Lets us tell you a tale - the short version

I sometimes lament about my cat affaires - of how Toro Tunabelly would fight to be Top Cat and he still does; or how Bujang slaps him back (which he does often). They go through the ritual of fighting and wrestling (no blood thank goodness) or to dream up the next wrestling match to be Masters of the Universe or the Great Contender. :)

And then out of nowhere (but I would like to think through my very hard work..hee) they sometimes do this. It is fortunate that we had some time in the afternoon together to be lazy. I think with cats, you simply don't know what will happen next :)

Ahhh..what a life this is!

Bujang and Toro spending the day together in bed as though they have been buddies all their lives :)

Blue Serenade

I thought it was time to get Toro to use the other walking jacket that I have. I had originally bought 2 - one for Bujang in red and one for Ms Akira in blue. But Ms Akira did not appreciate being restrained in this way when she was younger. So I had kept it just in case Bujang wore out his red one. Toro did not protest very much and he allowed me to put his jacket on him. Once he was in it, I let him walk about in the house so that he could get used to it.

Toro was out along the corridor. He did not know how to walk in the jacket as yet and kind of stalked about in it. But at least he continued to walk and did not protest and refuse to move. I was very glad that he took everything in his stride.

Plan view of Toro resting near grandma's plants. I must say the blue looks nice on him and makes his eyes bluer - if that was possible :)

Toro made his way or rather stalked his way to the neighbours plants. He was very confident and sniffed about. The jacket did not bother him one bit.

Toro faced a crossroad of sorts. To go on to visit the neighbours or to stay and turn around and do something else. He decided, like the adventurer that he was, to go visit the neighbours. So he turned the corner and sniffed about. I thought it was time that I brought him home as it would look truly weird if the neighbours opened their doors to see my cat and I right there. :)

The next thing to do is to get him familiar with the jacket so he would walk upright instead of stalk and slink about.

The blue bicycle

A blue walking jacket, blue eyes and a blue bicycle. What could be more picturesque than that?

It's my turn now

Ms Akira trying to persuade me that it was her turn to walk. Her claws, although trimmed were just as formidable as Bujang's.

If claws couldn't do it, maybe complaining would. :)

Akira in blue

I thought if Toro took to the blue walking jacket well, then Ms Akira would pose very little problem. The jacket would be far more comfortable than her new harness and this would give me greater control of her if anything happens. Little did I know what Ms Akira was capable of when she panicks!

She took the walk quite well although she ws very cautious and every little sound made her stop and stare. She then heard some voices coming from the neighbours house and I could sense that she would panick. Before I could carry her home, she bolted straight for home, dragging me with her. Her little claws hurt just as much as Bujang's, let me tell you. :) But I got her safely home and in about 5 minutes, the neighbours walked past our house.

More love please

Toro runs to grandma every time he needs extra lurve. He looks very innocent here, as though he is more sinned against than sinning. :))

The Family Amigos II

The family turned out this morning and arranged themselves quietly to take the Sunday air. "It is cool and breezy this morning," Ms Akira told her family, extended or otherwise. So they all arranged themselves from the oldest to the youngest. Ms Akira still did not trust the newcomer of the family and stayed close to her brother Bujang but he was much more interested in the looking at the camera, his eyes shining :)) Toro, the newcomer decided to take it easy. "Maybe this is not the family for moi," he said softly as he thought of strange ways of how to get out of the family portrait.

Toro saw an opportunity to make a break, hidden by Ms Akira's choice of flowery patterned curtains. But he was caught just in time and had to make his way down again. As he was not used to climbing up there, he had to be helped down. Maybe its a persian thing of not being able to jump onto high places.

Just a taste...

Bujang trying out the catnip leaves that I had sprinkled into the scratch board. He doesn't take to catnip a lot but I think he likes the taste a little :) He's a honeysuckle kind of guy.

The Family Amigos

A rare picture of an even more rare time in the album of The Family Amigos. The kitties are all arranged for a family portrait and like the ordinary family, everyone wants to be the clown and wants to look everywhere else but the camera. This was right after everyone had their time on the BIG Scratch Mat that I bought for them this afternoon from the pet store. As if by magic, they all then came trooping into the room and settled themselves just like this. I think its the catnip working. It reminds me of the one that cat_aunty has for Spencer and the kids. Following are pictures of what the amigos did to it.

Yup. Toro slept on it after fighting everyone off and scratching it for hours with kibble breaks in between.

Bujang slept on it after a little scratching and a lot of sniffs as its a new thing in the house.

Akira slept on it after she told Toro its her turn and slapped him for daring to monopolise the new toy.

A close-up of Akira's new harness. She is in harness training and apart from the one squirm where she tried to get out of it, she has since calmed down and accepted her new harness quite well. She wore it for close to 4 hours and even slept in it. This is good news as I now can use it on her when she next takes a walk. It fits her better than the red harness for Toro.

Oh we're so bored!

Oh I'm so bored!Take the pic and leave me alone will ya!
The day drowned in rain today and so the amigos didn't get a chance to be out.

Oh..I am so bored! bored! bored!

No going out into the corridor as the rain came into the house. No looking around and sniffing at strange plants.

Oh can it possibly get any more boring?

No going to the park and sitting under the ixora bushes. No sweet grass to eat.

Hunting prey

No, I am just minding my own business! I do not know why they are running away from me. Really...I'm hurt you don't believe me.

Toro, red eye gleaming, looking for something to do. Usually it will be slapping Ms Akira on her back or trying to head wrestle Bujang. He is the eternal optimist and no matter how many times he gets beaten by Bujang and slapped by Ms Akira, he will bounce back again and live to try it another day.
