Flyers

I am not buying that!

This moring I went out to put some Cat Welfare Society flyers on 2 blocks of flats. I got there a little late as I got a little lost. But finally we all met (all 3 caregivers) and started to put the flyers onto the front gates and weeee also managed to speak to some of the residents about taking care of their pet cats in a more responsible manner. Some people spoke to us politely about their issues but there was one resident who said if he ever saw a cat, he would kick it! WHAT?

I think when he saw that we were very shocked that he would even say that he very quickly said that he had never kicked a cat but had chased one 'upstairs' before. When I asked him if a cat had ever peed or pooed at his front door, he said this had never happened but 'cats always do that.' I tried to tell him that this was not true but he ranted on saying that the SPCA should come to get the cats.

Anyway we saw some residents with cats outside their houses and advised them that it would be better if their indoor cats remain indoors. All in all it was not as scary as I first thought it might be.None of us had ever placed flyers door to door nor spoken to people about their cats in such a situation.

The happy cat award

We got this cute award from our friends at The Poupounette who got it from their friends at the Kitty Trio. We are supposed to list something that makes us happy and so here it goes:
Being under covers, nice and safe and warm. I only come out when I want to.
Playing all day. I lurve flying, dancing and running...more than I love eating.
Sitting with san at all hours when she is home.
Going for a walk in the park where I can eat and smell the grass and sometimes I get to chase the pigeons.
Sitting wherever there is a breeze....
Yup those are the things that make us happy. Thanks #1 and the gang at The Poupounette. This award really makes us all happy.

Tuesday is full of thankful thoughts

Tonight as I was sitting with my some time velcro kitty Ms Akira and my all time snuggler Megat, I thought of FatBoy and the girls, Fiver, Mera, Maxdog and even PD, I decided to hug all the amigos in turn. They took it in good faith except for Bujang who would only allow grandma to touch him and carefully at that.

Nevertheless my ony question for tonight is "Have you hugged your kitty today?"

Thoughtful Tuesday

Nuffing is happening here san. I checked for you already. Am I not the bestest kitty?

Goodnight Monday

We are glad Mera is doing well

Mera resting after vet visit

It never fails to warm our hearts when a community cat is doing well. Mera is resting after a visit to the vet to look at his dental problems. But as he has white blood cells in his urine, the vet think he has UTI and does not recommend any dental work. But he is doing the double ps well and more importantly he is in good hands of loving hearts. We know he would get better.

cat_aunty is not able to blog now but as we know many people want to know what is happening with her cats, we thought some news is better than no news :)

Rest in peace with the Big Cat Fiver

We are all very sorry that Fiver passed away this evening...

We are very sad and sorry that Fiver@cat_aunty passed away this evening of an accident. She was knocked down by a car this afternoon. When she didn't appear for dinner at 4.30, Uncle thought it was very unusual and he found her at the carpark a few blocks away. Uncle then buried her.

We can only hope that the other kitties are safe wherever they are. Life is very hard for commnity cats even when they are much loved.

WildBunch on Sunday

Putih looking around even now...
Eating here is better as I can run off at any time...

Putih does not like eating in isolated or secluded areas anymore. When we bring her to her usual spot, behind one of the pillars, she would make us walk with her and feed her out in the open. In addition, it is no more any of us bringing her the food but she would only want to eat where she decides to stop, which could be in the middle of a pathway, the green grass or even near the playground. I think she is still suffering from PD paranoia, which is understandable.

Minah eating dinner slow and steady...

Terror Kitty on Sunday

I heard a kitty meowing loudly last evening and went in search of the noise and saw Terror Kitty walking about and meowing. I guess he is unsure if anyone can see him or is even giving him something to eat. He ate all the food that Putih had left (Putih only ate 1 mouthful), he groomed himself and then sat for a bit with me. Then he stood up, looked around and meowed some more. He did not want to eat anything else that I offered him though. When I wanted to leave, he decided to follow me and would take no advice. I had to reprimand him severely before he would stop following but I could still hear his meowing even as I walked away.

Tis reminded me of Megat when he was still living in the carpark. At dinner time, he would meow very loudly and long. I guessed that as he was very small and thin, he may have been ignored by many people and did not want to be ignored by people with food. His screams would be so loud that you could hear them from the block of flats. Of course even now he has not stopped meowing at dinner but would only stop once he got his food.

FatBoy Update

2nd dinner immediately after SubQ, at his doorstep as it were...he looks fat becaue of SubQ fluids...
2nd dinner after Sub Q last Friday. fatBoy eating the last bits from his food bowl.
After dinner last Friday...
After his 3rd helping on Sunday 23 May

He is now much thinner and we can see how bony he is when he is on his haunches. But he is overall not skinny skin and bones but rather just thin. He takes the SubQ in his stride and is very good at dealing with the needles. The training at the vet came into play very well as he would only make a little noise when we first put him in the carrier but would sit down and relax when he feels the needle. After that it was just the matter of soothing him and waiting for the whole 250 ml to be over. Then he gets the rest of his dinner. Sometimes he would take his leave but will always be up for seconds.

Yesterday he got his first dinner and then he decided to take a walk. I fed Putih and Terror Kitty and then went to feed Minah. I was just returning from changing Minah's drinking water that I saw him walking towards me, at my own void deck and so I gave hin 2 more helpings of Fussiecat sardines and chicken. So he had 3 helpings of Sunday dinner! The last pic was of him saying thank you for the food and so long chum!

I am glad he is finding his appetite back again and attribute it to the SubQ injections. However, these few weeks, both Cousin R and I found that he when he eats his dinner, we could hear squeakings. We have never heard these noises before though. I hope these squeaks are just one of those things and nothing serious is happening with his teeth.

Bath Time

I dun think I need a bath. I smell fine san...FINE...
After the bath and blow dry...

The last Megat took a bath was 2 months ago and he smells of lingzhi sio we decided that he should get a bath yesterday. He likes the water so bathing him is no problem. I think he is my only cat who looks forward to bath time :)

He enjoys the warm water and frquently shows us his b*** so WE can clean it :). So now that he is done, its time to look at Bujang (err...I dun think so), Toro will go next week to the groomer.
