TGIF

san has been taking me out for a walk effuryday. I fink she feels badly that I had hurted myself but I am not in any sort of pain. But it breaks up my day when we go out, even if its is only along my corridor. I dun really like going downstairs. Grass is for eating only, not for walking on.

Today I fink she may take all offur us out as its TGIF. Hurrah.

Finally Outside

I had not brought Bujang downstairs for his walk for a whole year. It began with renovation works for the place - repainting, retiling, building of temporary shelters for workman things, hammering and moving things about. I had brought him downstairs sporadically but he  refused to go out of the carrier. For the last 4 days, I had brought him down to see if he would take a walk and yesterday was the day he took his first walk downstairs but not without some trepidation and hiding behind pillars.

He did this more times than I can count. I guess the sudden openness was overwhelming.
I am glad all the broken down bicycles were removed and so was Bujang.

Finally he crossed the drain and ate some grass.
He even crossed over the drain several times and he went backwards and forwards. I think he quite enjoyed his day out. I am glad that it was quiet enough for him to enjoy the day.

Community Cat Wednesday

This guy is a sometime-dinner guest. I don't know where he hangs out but he sometimes appears quite hungry. He is a very handsome boy with a marvellously straight tail.
This boy lives around Tampines St 11 and I see him working hard to get people to go into the pet store. He has a nice house and toys as well. His tail is also beautifully straight and long. He lives near the vet and so gets vet care as well.
Ginger was the kitty that broke both his hind legs after being chased by dogs. He was found bleeding in the drain near my house. We got him emergency vet care, an operation to fix both his ankles and somewhere safe to recuperate. Now he lives with someone but unfortunately he is let out to roam the area in the mornings and sometimes at night. But at least he now knows where he can go to escape if he needs to.
These 2 kitties are called Baby (tabby) and Jeffrey Boy. They come to dinner together. although Baby (female) is the younger of the two, she often slaps Jeffrey because she can!
This is our long-time resident Putih. She is very pretty and allows people to pet her.

We have a new resident whom we have named Kira as he/she is a black cat.  He/She looks young and is still uncertain of us. But once we are friends, he/she would be off for sterilisation as well. We are lucky the community cats in our area are all healthy and relatively safe from harm. The residents know them are as long as caregivers feed them responsibly, the residents do not threaten their safety. They are all sterilised, frontlined, get vet care and regular food. We are really lucky.

Just Because

Ok. That's enough for now. Thanks san.
It's easy to get san to give me scritches. I only need to be myself and that is easy.

Just Because

It's good to have a bright Monday don't you think?

And one from my favorite brother as well
Yup. I am sitting on his blanket but he does not mind it. He is a good brother.

Have a bright cheery Monday everyone. Tomorrow is a public holiday here so we are all in good cheer.

Oh Tanaka!

Tanaka went to see Dr Lalani yesterday as he had an issue with his hind leg. He had landed badly a month ago but I thought since he was not limping, his leg was better. Not so...

Dr Lalani encouraged him to walk (using his leash which I brought) and did not see a limp but when he felt his muscles there was a ropiness in his left leg thigh which meant a great deal of tension. He also had a tightness in his middle rib cage. He might have hit against the edge of the cupboard when he tried to jump on it or when he was playing with Bujang and tried to escape by jumping to the top of the night cages which he does often.

So Dr Lalani had massaged his left leg and his rib cage to lessen the tension. I think this would explain why Tanaka was not jumping in the usual way with his toys.  He would usually do many twists and high jumps to catch the lure.

I was advised to massage his leg as well at home and bring him back in two weeks.

I am glad I brought him to see Dr Lalani anyway eventhough his leg seemed to have healed as if not I would not know about his mid riff at all.

This morning he was a little unsteady when he wanted to jump off my headboard onto the next cupboard. Usually he could just sail to the top.

TGIF

 We are
 just hanging out
 today.
Ms A: I got this award from our friends at The Poupounette from handsome Vidock. I myself have never seen a real horse but I have seen him from his posts. I am glad as he is very good-looking and also very loving. Thank you Vidock! I do not know many mencats as I am rather retiring and don't like mencats all that much but I want to give this award to my all-time favourite mancat, my brother Bujang. He is good to me.

Wednesday Thots

Bujang spent some time sleeping and sitting here. This is where Megat used to sleep at night as he felt safe in here. I have put Megat's soft toy in this cage for the kitties. I think they still smell him and sense his presence. Tanaka and Bujang spend time here on different days of the week. Ms Akira has investigated this space but has yet to sit in it.

On a brighter note
zzzz.....

Just Hanging Out wif san

Yesterday san changed the bedlinen and I thot the colour would not distract from my beauty. I also wanted to stay in the room wif san as she was doing her school work. The afternoons are usually quiet in my house. From here, I can also see the outside with no effort at all.
san was singing me my special song when she took a break. I listened carefully in case she got the words wrong. I want to hear my name in each and effury line.
Finally san said I should sit in a way that would allow her to take my full picture. I said Okie dokie. Then san told me I fell asleep for the rest of the time. It was furry restful.

Sunday Quiet

It is a strange Sunday with only just the 3 kitties.
Bujang has continued to patrol the house looking for Megat. I explained that Megat is now with Totoro but he still meows loudly just in case Megat was hiding somewhere and did not hear the breakfast plates and tins being opened. It would take Bujang some time still as he is the BOSS of the house and Bujang likes a neat house with firm routines.

He would only stop looking when he naps. I am thankful he naps quite often here.

The other kitties looked for him all of yesterday but they seem to have settled down to Sunday routines.
Tanaka having a Sunday morning nap. He is going to see Dr Lalani next week as he hurt his hind leg a little when he was jumping down from the top of the night cages. He seemed to walk ok but I want to be sure as he loves running and jumping so much and it would be a pity if he was unable to continue because I did not take care of it for him.
I am sharpening my claws for the orange boy kitty. 'Just watch it Tanaka'

I am trying to keep the routines similar for the kitties but it did not stop me from putting out 4 places instead of just 3!

I have given away Megat's Hartmann's and his kidney supplements to other caregivers for the community cats. Our own community cats here are still young and very healthy so they have no need for them.
Putih, one of our community cats

I want to thank everyone for their kindness in coming to see us for the last two days and I hope to be able to get back to their blogs to thank them.

But for today we are taking it slow and easy.

Dear Megat, we hope you are having an Easy Peasy Sunday where you are.

Run Fast and Fly High

Our kitty Megat went to the bridge today after some days of difficulties eating and breathing. Dr Ly and I gave him a little help at about 6.15 pm as we thought he would not be as comfortable as he should be. I whispered in his ears ,"Run Fast Megat and Fly High."

I would miss having him on my chest everyday after his lingzhi where we spend time together singing songs. Well I sang the song and he struggled to get away from my singing.
This was one of the last few times he had eating easily with his brother Bujang. I am glad I have at least this one picture.

Thank you everyone for all your advice and loving thoughts.

Run fast Megat and fly high.
