Thursday Thots

This morning San is on medical a leave for cough. She was coughing so much her colleagues begged her to go get help and she did. So we went down for a short walk. I had a good time enjoying the quiet with San.

I also like bicycles as they smell of distant places.

I am glad she figured out it is better to be on the bed than under it. Tanaka was in the computer room so she had more courage to walk about. But right after the incident where Tanaka bit her behind she became more afraid of him and did not walk about the house as comfortably as before the incident. This one incident had undone many weeks of work to get her comfortable to be outside with him and to get him to accept her. 

Ms Akira is slow to trust and is extremely cautious of new things. Tanaka forgets things easily and does not always think of others before 'fun'. But he is not stressed being in the computer room although he said he is very curious about the outside.

Popps is wearing the collar because of she is over grooming a little. Her belly is minus fur but not as much as Akira's.

Last night the kitties were all up even after 8 as there was a Chinese funeral across our flat, at the void deck. Sudden bursts of pipes and clashes of cymbals made the boys anxious. Bujang was on alert the whole time and Tanaka although more relaxed did not sleep. Only the girls were not bothered. Bossy Boots fell asleep almost immediately after I gave her the night snack in the study and Ms Akira was grooming as usual.

The pipes lasted until almost 10 pm though. It has been quite some time ago that I heard pipes and chanting. These days funerals are apt to be just a few people sitting at tables quietly and watching over the coffin of the deceased.

Tomorrow is Hari Raya. Our house will be busy with guests and there will be a lot of noise. So I am taking time out today as I might have to play host again. I am Boss and it's what I do.

Today we are super excited to see Jeffrey again at his trial home. He has been there for a whole week and it's time to see for ourselves if he feels comfortable in his potential home with Halley, the supercat. 

We have good news from his potential adopters and it seems he is doing very well indeed. There was only one spat when Jeffrey tried to get close to them and Halley did not like that. But that is only natural. 

So we are very hopeful. Fingers crossed everyone.

    Relaxing by the door for the breeze

It has been a very hot these past few days and everyone is feeling it, cat and human both. But we try our best to get as much breeze as we can. There have been loud thunders but no rain where we live although in different parts of the island there was heavy rainfall.  

The kitties are all well and thankfully there were no spats. We have not been blogging as there are exams and I have hurt my wrist a little with too much computer work.

Also we have been communicating with a potential adopter for Jeffrey and are optimistic except there is a 'landlord' problem that we need to solve. So whether Jeffrey has a new home by the end of this month is dependent on a landlord agreement. We do not know how this will end finally. We hope it would end well for Jeffrey as we found that he is also FIV+. A senior kitty who is also FIV+ is more than difficult to place. He has 2 adoption events this month and two next month. This weekend for the 'Old is Gold' event, his potential adopters will be there to see him in person. I hope all goes well then. 

Thursday with Popps

I have been a very busy cat. I decided to supervise san when she was doing chores. Here I was giving her tips on laundry. I can't imagine how much laundry the beans have every week. san says most of it belong to us kitties but I'm not so sure.

I had also sat to look at her cleaning skills. I must say she was thorough as I could sit comfortably on the kitchen floor to rest. Of course I was also waiting for a treat of beef. That was why I was near the fridge.

This was clean linen day. I had a nap in moonlight.

This is my vantage point. I sit here when the beans are busy with chores in the kicthen or when they're cooking. I remind myself  that it is probably better to be a kitty (in a good home)

san took this picture of me last week as she was preparing to celebrate Chinese New Year. I had to remind her that the first day of Spring was only yesterday and so Chinese New Year would be in two weeks. Sheesh! Even_I_ know that.

All in all I must say that everything is satisfactory and I am glad to be here where everyone loves me and I have a home. Now the only other thing is for me to convince san to stop cleaning my ears. She said I had gunk in there and it was unhealthy. I reminded her that I am 10 years old and had never been sick in all that time (except for a few fights with other cats). Secretly though I am glad to have someone wo would do all this for me (she told Craig that) but I have to keep up appearances!

Fern: I spoke to Putih. She said she would love to do more exercise. I showed her the cat teasing toy and she is interested. She said she likes to look for birds. But she may not play with the toy so suddenly but she likes the idea. Still shy a bit.

I had played with her using the bird lure. She is quite interested and would run after it but she would always stop short of catching it. She would meow when she tries to catch the lure as well.

I am glad to be seeing you again. I thought san would not have time so I sat in front of her and insisted she took my picture. San has been busy with exams after school and countless meetings. She has been tardy in taking me out for my walks as well. I hope she means it when she said that next week would be better for walks and such but she knows I will be keeping a keen eye on her!

This week san said would be the last week that I get to go downstairs in the morning as she starts work next week. I made the most of the morning, eating grass that is still green and juicy. I was minding my own business until I saw this sign. 

 

             Hmmmmm I wonder if cats can get dengue! 

         

I decided to get into my carrier and see the world from inside it. You do not know what these mosquitoes will get up to.

There are many fings that I think about. Offur course today I waited for Akira to come to the living room to play. We were having leash training and I was in the pink cat tent. She didn't see me as she was too busy trying to come close to san but she stopped short when she saw the leash!!! THAT was a tragedy. If not for the leash and san seated next to me and telling me to lick and yawn to calm myself, I would have got her. Sheesh!!

                         

San comes home late from work every day this week. But today I got to sit close to her on the couch. I was pretty glad as I have a nice home and a person who loves me. If only Tanaka would behave himself!

San jus came home from work and she told us- let's just post one pic for the blog today ok?

So here I am today resting on my sisfur's night cage. San said tomorrow I would get to go out as she brought out my bruffer Bujang this evening. Here is just one pic of Bujang. 

  

He went upstairs to visit the neighbours. 

  

San took this pikshur of me yesterday. I think san will turn in early tonight which means all if us will as well.

Today we are just resting. Here I am resting in front of my house when san took me for my morning walk. It was very quiet today unlike yesterday when I could hear a lot of shouting and people walking about. I like it better today as it is quiet and good for the spirit.

Thankful Thursday

I try to re-arrange the boxes once or twice a month so the amigos have different ways to get up to the top of the cage:) I then decided to put a nice blanket in one of the cubby holes in case a kitty wishes to take a nap.

 And indeed this little one has been napping here quite a bit :) It's a quiet private space and allows him (when he is awake) to see everyone in the living room and kitchen.

 Megat prefers a lot more colour at nap time.

Ms Akira, as usual, prefers a nice blanket to sleep under.

On this day of Thanksgiving, we give thanks for everyone here who are safe and of course for all other kitties and their beans.

I know the cat people say that my whiskers will be the same length my width (!!). Does this mean if I ask for more food, my whiskers will be sweeping the floor san? Btw, if I am nice to the little girl, do I get more food?

Will san (mommy) give me more food if I behave and be nice to the 'little girl' (Ms Akira) is the question he perpetually asks Fern, even at Reiki. But he is quite fussy in his food preferences and would make us open several tins sometimes before he would even eat. He does eat the renal kibble readily though but I have to source out for no-grain kibble soon as none of the cats in the house have renal problems. They all ate renal kibble because our kitty Totoro had renal failure due to oxalate crystals in his kidneys.
