Manic Megat

Megat on a good relaxing day of rest...
Toro minding his own business...
Tanaka: I am NOT involved. I am concerned wif offur fings...

These last few weeks Megat had been on the rampage and had beaten up Toro several times. I don't know what has happened between them apart from the fact that these 2 cats have never seen eye to eye on anything. Toro is always on Megat's tail (literally) and Megat has finally decided to give him a beating. At least I think this is what had happened but I don't know for sure.

Megat would really go out of his way to confront Toro and fur has been flying all around (mostly Toro's) I had to put him on time-outs several times and had sternly told him "NO Megat," but it has not worked as well as I had hoped. Now Toro has a litte rash on his underside and I think it might be the result of over-grooming or stress but I would need to investigate this rash further. I just saw it this morning when I had to give Toro his meds. I would probably put some cream that the vet had given me for him some time ago when he had rash near his ears.

The other thing could be that I think Megat knows Toro is not well as he caould see Toro being medicated everyday and cats are smart. I think that is also why Toro gets beaten up because a weaker cat is an easier cat to bully. Tanaka of course has been on Megat's case but the both of them are easy with each other.

Family Spat

Toro the Blur one
Megat the Gangsta Kitty

I do not know why Megat has decided that harassing Toro would be the be all and the end all of his existence. One the reasons could be that Toro is the only kitty who seemed afraid of him. Tanaka shows no fear of any one, any cat or anything. Bujang is too big for him and Ms Akira is seldom seen outside of her abode.

Yesterday, after his meds and lingzhi he walked towards Toro with great purpose and determination. I saw him and decided to tell him to stop. He stopped for a bit and decided that as I was far away from him, that it would probably be worth it to give Toro some slaps- and he did! He cornered Toro between the carrier and his cage and proceeded to box him several times, stopping only when he saw me getting nearer to him. I managed to scoop him up and reprmand him and he was immediately put inside his cage. Thankfully it was already 9.45 pm and bedtime was at 10.00 so he had no time to plot anything else as all the kitties know bedtime and wait for it.

Grandma's 2 cents is that Megat is taking revenge for the many times that we had rescued Toro from being beaten up by him. We all of us know Toro's "Don't beat me up or I will tell san" cry and almost always it would be when Megat is on the verge of beating him up.

Apart from some of Toro's fur flying, no blood was shed :)

Skirmishes on the eastern front

No he is just exaggerating. I only did it once.
I am telling you the truf. He bullied me many times. I am no liar san.

Ever since Megat came home from the hospital, he had been on Toro's case, slapping him and intimidating him. I had to quarantine him several times but only when I catch him at it. Usually, when Megat shows any tough act, I would just reprimand him firmly with a NO!Megat. NO! and Megat would stop. But not these days.

This morning, when Megat flew at Toro, I had to put him in his cage and ignored him. He got his breakfast last, which he did not like at all. He did not talk to me for the whole day, even when I went to see him under the table. He only decided to sit with me after dinner and his meds and then he sat quite companionably with Toro but only for about 5 minutes.

Maybe its the steroids!
