Tanaka reacted quite surprisingly. He actually went into the house after about 15 minutes outside and decided to sit close to the gate. He is a fearless kitty and would not run for anything. I took it that he heard grandma doing the washing and wanted to hear the sounds from the washing machine whirring away. But he also wanted to see the outside and so he came up with this strange compromise. THAT is the only reason that I can come up with for his strange behaviour :)

Our day outside this Sunday

Family time
Actually relaxing in the room, sitting next to Toro!
I do not know if the Remedy has anything to do with her desire to be with others these days. She has frequently seeked them out as well as us and she would spend some time with us. She is also asking quite vocally for more attention and so we try our best to be with her, even if we have to sit with her on the kitchen floor.

The boys Outside
Toro posing for pictures :)
The boys had to find their feet again after not being outside for so long. They were confused about where the plants were supposed to be and spent some time sniffing at the walls...new smells I guess. Bujang did not like the new positions and spent much of his time sniffing the ground and sitting about.
Ms Akira Outside
No harness!! No way Little Ms!
Ms Akira decided to join the boys outside for a bit. She came outside quietly and did not protest when I put her in her harness. Then she stepped out and walked slowly but close enough to the house...just in case. Tanaka was a little wary but relaxed when she ignored him and sniffed at the plants instead....

Thank you for the sun Mr God
I thought the boys would appreciate some time outside. The day being clear was a gift that we couldn't take for granted and so once everyone was safely harnessed and leashed, I got them all outside. There were some scary moments for them when they heard strange footsteps and lifts doors sliding open. The neighbours walked past once or twice but they managed to explore the outside for a whole hour. Then they heard loud noises and bangings from some renovation works. This spooked them quite a bit and they decided that all that noise was too scary.

CNY Eve
Amigos taking a break...and looking out for enemies...
Tanaka looking at grandma's garden...
No worries little bruffer...just sit behind me...
What is that hanging on the wall? Can I eat it?
You are my bruffer...you can't leave me alone!
Sigh..okok..you can let go of my leash now...
Bujang taking a whiff of the pandan leaves...hmmmSince I had half day on the eve, I got home early and thought the boys might want to go along the corridor to hang out for a bit. After all of them were dressed (and they were all very well-behaved indeed), they were all allowed to walk about along the corridor to get some air. Tanaka was a little uncertain and lagged behind the boys although he later found his courage and decided to explore a little. The boys were very tolerant when he pounced on their leashes and stopped them from walking off. They were some starts and stops all through the duration of their time outside but no one seemed to mind. Toro was quite good-humoured and stopped every time Tanaka pounced on his leash, thus not allowing him to move wherever he wanted to. Tanaka did not bother Bujang as much though :) Later some neighbours had to walk to the lifts and throw stuff and the boys decided it was too nerve-wrecking to stay outside so I bundled them all into the house where they promptly went to sleep!

Rocket Tanaka taking the breeze
What's all these smells...hmmm..hmmm
I am afraid...can we go home?
I am The Rocket...I am brave..a little bit...
But san...what is that sound?
I think its time I lay low...I thought that it was time Tanaka went Outside with Bujang. I was glad that Cousin R came to the house much earlier than usual and with her help, we brought both Bujang and Tanaka with us. At first Tanaka was nervous, preferring to be near his carrier but I brought him to the grass and he took to it quite soon. There was a time where he was frightened but that was because the kids came home from school and rushed and screamed the park down! After a few minutes, he calmed down and lay low, craning his neck gingerly when he heard sounds and noises. Bujang was no help as he was absorbed with eating grass and smelling the ixora. He also re-discovered his love of watching the neighbourhood kids play football. We were out for 30 minutes by which time it was 6.20 pm and time to go home for dinner. I think all of us had a nice day out this evening.
