Easy Peasy Sunday

It's Easy Peasy Sunday and also the first day of the year of the water snake . Actually it's perfect for us here as sometimes when people are too lazy to do anything, they "eat snake ", meaning they just lazeabout - just like us 😝 Of course it has been raining since early morning. We think the Water Snake is opening up the year in a big way 😝

Is it time already?

This morning Bujang needed some persuasion to get out of the room to breakfast. When I opened the windows, we heard someone playing the piano and he wanted to know where it came from. ☺

Then after some minutes of listening HRH decided on tuna and chicken :)

and Happy Chinese New Year of the Snake...

san took my picture this morning as I was sitting at my favourite morning perch, near the window that overlooks the street and birds. Also the red being the colour of prosperity, is a good sign for all. Sometimes pigeons will visit me here as I am always very quiet. Maybe today, I would get a pigeon for tomorrow's Reunion dinner although I don't like pigeon. san says she will get me some nice fresh mackerel for dinner. That would be a nice Chinese New Year dinner for sure.

Aftermath

 Is it really her birthday? Why didn't I get invited?

Tanaka had to be in the bedroom so Ms Akira can get out into the living room yesterday.

 Huh? For real? Muffins fur me?

Corn muffins to celebrate Akira's birthday...

 HoHum! I don't like corn muffins. I prefer tuna and chicken and of course treats. Am getting a nap while corn muffins are in the oven.

Happy Gotcha Day Akira

Ms Akira is 8 today and she is better than ever. I had rescued her from the SPCA when she was just 5 months old. I think she is getting her groove back, slowly but surely

san was trying to tell me about somefing that she found in the net. It has somefing to do wif astrology and kitties but I was too tired. There are 12 months to listen to. So I took a nap but she thought it was interesting enough for cat moms and dads. I told her "Go on and try!" Please bear wif san a little bit. JANUARY CAT
- is intuitive, loyal and a trustworthy companion

Ms Akira is our February kitty :)

FEBRUARY CAT
- is a delightful, gentle creature, with an almost psychic
intuitiveness and understanding

This is true enough. Ms Akira is very gentle and understanding of other other kitties. She prefers calm and does not like being chased or to do any chasing herself. Now of course she is much more confident and only last night, she decided to take a walk on the wilder side - going up one level to see what up there. But she hesitated a bit when she heard some loud voices and walked quite calmly back home.  

My lovely kitty Totoro who went to the Bridge last year was our

MARCH CAT
- is peace-loving and gentle, may seem to be in a world of
his own for much of the time 

and indeed he was all of that. He was non-confrontational and gentle and a little dizzy. He preferred to sit by himself  at doors and windows for the breeze. 

and then our little family does not involve any of these other kitties

APRIL CAT
- bursts with vitality and curiosity and therefore may be
difficult to get in at night

MAY CAT
- loves his home and food; the ideal pet for the loyal cat lover

JUNE CAT
- is energetic, itelligent and interested in everything and
everyone. He hates being shut in

JULY CAT
- thrives on affection and repays it generously, he makes
an excellent parent and a devoted pet

AUGUST CAT
- is bold and proud, with a big heart, he makes a loyal
and generous companion

until Bujang, our ..

SEPTEMBER CAT
- is fastidiously clean and hygienic, and is not averse to
his own company - the classic cat

He spends much of his time cleaning and trimming his talons and he loves his own company in the lazy afternoons, preferring to nap by himself in grandma's room or on top of the night cages. He looks after the house as he is the MANCAT :)

We do not have October cats but if yours is an October cat it says

OCTOBER CAT
- loves the finer things in life, like soft cushions,
gentle music and constant displays of affection

The Rocket is our November cat. I agree with this entirely...

Tanaka: Hey..you forgot the laundry! Shall I open the gates fur you? Quickly cos after this I am going to play hide n seek wif my sisfur. No she doesn't know it yet...hehe

Megat came to our house in December. It says this about December cats ...

DECEMBER CAT
- is a happy-go-lucky feline who will prove to be a diligent
mouser and entertaining character

I think he must have been quite a good mouser to have survived so long in the carpark before he came to live with us. He is quite entertaining as he tries to give in to Bujang when Bujang wants to play.

Easy Peasy Sunday

We began Sunday with a walk where Bujang scrutinized a flattened lizard. I think he may be the victim of careless kids running up and down the stairs but for the rest of us it's Easy Peasy.

Note: I was very pleased to see that Megat had done the necessary in his litter this morning. We may not have to do Sub Q every day if this continues for a few more times.

Megat at the Vet

I brought Megat to the vet this morning as he had a little constipation. Also I was worried about his coughing as he has asthma and lately he has been coughing more often than before. He had an X-ray to see the state of his chest as well as his intestines and also some bloodwork.

We were glad to see that after the lactulose that I had given him (1.5 ml twice a day as the vet had ordered) his poo is not hardened and from the X-ray the vet feels that he should be able to poo easily so there was no need for the enema. I was to give him 250 ml in Sub Q fluids everyday as he was a little dehydrated which could also contribute to constipation (Megat would not like that!). Also I was to up the frequency of his lactulose until he poos normally again. He was also given some liquid ventolin to help him with his airways.

All in all it was a good result. There was just a small concern in that there was a small white dot in his chest as shown in his Xray. The vet didn't know what it was but for sure we both thought that we could just monitor that and not subject him to anything invasive as he is 17 already.

 Finally the weekend is coming and we can spend time together.

Megat: Lemme go san! Lemme go! No meds!

 The weekend is for me to have a seat HERE. I hope Bujang lets me have it!

 Being on top of the world - without pesky mancats! THAT's what a weekend is for.

 Time to play. Would you like to walk wif me little sisfur? We can err...play catch.

Its time for R &R. I need some time off from taking care of the house!

Btw my collar was from http://www.caninecollars.com/sassy/puzzled.htm. They also have doggie collars :) But its rather large for a small cat. The only ones in our house who wears these collars are myself and my brother Toro who is now at the Bridge as we are bigger. san tried it on Tanaka but   it looked too large on him as well.

Walking in the park

I like this park as I get to do many things. One of my favourite things to do is get into the drain as I know san does not like it BUT it has interesting smells. san says as long as it is relatively dry, I can do that.

Its takes a little manouvering...but I can do it.

 SUCCESS!

 I also like it here under this big tree. There is scrunchy, crunchy grass...

 I leave no branch unturned in my effort to get them...
