TGIF
This morning we spent the time together before breakfast. There were some birds outside our window.
Adrian, our osteopath, said yesterday that I seem to be the most healthy of all the kitties. I am very proud of that. He said my spine is not stressed anymore but I showed him that I had some trouble with my hind legs. Adrian taught san how to put her palm on my back and how to massage me there 3 times a week. He said it would relax my muscles more. He called me Tiger and told everyone who asked after me that I was a beautiful kitty and kind as well. He is RIGHT! My sister Akira's spine is also looking good and she is also much more relaxed and growing more affectionate. I know she does not like walking out much and prefers sitting on san's lap at night.

I am suspicious offur the white cat. I dunno why she is still here. I know she walks my house as I can hear her from my bedroom. Thank Goodness It's Friday. She only has a few more days here.

Tanaka at the osteopath
Zzz after my osteopath appointment.
Adrian told san that she should massage my spine effuryday so I have less chance of getting spinal trouble. He has 2 other cats with slipped disc problems and so he told san we should also be careful.
He said prevention is better as I am a kitty who likes to jump over fings and fly up onto fings as well. Offur than that I am in tip top shape. But now I am just too sleepy fur anyfing else.
This is my osteopath Adrian giving me a massage. I decided to get out offur my carrier and I took a walk but I stopped for Adrian.

Tuesday Thots
We want to thank everyone who has thought kindly about our comcat Putih. We think she would be well enough in one or two days to go back. We ourselves are very well and are glad to be loved and healthy.
Our friend Fern had spoken to Putih and we are glad that she knows she is here to get better and is comfortable. She is now making a lot more noise which means she is ready to go home. We have told her to run away from the bad kitties and not stay to fight them as she may get hurt again. But of course we do not know what will happen in future. We are just glad we were able to help her for a bit.

Easy Peasy Sunday
This week was a little eventful. We spent quite a lot of it just in the living room as san told us our guest, Putih, needed a lot of time to rest. She was very quiet and only hissed at us if we went too near her cage so we left her alone. We hope she has a good rest and gets well. One thing we are glad is that we all have a home and we do not have to fight gangster cats.
I am a little afraid of Putih. I know she is in the kitchen and I have been to the kitchen several times to look at her. She is quite fierce and would hiss at me. san tells me I need to help her get better so she can go home. So I spend my time in the bedroom at the cat seat. I told Fern I did not want anuffer girl cat in my house. I was a little confused why she was here but after talking to Fern I know she needed some place safer to get well and san would also have an easier time to clean her wounds.
I was a little curious about Putih. I went to see her several times when she was in her cage but she kept hissing at me. I didn't hiss back as I knew she needed to rest for a bit in our house. So I usually have food in the living room now instead of in the kitchen. Life for me goes on as usual and that is good. I don't think we need another cat in the house and I told Fern this already and I know Fern has told san. I told Fern a long time ago that I think now is the time for me to get more attention from san as before my rainbow brothers had a lot of her attention as they were not well. But I am glad Putih is safe here to get better.
Here I am looking after grandma. I saw that she was asleep yesterday and so I sat here to make sure that she had a good sleep. My week has been quiet as usual. I am not afraid of our guest Putih as Fern and san told me that all she needed was a safe place to get well. I understand such things and leave her alone to get better without snooping about at the cage. So I did my bit as a good host. I know that when the sliding door to the kitchen is open Putih would either be in her cage or in the bathroom resting so I would just sit on top of my fridge as usual. But I did ask san for a lot more attention and I am glad that she remembers to sit with me every night. I know she sits with Putih a little but at night as well but that is okay.
Our last picture is of our guest Putih. She is calm but san thinks she may be a little sad as she is not used to being in a house at all and our space is of course small for her. She is used to big open spaces.
san: She goes out into the kitchen but loves to be in the bathroom and would go there as soon as we open the cage. One of her wounds has healed very well but there is still a small hole not closed up yet. I have not been able to take a good picture of the other side but even that is healing well. Grandma is much taken with her pretty face and quiet manner :)

Saturday Easy
We thought today we should just post pictures offur ourselves wif just a note to say the white cat Putih is doing well and san should be able to release her next week. These were taken this morning when we were out walking except for Akira who decided to surprise Bujang after he finished with his litter-box. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
This offur course is me outside my house. I had a short walk to look for my wheatgrass but san told me they were all gone. I suspect she threw them out but she said I would get some more next week.
My bruffer Bujang went for an early walk. The morning sun was out already at about 8.45. He was at first nervous but got over it quite quickly.
He walked to a new space and then got a little nervous and sat. But san told him it was okie to be a little nervous but there was nuffing to be frightened about. Finally he decided that it was better to explore than just to sit.
Bujang was quite surprised as she had never tried this before. My sisfur is full of surprises !

