Who peed in my shower this morning huh?

Will the rascal please own up?

... I have left that life behind me san... trust me...

... no I did not do it. I promise I am telling you the truf...

... not me san. I do not go in that bathroom anymore. Its full of horrid boy cats. I have my own private facility.

...are you seriously looking at me? I should think not!

...why would I do such a thing? I am a very clean cat who knows what's what. Have you asked that rascal Terror Tanaka..hmmm?

And so it goes. I woke up this morning and saw a trail of pee in my shower, near the drainage hole. I actually did spy Terror Tanaka coming out of my shower but as I did not see the culprit in action, there was nothing to be done. I sprayed water and cleaned the area with detergent and then poured some vinegar over the area. I hope this would deter the culprit.

I also noticed lately that the boys have been very particular about what should go on in the two separate bins. One, I noticed was only for pee and the other only poo! This was a surprise as I did not know when they had come to an agreement over what was going to happen in their bins. I suspect that someone was in the pee bin when the suspect Tanaka wanted to do his business and he could not wait any longer. I had cleaned and washed out all the bins yesterday and put in fresh litter so it could not be that one finicky cat was protesting. I know its not Megat as his pee is extremely pungent *faint*. I asked grandma to wash out the vinegar later in case the boys were put off completely from going to the bins and to close the door to my shower. I hope this would be enough of a deterrent.

On a lighter note, I am rather thankful that the rascal had peed near the drainage as it was very thougthful of him. On second thoughts, the only one who had been taught to pee and poo in the drainage hole was Toro. He was taught by his previous family to do this. When he came to live with us. Bujang taught him how to use the bin!

I wonder if I have to ask Bujang to re-train everyone again.

Cool Evenings

Tanaka resting on the cat tree to catch the cool breeze after dinner...

Wild Island

Majestic trees...

Water rushing into the pond infront of the symphonic stage...
This afternoon I went to the Botanic Gardens to see the heritage trees - it seems we have 11 heritage trees. I only knew of one - the Tembusu. It was unfortunate that as soon as we arrived it started to drizzle. No fear I thought. We went round and round and asked the caretakers (the people riding buggies) where the heritage trees were. We finally found the Tembusu tree but had to abandon the trail as there was really heavy rain and we couldn't see our way. It was a pity not to be able to find the other 10.

Wednesday wiles

Each cat has found a new roost. Toro found out that he could rest on top of Megat's cage and be protected from sudden attacks by Terror Tanaka. He is also able to see all the goings on in the house as he has sweeping view of everyone and everything. he sometimes gets a nice breeze if we open the window. Tanaka decided that taking over Ms Akira's previous fav place would be revenge enough for all the time that she had tried to scare him. Bujang can sniff out his favourite cushion wherever we put it :))

Cat Tree

I got this cat gym from CompassPt at Sengkang from Pet Junction. I saw this tree from ksn's blog and asked her where to get it. It reaches almost to the ceiling and the amigos love sitting on the tiers to catch the breeze and of cos just sleeping in the basket. It fell apart once as Bujang is a heavy cat and his favourite roosting place is the basket. It shocked him and horrified me.So I had to reinforce it with pieces of plywood. If you see what is inside the hidey-hole, its one of the pieces of plywood I used. I had to reinforce or rather prop up the column that holds the basket with 2 pieces of plywood. I also had to tie the columns to the grill with cable ties so its stable. :) It has lasted me for a long time and I hope with constant reinforcement, it would last us for a long time yet.

Good-night Sunday

Zzzzzzzz

Good Morning Sunday

I lurve sundays...they're peaceful and quiet...

Sunday rest

Megat, its my turn now...

Megat did you hear me?

Sniff..sniff...Megat...Megat~~~~

This cat tree is a favourite with all the amigos. Tanaka has taken agreat liking to the basket as has Megat. The two boys Toro and Bujang now have to find other roosting places or take turns. Bujang is too nice to make anyone get out of the basket so he just sleeps in front of the TV, like grandma sometimes :)

Adoption News

Tanaka on his blanket now...

Tanaka on his second day with us in Nov 2007...

When I brought the 2 tabby kittens home, Cousin R said they were rather small at 2 months. Tanaka was much bigger when he was 2 months or so it seemed :) Tanaka has grown up quite a lot and at 8 months, he is much bigger than Megat who is 12 years old! I think he is as big as Ms Akira although he is still in fear of her.

Some weeks ago I had an email from someone wh0o wanted to adopt Tanaka. I was quite surprised as I had informed the site that he alreday adopted by the amigos but I had thought that maybe it would be better if he lived somewhere where he did not have to share living space with 4 other cats! I figured no multi-cat person would ask to adopt another cat! Cat_aunty gave me some good advice about thinking what would be the best for Rocket Tanaka. I think I am terribly selfish but I think Tanaka would be better off with me and the amigos because we love him :)

Tabby Kittens

2 tabby kittens that I rescued last week in Tanaka's cage...

The right one was the one that was slower in many things and therefore more skinny...

I do NOT like them san...I am going to sleep here!

Close-up of Tanaka asleep but still in a position of protest, complete with snarling lips..

F the groomer smsed me last week to say that her boss wanted to send the 2 kittens she rescued to the SPCA and she needed help to re-home them. Obviously I was not the prime candidate for more kittens and so I called Mooty's mommy. She was still looking for a friend for him (thank goodness). She told me to take them in and to bring them to work the next day. So I got them and put them in Tanaka's cage. THAT was a very bad idea. All the boys started to scream and snarl especially Tanaka. I told Tanaka that he used to be like them but he didn't believe me and told me to take them away!
I decided to put his cage in the computer room and when it was time for bed, the three boys started to snarl at each other. Tanaka hissed like the big kitty that he was which was quite impressive. But all went well the next day and when I came back from work, I cleaned the cage and Tanaka sniffed it. It passed the 3 boys' rigorous inspection and they spent the rest of the time peacefully. WHEW!
I am glad to report the 2 tabbies are very friendly to Mooty and they are all on their way to being great friends :)
I hope I have no more kitties to re-home as Mooty's home is now FULL. :)

Peace at last

Bujang taking time out to groom in peace...

Bujang decided he needed a new place to rest and be by himself. He climbed onto the computer table and made one smooth leap on to the cupboard top. This used to be Ms Akira's favourite place. It is now becoming his. Everytime he hears something strange, he would make a flying leap here, away from everyone and everything! I think Tanaka had persuaded him that he needed it :)

When I grow up I want to

be a house painter...

Fearless Tanaka sat calmly watching the painter do his work. After watching for some seconds, he decided he would like to participate and proceeded to paw at the paint can! No Fear Tanaka thinks everything and everyone is safe. He is a truly confident kitty unlike Toro who sat way behind him, watching from a place of safety :)
