Ms Akira and me...

Ok..let me think about what I am going to do tonight...

I'll just sit with san to watch TV together...

or maybe just hang out together...

Ms Akira sat with me last night for a bit. We were watching Profiler. It was nice to sit with my cat. Ms Akira asked for scritches which she got and I gave her some treats. It was quiet and restful for the both of us.

Ms Akira was quite vocal today and wanted to get out of her night cage to romp about the house. She groomed herself for abit and is now exploring the kitchen - prob up to mischief as there was just a loud bang in the kitchen. I don't mind. I am just glad she feels better. It is a good Hari Raya Haji present. :)

Sunday night frolics

It is also much more stable than the Marukan I had before...

Ms Akira was her usual active self last night. she spent a whole hour just hanging out and climbing. Of course she also tried to peek at the boys from under the door. Bujang as usual made quite a scene by grumbling loudly into the night as I was outside with Ms Akira. Bujang wants everyone to be in their places before he sleeps :)

Ms Akira actually went into the cage by herself and so I asked her to rest. She sat quietly in the cage minding her own business with no trouble until it was time to switch off all the lights for bed. :)

Our nightly routine

Ok..maybe I just relax a bit and look at the night...

Ms Akira enjoys her nightly excursions in the house. Bujang used to complain about being shut up in the room but now he is quiet and so are the rest of the boys. I think they hear her outside as she always peeps into the bedroom via the opening under the door.

The nightly routine is I put Megat to bed first. Ms Akira knows this is the signal for her to jump off from wherever she is to stretch and wait for me to carry her to her bed. Then I give each of them their night snack. The rest of the boys know this is their signal for them to go to bed. Bujang and Toro would folow me to the kitchen, fight and wrestle with each other and then follow me to the room where each of them would get their own night snack. Then Tanaka would race into the room for his. Tanaka knows his place and would wait for everyone to get their food before he eats his.

Then once everything and everyone is settled, I would go out again and Ms Akira would request to be let out. I would allow her about 1 hr outside for her to run and jump or for as long as I am doing work in the living room.

Then its time for bed for everyone. :)

Ms Akira and the bastant basket...

Hmm..what is it?

Ooohhh..its fur me to sharpen my nails...it feels good...

Ms Akira uses the bastant to her heart's content at night. She now uses it when she is out prowling the living room by herself, which is every night after the boys have been put to bed. The bad thing is she gets only about one hour to enjoy her relative freedom of not being the object of attention from Tanaka (most times), Toro (sometimes) and Megat (whenever he feels brave enough).

She sometimes comes out into the living room in the afternoons to sleep on top of her night quarters or use the boards or even sit infront of the gate but not often enough to satisfy Tanaka's curiosity about her so he still waits for her to appear and if she does not, he would go look for her.

I sometimes think Ms Akira would do very well as an only cat but of course now that is impossible as she has 4 boys to live with :)

Btw, the bastant is not seeing very much use the boys are all used to it and see it as an every day thing. Toro still sleeps in the smaller one. I bought another bigger one for Bujang and now he uses that one. He still tears the cardbord and spits them out but at least all the torn remnants are in the basket for easy disposal. This basket is also big enough for him to sleep in or sit in with enough space for him to move around.

When I bought it from Ikea, someone asked me what I would use it for. "Is it for clothes," she said. I told her it was for my cat. She looked surprised at first and then smiled. :))
