Revving up with The Dragonfly

The drgaonfly is a great favourite with everyone, Ms Akira included and Toro would even run after it with the rest of the boys! It might be the glamour of a new toy though. But it does fly in a most realistic way and the amigos enjoy it very much. I read quite alot about it and it had rave reviews all round and now I know why :)

Cooling down with the Dragonfly

Tanaka loves the dragonfly. I allowed him to play with it until he is satisfied that the dragonfly is dead. Time to move on.....

Bujang's other set of audience...

This tri-colour was very curious but as its owner was in the balcony itself hanging clothes I was not too concerned...

This tuxedo was the very first cat that I saw from before. The people living here has 4 cats. There is another black cat living here and one orange and white cat. This cat and the black one are very fond of each other and can sometimes be seen grooming each other near the window.

Bujang is an object of curiosity for these cats from the 2nd floor. I remember the old aunty asking me if I had cat food to give to someone who lives on the 2nd floor some time ago. It seemed that the lady asked the aunty for some food and the aunty said she could not give the woman any of the canned food as it was for the wildbunch. But the aunty did ask me for some food and so I had given her some Nutro salmon whch she gave to the woman. Posted by Picasa

Of bicycle clamps and cat adventures

I had shackled my stroller onto the bicycle stand as per grandma's advice...

A close-up of the pink bicycle clamp that Cousin R bought us...

Bujang really likes this patch of no-grass but shrubs. Since he did not eat any, I allowed him full roam status here...

This is his favourite set of stairs as it allows him to see what is happening around the void-deck. If I look up, I might see a very curious kitty with orange spots looking at us :) He had been there several times since I first decided to bring Bujang walking around my flat...Posted by Picasa

He came closer...

and closer...

and closer still...

Then he stopped to sniff at Bujang's tracks...

At first I thought this was the cat from the 2nd floor but on closer inspection, he lived on the 4th floor. I remembered him peering at us from his window sometimes when I bring Bujang out walking. I guess he is the embodiment of Curiosity and cats :) At first i thought he was female as he was small and fine but I saw later that he an intact male kitty. I was afrid that he would find the carrier and pee on it like Big Casanova did. Oh dear... Posted by Picasa

The standoff...

Bujang growled and was not pleased to be the object of attention...

This male cat just sat quietly, anxious not to cause anymore anxiety in Bujang...

The perpetual object of attention... He came and sniffed at the carrier. I was afraid he might pee at it but he didn't do anything of the sort. He just sniffed at it carefully and waited for Bujang to find him!

He came and sat as close as he dared near Bujang. As Bujang was on a leash, he was not able to do anything else but posture a little. He growled under his breath for a bit but did not pursue the matter. I was finally able to lead him someplace else for more grass when he saw that the male cat was not interested in anything else but look...

Here's looking at you stranger...

Bujang peering at the cat from behind pillars...

Minah looked at the playacting quietly...tsk..these male cats!

One last look before home...

I had to finally persuade Bujang that it was time to go home and think about his adventures. The male cat went off to sniff at some lorries at the carpark. I wonder if the owners knew where their cat had been as it went off to the opposite flat. I hope it came home safely. Posted by Picasa

Ms Akira

In a more romantic glow...

Ms Akira wearing camouflage...

She is aware of every little thing and wa quite jumpy even when the door was closed...

Finally she had a good rest in between grandma's pillows, under a makeshift tent...

When Ms Akira wants attention, she asks for it loudly. I decided to sit with the little princess to take some pics as she is very elusive in the best of times. I normally would sit with her at night or these days in the evening immediately after I come from from the evening walks with Bujang. We enjoy our quiet time together away from the very nosy boys. She would almost always just sit quietly grooming herself and grooming me in the process. When these pictures were taken (the collage) I had created for her a little tent and she played along, sitting in it quietly :)

Wednesday (Pee) Wars

Big Casanova's 1st appearance in 2009

Bujang skulking around pillars in the void deck this evening...

and yet again, the vehicle of contention...

This evening Bujang bolted down his food and quickly came to sit in the living room, close enough to the door. He knows that this is a position of power and I would bring him for his walk without question. So we got dressed and I brought him to my void deck. Along the way we saw Big Casanova. He was thin but still strong and still unneutered. He watched us and saw me walk Bujang. After some time, I saw him hanging aroung the carrier but thought little of it, eventhough he insisted on dogging us all evening.

Bujang made several rounds and when he came to his carrier, he took a sniff at it. I thought it was because Big Casanova was there previously. Then Bujang walked again, seemingly unconcerned until he actually saw the Peeping Tom, Big Casanova. He then insisted on meeting the Tom but I didn't want a confrontation. Big Casanova looked at us quite calmly so I was not too anxious.

THEN it came to putting Bujang in the carrier to go home. Bujang created a BIG fuss, hissed and tried to wriggle away so I decided to walk him home. Cousin R helped me to push the carrier home and Bujang managed to walk all the way into the lift. When the lift opened at our floor, he vey jauntily stepped out and went straight home :)

I then thought that Toro and Tanaka would like to hang out in the carrier like the day before but they sniffed at it suspiciously and as I was going to clean it with vinegar and water I saw PEE! It was Big Casanova's present for us :( I then cleaned the whole thing with dettol and vinegar and aired it. I saw Toro sitting in the just-clean carrier. I thought he was just breaking it in again. When I wanted to put it away, I saw PEE! Aiyoh! This time it was Toro's pee. Sigh!!

Since Toro was already relaxing I saw no good in reprimanding him. I think Toro was just reclaiming territory. I hope that _THAT_ was all it was and he didn't think he could use it as a Peeing Place. I will have to see if Bujang would sit in it tomorrow evening! Posted by Picasa

Thankful Tuesday

Minah rolling about seeming to be without a care in the world...

I was a little anxious when Minah did not eat her usual share of wet food for a whole week. When it was time for dinner, she would still be there but would eat very little and sometimes not at all. However she was not ill or anything. Then a few days ago she was just content to roll about and so I thought she might be getting her food from another caregiver. I think there must be someone else who feeds her as she is not as hungry as before these days. But she has not groen any thinner and she is just as playful as before so I think there is very little for me to be alarmed about. This evening she came to dinner rather late and I could see her running from across our block. I hope she feeds safely wherever she is feeding now. Anyway this evenng, she ate 1/2 a tin from her usual 3/4 but as she has been eating only one mouthful these last few days, i am quite glad for this. Posted by Picasa

You don't say

Bujang acting goofy or maybe he is just goofy-looking :)
We went for a walk this evening eventhough we had a very shocking experience of being nearly-carrier napped yesterday. Bujang enjoys his evening walks and would be all ready at the door right after dinner. If he so much suspects that I have no intention of bringing him downstairs, he would meow and paw at the gate (One of my sisters have told me that my cats, especially Bujang are quite adept at blackmailing me. I must admit its true).
This time, I placed his stroller-carrier near where the residents would put their bicycles. THIS, I hope would tell the residents that indeed this contraption has an owner. Bujang was rather confused as to where his carrier was when he wanted to sit in it as he is used to having it only in one place for a long time. There were no nasty incidents this time. I had placed a book on the carrier just to indiacte to some would-be carrier napper that the carrier belongs to someone. Of course Cosuin R reminded me that if someone was determined to steal my carrier, ab ook would be no dterrent and of course she is right.
Finally grandma hit on a brilliant solution. "Why don't you buy a bicycle chain and then chain the stroller to the bicycle stand?" Aiyoh!!! Why didn't I think of that? Posted by Picasa