TGIF

Today is for lazing about and I am going to do just that. I went for a short walk along the corridor and looked into our littlle neighbour's house. San told me I should not do that. I don't know why not though. He looks into our house as well.
This is another view of me lazing about wif san.
And yet another one. She said this can be a me-only post as I didn't appear in this week's post at all. I spend most of my time in the bedroom as we have a strange girl-cat in my house. I know she will be here only for a few days which is good. My sisfur Akira is quite enough fur me. You can see how tired I get just snoopervising her! One is quite enough.

Community Cat ... and some gruesome pictures
I must say that it was not as bad as I thought it would be. She only meowed loudly in the morning when the chores are being done. Other than that she spent her time napping and walking about in the kitchen. I know because I sit at the kitchen door and supervised her that way. Err...san is going to show her wounds here so if you're nervous just know that they looked quite deep.
This was what one side looked like when the vet had cleaned off the dead skin. The vet said the wounds would have been there for about 2 days for them to have dead skin and a lot of pus. This was true because Cousin R saw one of the wounds on Monday evening. It was only Tuesday when san decided to take Putih to the vet. The vet had also cleaned the pus off the wounds. She had 5 deep holes. The vet said that these could only be made by another cat.
The vet had to shave her as he had to make sure everything is clean.
We were supposed to clean her wounds with the cleaning solution and then smear the antibiotic gel on the wounds twice a day.
The vet was very impressed with Putih's stoicism and calmness. She did struggle and meow but overall she was a perfect patient. The vet did spray something on the wounds to kill the pain for a bit before he scraped her dead skin off to expose the new skin.
When she came home from the vet, she ate half acan of tuna and chicken and then had a nap.
This was how the wound looked like yesterday. There is still some pus which we clear before we put the cleaning solution. It looks clean and does not smell.
san: The kitties were very well-behaved and did not disturb Putih at all. Bujang and Tanaka decided to have meals in the living room. However, this morning Bujang braved it and had breakfast in the kitchen. Putih eats in the bathroom. The surprise was Akira who spends her half of the day outside on the fridge in the kitchen and she does not seem disturbed by Putih's meowing. However, these days Bujang spends time with both Akira and I in the computer room at night, instead of sitting by himself in the living room. He is still a little nervous. Tanaka does not go to the kitchen at all but he does spend time outside. I think everyone is coping quite well with this emergency.

Community Cat - The Calm after the Storm
There were many things that I had to consider before deciding if I can actually bring home our comcat Putih for the recommended 10 days (hopefully) of recuperation or 14 days. The first thing is how this would affect the amigos. I know that Tanaka would be very upset and might not even consider coming out to the living room at all. This was what had happened before. Bujang might vocalise even more than usual and Akira might overgroom even worse than normal. However, the situation was pretty dire and I had to make a decision before Putih's situation worsened. It was fortunate that we had Fern to help us smoothen the transition. Before we had Fern, I had to wing most of the decisions I have had to make for them. So this post would be the exchange between Fern and the amigos about Putih.
This was Bujang's worried face when he saw Putih in the house.
"I would ask Mummy"
Bujang: Feels worried (that she is gonna be a new member of the family) Jealous a bit.
Fern told him that it was only temporary but he decided that he would ask me anyway. This was what he did and I had told him that Putih would be at the house only until she recovers and then she would go back.
Tanaka: Nervous and confused why another girl cat here. He told me (Fern) about Putih before I (Fern) started telling him. I told him to be a gentleman.
Akira: She heard the boys communicating about a new cat in the house (she was in the computer room and so away from the chaos). She was curious at first but later she was calm and understands very well after I explained to her.
san: After the initial sniffing and investigations, the amigos relaxed slightly and just stayed in their happy places. I am pleased to see that Tanaka has not restricted himself to the bedroom only and yesterday had ventured outside into the family living space to relax. There is still an air of anticipation and a lot of curiosity especially when Putih meows loudly from the kitchen but no one is running around crazily at all.
Putih had stayed with us for short periods in the 8 years that I have been taking care of her. She stayed for a week after sterilisation, another week after her false pregnancy and for almost 2 weeks when her leg got bitten due to a cat fight. She could hardly walk then and the vet had to sedate her to lance the pus. This time, I hope it would not be such a long stay as she is not happy to be indoors with 3 strange cats herself.

