. This is where humans keep good fings away from you. Do not let them get away wif it!

Step 3: Look around you again for the signs that a human may be about. Sometimes a human walks in and then they try to stop you from doing what you want. This will happen whenever you see somefing good. Humans always try to take them away from you. Be careful.

Step 4: Once the coast is clear, dig about quickly! Lalalala....

SUCCESS! You may find somefing that you can play wif. Grab it quickly and run off. Play wif it for a bit and make sure to hide it under the bed or table where a human can only find it when they spring-clean thoroughly. Usually only about twice a year.
