It's My Turn

Toro sitting in the basket grooming himself. Whenever Bujang is out of it, eitherToro or Akira will be in it. I guess a good perch is prime real estate. Toro's luxuriant tail is seen here is gorgeous detail.

After Italy won the world cup...

the park was EMPTY of footballers. I was expecting some exuberant boys to be kicking and screaming and making general noise. But there was nothing. Not even one boy kicking a ball. Its amazing! All the life that was in the park was Bujang and I, a mother and her toddler and the lone skater who had the whole quadrangle to himself.Even Bujang was surprised and here he was standing all by himself watching some kids coming home from school.

Watch the Birdie!

I hope you can see the little birdie on the branch of the palm tree. There were two actually but my nokia couldn't capture both. The two mynahs tormented Bujang quite a bit. They flew past him and settled on the nearest palm and didn't move when he came directly below them. They knew they were safe of course.
Bujang did not spend much time under the palm as I guess he knew it would be a futile exercise. I'm glad I didn't have to tell him that.

Monday walk

Finally I got to bring Bujang out to the park after quite some time. He has been asking to go almost everyday these past few days but it has been either too hot (for me) or too wet (for him). Since the evening was quite cool, I decided to bring him out as soon as I got home. He allowed me to put him in his walking jacket without scratching me or making a fuss. He must miss going out as he would usually give me a nip or two before settling into his carrier.

He walked slowly about as usual, sniffing the scents of strange cats on the ixora and ate a blade of grass or two. He spent the whole time just sitting beside walls watching people pass by. A woman and her baby tried to make conversation with him but he was more interested in walking new paths today, preferring the void deck to the grass. Finally they gave up and walked away. Bujang didn't care and minded his own business and I minded him :)

Sunday thoughts

It was a wet sunday afternoon. The amigos just sat around lazily. Bujnag of course preferred to be in his basket looking at the rain and feeling the more than cool breeze blowing through the weave. He has been very chatty these days. I do not know why that should be so as he is the quietest of the gang of three. I hope nothing is ailing the little guy. Just now, with the aid of wind and rain, he shouted a little when he went to the kitchen with grandma. I can't believe that he was hungry as there were still some biscuits left in his red bowl. I would like to think that Bujang was just being dramatic, living with 2 other dramatic kitties and he has learnt to voice his disagreements and wants.

I always think Bujang is quite a nice cat since he makes no trouble for the other kitties unless they get in his way. He is quite accepting of most things that happen to him, especially me bringing two other cats to live with us. What he can't accept (like his basket being moved) I can rectify. Thank goodness for this. Apart from one short bout of near depression when I first brought akira home, he takes Toro and his nonsense pretty well.

He is also getting more affectionate I think. He sometimes sleeps near me (not on me thank goodness) in bed. He has his own bed which he uses but nowadays he sometimes chooses to sleep alongside myself. This has been going on for nearly two months on and off. I wonder what is going on with him. Maybe his personality is evolving still :))

Mystery Solved

The cat feeder mystery is solved. The reason I keep seeing her at evening feeding times is that she has left her job ! Woah. I wonder why she didn't tell me sooner. At least now the 2 cats don't get overfed by both of us. I give the calico chicken and tuna and the dark striped tabby a whole can of chicken and gravy plus biscuits. Then she comes and feeds them 2 packets of boiled rice and steamed fish. Aiyoh! Too much food at dinner.

She seemed cheerful when she told me she hasn't got another job yet. Maybe she didn't like her first one. It was to wash cups at a coffee shop in S. I'm sure it must be very difficult for such an old lady to do. S is a very busy place and people flock there like a never-ending tide - an endless stream of cups and mugs to wash...

Its Too Hot

It has been a very hot afternoon and the amigos spent most of the time flat out on the floor sleeping the heat away. My sister was here and she also slept the afternoon away with the air-con on. I had to switch on the fan as my air-con was not working too well :( The amigos didn't finish all the wet food at dinner. I gave them their usual teaspoon. maybe its the heat plus the rather noisy nephews. They are always a little stressed out when there are other people in the house. All except Bujang. Still even Bujang did not finish his wet food just now.

Caren from the cat shelter came to take away the amigos' stuff. I didn't realise they had so much stuff, especially toys. There is really so much more space in the store room and house now that the stuff is all gone. :)

Good morning

Good Saturday morning everyone. :)
Toro is busy making himself useful and was trying to help me make the bed. Then he decided that he wanted to just rest and watch me make the bed. Just like a cat :)

Saturday meditations

This morning I wanted to bring Toro downstairs for his walk but it looked like rain. So I aborted that plan and opened the windows near the cat gym wider instead so we would get a better breeze. Tor o being a cat who loves the breeze immediately went up the tier and looked out into the open space. he sat for some time just looking across to the next block where some workmen were renovating a flat. then he decided to get even closer to the grills so he can actually really 'see' what's going on outside. Of course there was a breeze and he quite enjoyed himself until Bujang decided to use the scratch pole. Toro decided to leave his perch and use the scratch pole himself. :)

Friday tales

Yesterday grandma had to go for her eye checkup and had left the amigos to their own devices. She had shut the door to the kitchen (something we had specially installed so we could leave them to roam in the whole house in case we have to leave for appointments) and also closed the computer room door. So essentially the amigos had the run of the house. I came home early that friday and found Bujang making himself comfortable in Akira's old night cage. I think he was trying to convince me that I should keep this cage for him to play in and not give it away to the shelter :) Bujang likes to be in close spaces, where there is only room for one. So sometimes he sleeps in his carrier as I leave its door open just in case any of the kitties want some private space and of course his basket-in-the-sky. Maybe he could have been a one-only cat in the house as he doesn't seem to go out of his way to play with the others, although he would play when they invite him to.

I spent the whole afternoon with them just observing the goings on. And of course the two others spent their time in bed. :))

Rest and Relax

Akira making herself comfortable in the hot afternoon. She spent the whole time in bed and in the second picture, she was a liitle put out as Toro decided to join her in the garden. :))