Community Cat - Monday Mood
WHAT again?! I thought that business was all over!
We are posting this a little late as something happened to one of our community cats. I'm thankful that all my cats are safe and not in danger of being attacked by rival cats for food and territory. The little kitty Putih (White) is now safe with us for a little rest and recuperation. More tomorrow.

Easy Peasy Sunday Thanks
First we would like to begin our Sunday post with purrayers for everycat and everycatmom and everycatdad that every one has love that surrounds them with warmth and acceptance and support. There has been much to be tearful about this month for even our own community cats. We are hoping that Sepetember would be a happier month for all.
On another note, we are also purraying that our good friend Fern would have her purrayers answered for her own three fur babies and that they continue to be well.
On the home front we have nothing to complain about apart from the usual neglect by san who has not brought us out for Walkies for the last 2 days nor has she played Da Bird with us. She said that she had a lot of papers to grade as it is the last week of the term for school. We wonder why she doesn't plan more. She should have a timetable for us just like she has a timetable for school. Hmmm maybe if we all concentrate on that she would be able to hear it.
We know that if you visit our blog you will know that san has 2 different people to help us with our challenges. There is our friend Fern who speaks with us every week and gives us Reiki and there is Craig who helps us on a monthly basis for certain treatments. san thinks that apart from our annual (yuk) visits to the vet and our visits to Adrian, the osteopath, who helps us with our bones and therapy as we are getting on in years, we also need Craig who helps,us with our emotional health. san first asked Craig to help Bujang as Adrian said he had a stressed spine which could turn into arthritis of the spine if nothing is done. When Adrian said that a stressed spine can also have an emotional cause, san decided to get some help for us.
Bujang has had several treatments with Craig and they had helped tremendously with his pain in his spine. However this month he had begun to vocalize a lot more from his chest and he only agreed to short 5 minute walks outside. Once he even refused to walk eventhough I had put him in his walking jacket. This was very strange behaviour. He did some work with Craig last Friday and he slept through all of Saturday and I think maybe he would sleep much of today as well. His vocalizing has increased as he is working out his feelings. But we will see what happens next week with his walking along the corridor. Last night , instead of nipping me when he wanted to watch his cat videos, he actually just tapped me on the arm. THAT in itself is a vast improvement in behavior.
Craig said that Tanaka was not as talkative as usual during his treatment. Craig is helping us with his obsession to chase Akira. Craig said that Tanaka was not as chatty and appears to have less energy (life energy as opposed to just being energetic). It is true that for the past month he has not been chatty even with Fern, preferring just to give her short answers and walking off or sleeping. Tanaka has been the most chatty of the cats but this reticence is new. I told Craig that he had been sick some weeks before and so I thought perhaps this could account for it. Craig said that this could account for him being out of balance as he had to fight this fever as well. Craig is working on removing the OCD tendencies of him always watching Akira, sometimes for hours on end. This week, he has been a little more relaxed although watchful. This is a positive step. I also know that this behaviour is not an. Easy one and it takes more than emotional help. We have been working on time share of space as well.
The one who made the most progress is Akira. Her confidence has grown much more and her vitality was high. She was able to tell Craig what she wanted as well. Before she would not be so communicative and thought that she was 'not worthy' of attention. She told Craig that Tanaka has not been so focused on her (I think because he was trying to recover from his fever) and she has been able to build her energy and confidence up. I am very encouraged that she thinks she would be able to build a better relationship with him although she is unsure if they would be friends. I think the 'loving time' sessions at night has helped her to recover and recuperate as well. So we will continue with that.
