For today I found a picture of Akira when she had all of her fur. So I thought we should just have a Just Because picture. She was about 4 or 5 years old in this picture. She has been overgrooming for so long that it quite surprised me to chance on this picture of her, with all her fur, from such a long time ago.
It's lovely to see you with all that fur on your legs, Akira!

ReplyDeleteYou are such a beautiful kitty, hair or no hair. If you could stop grooming your skin might feel more protected. No matter what, we love you.
ReplyDeleteI agree hair/no-hair is not a problem as long as over-licking does not cause serious hairball problem. One of our cats is like Ms Akira, only worst as he was once bald except for hair on the head. Many vet visits later, the best option is baths (no shampoo or very mild one) on alternate days (used to be daily) with very light organic virgin coconut oil applied. He has active oil gland problem. This has been like this for 3-4 years (very tiring job) but no more bruised skin & good hair (not important). The minute we take off the collar, he licks (he is allowed that for a short time after bath). We tried many collars/supplements/shampoos, no solution. May i add that coconut oil is amazing for hair.
