 He came to sniff at us some of the time.

 His mum tried to get him to sit with us as we were his previous caregivers when he was a commcat, but we knew knew everyone should take it slow as he might not want to remember his life then as well. he stayed here for a bit.

 And was up here, looking at us from a safe distance. We didn't want to make a fuss and even when he was a commcat, he was an alpha and didnt like fussing as well.

He finally decided we were ok and sat with us for a few minutes.

The last week of December has not been kind to Cody (who was adopted by Constance 3.5 years ago). His mum found him early one morning, about 4 ish am, unable to walk. Horrified she brought down his carrier and he immediately crawled into it without being carried inside. She knew right then that he was in a serious state and brought him to the specialist vets. After investigations, they found blood clots in his kidneys and veins. He was given a thinner and the next day fortunately the clots resolved itself but he was hospitalised for the week. They found an enlarged heart. He was not eating much. 

His blood tests showed that his kidneys were fine and there was nothing else that was wrong so his mum brought him home with medication, a blood thinner and diuretics. His mum is still waiting for his sonagram to bring him for a second opinion. 

He has now begun eating again, now that he has been home for about 2 weeks and is re-learning how to interact with his fursister Halley and his human brother. 

We visited him at his home yesterday and he looked very well, albeit thinner. He used to have muscles and now we could feel his bones much more clearly. His mum is trying to fatten him up again.  He looked really well and was walking about the house. He also showed us that he could eat a lot more as he had his 2nd dinner when we were there. Although his doctors could not tell us how long he will stay with us, with his heart problems, both human and cats are just taking it slow.

Ms Monday on Tuesday

Our rescue kitty Ms Monday is at Guest Haus, a cat facility that also has an adoption room for kitties in need of of a home. She is now sterilised (she was in heat before in the carpark) and is an adorable and sweet kitty who is chatty and loves people. She is going for a blood test to check for FIV/Felv as well as vaccination. If she is negative for both, she would be put on their adoption room with other cats. We are not putting her back in the carpark as she would not survive that. Commcats who are too friendly with people live very dangerous lives. 

Easy Peasy and Jeffrey

It is my duty to do today's post as it concern Jeffrey. I knew him from the time I was a commcat myself. 

Jeffrey went to his 3rd adoption event at the 'Old is Gold' do.  San and another friend C got lost because of poor instructions given by the organizers and got to the event one hour from the time they were supposed to be there. It was very hot by this time and as they were under a tent, it was just trapped heat. 

Jeffrey was panting by the time he was put in the cage although there were cooling gel packets and ice in the cage. Later on , at about 1.30 or so he was better. 

He wore the special collar San bought for him as well. 

San gave him Bujang's tag COURAGE cos San thinks he needs it most of all.

What was wonderful was the potential adopters came to see him and his potential 'mom' was very pleased. San will be going for a house visit next Tuesday to see if the house is cat-proof.  We are hopeful that he doesn't have to go to another adoption event at the end of this week.

Our Sunday was Easy Peasy. We are grateful we have a home and pray that Jeffrey will get a home by next week. Please pray for him. 

Tuesday Thots

Arggggghhhhh!

We had to clean the surrounding of her eyes with saline solution as she was rubbing them all day yesterday. In the evening she could not even open her right one. We also gave her some lycine powder with her minced chicken which she ate enthusiastically as well. This morning her eyes were no more watery nor the surrrunding red. the days have been very hot as well and she could have had dust in her eyes.

While I was looking for more pictures of Jeffrey Boy, I saw this one of Popps when she was Putih and still a comcat. She has so much space to explore. She must have had some good adventures then.

Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks

We are just lying low today as we heard a huge clap of thunder. This means that there will be rain to wash away the heat and dust. 

But before that we want to give thanks for the tents which were a present from the Katnip Lounge kitties. Bujang has been sleeping in it everyday and Tanaka sits in it to watch Akira.

We also want to give thanks for being indoors away from many dangers - rain and heat and hunger. We know this as the comcat Putih is still with us. She has been here for a whole month to recuperate from her wounds. Eventhough now her wounds are healed, she still has some pain there and the site is still itchy She told Fern yesterday and so she is getting some more rest away from downstairs. 

 She doesn't have her collar now her wounds are healed. San brought her to the vet yesterday so that the vet can look at it and the vet said she would be ok now to go back. Putih also had a blood test and she is FIV-Felv negative. The blood panel showed some deterioration of her liver and her kidney indicator is 2.4. So there was some good and bad news. She is now about 10 years old as san had taken care of her for that number of years and now she has become slower and in greater danger of being bitten as she is not as fast nor as alert. San asked us the BIG question yesterday and she said everyone must agree or it will not happen. 

           Can Putih live with us?

I told san that she knows it will be  a tight squeeze as there are already 3 of us. Where will she hang out? Can we live with a warrior cat who had to fight off other cats to survive? Will she hurt us? I have much to think about as I am number 1 cat and I need to make some big decisions. San said she will have to make the decision fast as the longer she is with us the more difficult it would be for her to get back to her own territory and she may lose it to the cats who attacked her before. Hmmmm...
