It is not often that I get Ms Akira in action. She likes to wait for the lure to get to her and then POUNCE! GOTCHA!

Tanaka How To #05_Secret Drawer

Its time for my further instructions of How To Get What YOU Want...

Drawers are tricky fings. You don't know what is inside them all unless you pay close attensiun to effurything that happens in the house. As a watch_cat, I am furry attentive and sees that san keeps my wand toy in it. Effury morning she opens this drawer and I sieze my chance.
Now for the instructions:

1. Make sure your human is occupied so she would not close the drawer. san also keeps her brush in this drawer and as soon as she brushes her hair, I make sure that she sees me inspecting the drawer carefully to see where the toy is. This is an impwtant step as your human must see that YOU are concerned about your toys. This makes them feel warm and fuzzy about you and immediately forget their own concerns.

Ah-hah. THAT is my peacock feather wand toy. I lurve it furry much. If I can get it out, san will have no choice but to play wif me.

2. Once you locate your toy, make sure your human notices you. Its no use if they ignore your effort. So make sure you SHOW them that you are a little kitty who needs a lot offur help in getting your toy out. Paw at it a little to show _desperation. Human beings are always willing to help a despearte kitty and if you're cute as well, you may get in some play time before your human goes to work. 3. Make sure you get a good grip of the edge of the drawer. This would allow you to perch steadily and NOT fall. Falling off only makes your human laugh and then they would forget that they need to play wif you.

4. Once you know your human had seen you and how desperately you want to play, RELAX. This is an impawtant step. You have to make your human feel a little sad that you seem to lose hope. THIS will make them want to help you get your toy and then play with you so you would be happier.

5. Look at the toy that you human helped you to take out offur the drawer. Look sad until they move it about and asks you to play. "Here Tanaka..c'com..kitty...."

WHEEEEEE! All done.

In the Meantime...

I was furry bored all this time. san is never home and didn't play wif me much. I fink she has too much work and then she has to go see grandma. I am glad grandma will be home this Friday. I fink I would have more time wif san then.
I tried to persuade san to play wif me. she gave me this blanket and it smells offur us. It was a good blankie.

We played catch the paw. I was furry fast and gotched san's paws all the time.
Hehehe...I am a good hunter! I am invisible!
I hope to have many more good times wif san.

Megat at play

Megat found some paper and decided to have some fun with it...

This is our first video of Megat having fun and playing by himself...

Megat's confidence has grown tremendously from the 1st time he came to live with us. Now he is BOSS of his own territory, he is first to dinner and he in almost any place that he wants to, even on Bujang's blankets. He learnt to play about 5 to 6 months after he lived with us and these days,Megat would even find his own toys to play with. The boys would leave him alone when he plays by himself although these days he loves to chase the boys about in the evening and they him so we would have quite a noisy game of cat chase:) This is the cat who has FIV, survived lymphoma and has asthma. Not bad for a 14-year old kitty!

Is it time yet?

Toro giving me the laser eye treatment...

Since Toro is not a fan of the Outside (eversince his escape and subsequent capture), he does not get a chance to see a change of scene, unlike Bujang or Tanaka. So he would ask, sometimes loudly, but almost always in a most piteous meow, for me to get his Da Bird or for me to groom him. He loves Da Bird as much as he loves getting brushed so as long as I comply with either one, he is a happy kitty.

The routine on a good day is (a) get Bujang to the park (b) bring Tanaka for a walk along the corridor as he has yet to like grass or strange noises (c) play with Toro with Da Bird (d) allow Megat to slip and slide while he tries to catch Da Bird and (e) sit with Ms Akira so she can cuddle with me for a bit. On any day, I can manage at least 3 with varying success. Sometimes Tanaka and Megat play with Da Bird together, with Tanaka doing the flying leaps and Megat doing the slip and slide sneak attacks. This would be a very good day for everyone. I hope to have a few more very good days in February with the amigos.

The light box!! Oh noooo...

Bujang took to being photographed again with good grace. This toy generated some interest but only for 5 minutes. Then he decided to rest until he got the Styrofoam ball . Its very light and he likes batting it around. But never give it to him at night as the noise coud drive anyone crazy.

Megat ...is that you?

For the first time Megat raced about the house ...PLAYING! by himself ! He created a great deal of interest in Tanaka and Bujang was so shocked that he took to hiding under the table. This Megat is full of surprises!

Yes, it was a good morning and so I thot I would sit here. I had a good view offur the outside...

Well, then I thot I would help with cleaning the house...

I tried the box. san wanted to throw it away...

I told her its good to recycle...so now I have the box to play in...for now...

Hide and Seek

Hide and seek under a blanket. This is his favourite game. He would sometimes lie in the blanket until I notice him, which could take some time...but he is very patient always...

I spent some time with Ms Akira today as she was asking me for some time. We sat on the bed and spoke about life in general. Ms Akira then decided she would take a nap . She was indeed a cat of very few words :)

Yup..I lurve this little ball thing...

Bujang found his favourite toy of all time - its light and he can throw it up in the air easily. He prefers to play this game by himself and tonight, not even Tanaka tried to wrest this from him. This little square thing was from cat_aunty a long time ago. She gave this to the amigos at christmas and we still have it. I hide it from Bujang and take it out for him at intervals so he won't get bored :) Bujang literally tore the house down but then he is allowed to do this as he hardly ever does it these days.

Toro's usual song and dance when he knows its time to get out Da Bird as he gets to fly in the air doing cartwheels (his fav). He always looks at me meaningfully and would even meow plaintively so I would follow. he would then lead me to THIS cupboard door only and wait, looking at me with his blue eyes. When he hears me saying, " Toro..Toro..Toro", he knows it time to play :)
