Lost Community Cat_now found

We could not find Putih for 4 days already. At first we were not worried as she had sometimes gone missing for 2 days on end and not appeared for dinner but this time she has gone missing for 4 days! Some children told us there was a newly abandoned and very fierce kitty in the school (her homeground) and so she may have left because of this. Cousin R and I and 2 other cat caregivers had gone round the estate looking for her to no avail. But just like our previously 'lost' cat Grey, she may come back later. At least this is what we hope for. Cats sometimes travel to other places for safety although she must have been stressed out to have gone away from her usual haunts and miss dinner unless some other caregiver is looking after her now. All our other cats are not 'lost' and so we don't think its the AVA or TC or pest control especially after the increased interst in animal welfare (Chong Pang) after the GE.

I have placed a notice in the CWS site using these two pics just now now and so I hope someone would have news of her.

PostNote
We are glad to report that after 4 long days, Putih showed up this morning. We got the news from M, one of the caregivers who feed her. M said she was not eating much and when Cousin R fed her at dinner, she had very little appetite for food, just nibbling. Cousin R said Putih was not sick, just a little thin and rather dirty but she ran off into the school right after her few bites of food (So she could not have been too scared of the new cat). We will know more tomorrow. We now suspect that she may have been relocated by someone in mischief. This had happened before to one of our cats (from news that we gathered from the neighbours). This is because it is unthinkable that a cat like Putih would disappear for many days and she knows the territory. She must have travelled far to get back! We are just glad she is home.

Kitty for adoption

For adoption here. This is Dada. She is really one of the most handsome kitties I have ever seen. I remembered my desire of having at least one persian kitty (a very long long time ago) but now I that I have the amigos, I have no place for another adopted kitty. She looks extremely regal. A cat who knows whats what- unlike Totoro..hahaha

Flyers

I am not buying that!

This moring I went out to put some Cat Welfare Society flyers on 2 blocks of flats. I got there a little late as I got a little lost. But finally we all met (all 3 caregivers) and started to put the flyers onto the front gates and weeee also managed to speak to some of the residents about taking care of their pet cats in a more responsible manner. Some people spoke to us politely about their issues but there was one resident who said if he ever saw a cat, he would kick it! WHAT?

I think when he saw that we were very shocked that he would even say that he very quickly said that he had never kicked a cat but had chased one 'upstairs' before. When I asked him if a cat had ever peed or pooed at his front door, he said this had never happened but 'cats always do that.' I tried to tell him that this was not true but he ranted on saying that the SPCA should come to get the cats.

Anyway we saw some residents with cats outside their houses and advised them that it would be better if their indoor cats remain indoors. All in all it was not as scary as I first thought it might be.None of us had ever placed flyers door to door nor spoken to people about their cats in such a situation.

Rocket Tanaka in the CWS bulletin board

Hmmm..I wonder what will happen. I think I will miss harassing the amigos but new day..new horizons..new things to do :)

The post for Rocket Tanaka appeared today on the CWS website
He's cropped a little but his bright eyes still stare quite nicely from the page :) thanks to the hardworking people at CWS. Thanks Dell. :)
Today he is going for his 2nd vaccination with Bujang. Bujang is the only amigo with an annual vaccination as he goes down to the park with me, although we have not been to the park for about 6 months. :( The Dec rains make it quite impossible to go to the park these days too. Grandma kept saying that the grass is too wet and Bujang might not want to go out, which is true of course.

Rocket Tanaka posted on cws site

You chose THIS picture?

I posted his adoption details on the cws site this morning with this picture as I could not find the cutesy Pic 2 in my desktop. Thsi pic shows him as he truly is, cute and energetic and so I hope the potential adopters can see what they would be getting (as much as they can from a mere pic) I am rather worried after reading the horror stories about people who adopt cats but I guess I have to make an effort at finding him a home.
The post is to the point.
Rocket Tanaka; 3-month old male ginger. Abandoned on Deepavalli by 3 kids. He is sociable, happy and likes to play. He is affectionate and would give you kisses before he goes to sleep every night. Gets along with other cats. He is dewormed and has had 2 vaccinations to date. He is on both canned and dry food. Foster will sponsor the last vaccination and sterilisation costs.
