Bujang's very short trip outside

Bujang had a very short trip outside on sunday. I had added on another short leash to his already long one so he could take a longer walk by himself. But he was not satisfied and wanted to walk an even longer distance. So he pulled at his leash and then he extricated himself from his red jacket. I don't know how he did it. But he did not manage to get out as his jacket was also buckled at his neck :) Poor thing Bujang. So I got him out and brought him home where he rested and then fell asleep.

Toro's sunday adventures

Toro planning his route...

Restiing before the big walk...

Contemplation...

Should I?

What's behind this door?

Should I turn the corner?

Phewww!

As with most cats, walking takes a lot of planning and changing of minds. Toro has been wanting to go outside for the longest time and I finally got the time to take him walking along the corridor. He is much more comfortable here and would freak out if I bring him downstairs. So as usual he walks or slinks along slowly, sniffing and resting until he came to the staircase. then he sat for quite some time contemplating the wisdom of moving down the stairs :) Finally Toro the great adventurer decided that corners were much more interesting, especially when they have holes in which to peer into darkness :)

I am glad he did not try to get out of his jacket like Bujang did. I did not take any pics of Bujang as I was busy trying to extricate him from his jacket. After that big operation, Bujang decided that he would rather stay indoors and look at the world from inside the grills :)

The Interview

The amigos were surprisingly docile when ddxiong came to the house to interview them. I think they all knew they must be on their best behaviour and so they all welcomed ddxiong into the house. I was surprised that Ms Akira actually sat with her after sniffing at her bag enthusiastically, Bujang came to sniff his approval and had a few bites (of welcome no doubt), Megat came to sit with me and was not too near but not too far and Totoro actually circled us once or twice.

I expected them all apart from Bujang to make a quick exit or at least to peer at her from behind cushions and doors. It goes to show you never knwo with cats :)

I was glad that the aunty managed to speak about her cats to ddxiong and she spoke quickly and with great passion in hokkien. I think she was pleased as she managed to speak without having to translate everything into malay :)

Let's hang bro!

Taking a break...

After Bujang had put his foot down, Megat no longer make mock runs at him but had instead steered clear of the Big Boss. As usual, Megat then decided that Ms Akira is fair game and he has taken to running after her instead. Its enough to make a woman bury herself under blankets forever! But she is holding her own and has had several near skirmishes with snarling fangs and warning growls.

Toro used to do this to her too until she made her stand quite clear to him. Now he makes half-hearted attempts at touching her. The worst thing that Toro does is intimidate her when she is making her way to the kitchen for dinner. But Ms Akira is a wily cat and she always waits for Bujang to lead the way and when Toro is busy trying to stop Bujang from entering the kitchen, she jumps onto the table and is safe!

This evening, after dinner, the boys actually had a short game of tag! Wah! Success!

Let's Play

Step 1: The Watch

Step 2: Paw on toy

Step 3: Scrutinise from all angles

Step 4- KILL!

Megat discovered that apart from running after the kitties, there were other stuff that he could monopolise and make his own. The boys and Ms Akira let him be as long as he doesn't make mad dashes at them, scaring them out of their furry coats all the time. On the othe hand, Megat had also discovered that there were times when playing by yourself may not be a bad thing :)

Santa's Little Helper

Please don't do that!

Sigh...

If I close my eyes, the box will disappear...

Toro decided that like Bujang, he could also be counted on to help me with work. He is not just a pretty face with a metrosexual outlook :) but a cat of substance. Of course he fell asleep before I could finish my work but he had spent the last evening playing with Megat and so it was understandible that he was tired :)

Where is my collar?

Calico Mom

FatBoy

These are better pictures of 2 of the 3 in the WildBunch. Calico Mom is looking rather dirty I know but she is much too independent to allow me to clean her up. The black spots are just grease from the carpark. I guess it is a good thing that she does not allow me too near her as this survival instinct would make her more diffiuclt to mess with.

FatBoy always looks well and his coat is always clean and shiny. He is more docile and would follow almost anyone who would feed him! He looks for me when I am late with dinner and would sometimes follow me to my flat, which is a bad thing as Little Calico would scream her tiny lungs out in protest. Then I would have to bring him back to his own void deck where I would have to sit with him for a little while.

Little Calico has lost her new red collar. I don't know what it is with the people here. I seem to be the sole supplier of collars and tags in this area. :(

Since the old aunty is not working, we have a new feeding schedule. I would feed them for 3 days - Mondays to Wednesdays and she would feed them for the rest of the week. I am rather glad of this as this would mean I do not have to rush about and would have some more time to rest and relax with the amigos.

The old aunty has also agreed to speak about her community cats with ddxiong.
She seemed very pleased when I asked her about it and I'm sure she would tell ddxiong the history of the WildBunch. After all she has been feeding them for a long time and she also knows their previous caregiver. The interview is supposed to be this Sunday.

Its about time Bujang

Enough of that!

Penitant Megat

My job is done

Bujang has finally taken a stand. After all there is only so much that a cat can take. After the 1000th time that Meagt has made a run for him, Bujang decided to turn the tables and run after Megat!!

When I came out of the bathroom, I saw Megat running wildly into the bedroom and under the bed. This was a new phenomenon. Usually it would be either Toro or Bujang with Megat on their tail. I then saw Bujang running in after Megat.

After 10 minutes when megat did not appear, I investigated and saw him sitting on my computer chair, away from everyone. I think he was more surprised than scared and he is now on my lap.

I guess he has learnt that just because you think you're the boss, it doesn't mean that you are :)

I think from this momnet all will be better as if all the boys are running after each other, all is well.

A tunnel would do just as well...

Time tunnel...

Grandma spent much time looking for Bujang this morning - in her bedroom, in mine, in the ratten cat basket, the orange one, the washbasin ...to no avail. The she decided to take one last look at the red tunnel and here was Bujang, looking at her with his bright yellow eyes.

"Eh!! What are you doing here? I was looking for you..."
"I am just resting grandma, and the black cat would not find me here too."

Toro's sunday morning

No thanks. I do not want to do any climbing....

Toro watching the world safely...

Toro has not yet discovered how to get up the cat--tree near the window. It is rather unstable even though I had wedged it firmly at the corner. Therefore he is only able to watch the goings-on outside through the grills at the door. He doesn't seem to mind this much. I noticed that if he wants to, he would actually make an all-out effort to make it happen. He has managed to get up the cupboard top in the computer room by sheer determination. and trying again and again. So I know he is quite content just to look at the outside from here :)

Ms Akira's window adventures

Sunday Morning lookout...

Tread carefully Ms Akira...
Ms Akira contemplating the outside....

Ms Akira wanted to see what was going on outside but without having to step outside to do it :) She loves watching at the window especially when the grills are opened too. She would be the first one to jump onto the cat tree and if she was not, she would beat the one before her. Her persistence usually wins the day.
