Last Day of 2025

As we step toward the new year, our thought is simple: breathe deeply and live gently.

A frenzied, noisy life is not for us.

This morning feels like one of the last quiet ones with san. Tomorrow, 2026 arrives, and Friday follows close behind. So we sit here  a little longer, quietly, breathing deeply

Cheer up Tuesday

San had to go back to work this morning, and she wasn’t pleased. I knew she needed help, so I smiled and promised to help her with her books and cheer her up. She asked me to go with her for emotional support, but I had (more) important things to do —like a nap. San sometimes forgets I am a cat.

Manic Monday

and the drilling goes on and on. Thankfully, it’s happening outside our house, though the sudden starts and stops still unnerve us. . San closed the doors and windows, which helped a bit and made the house quiet again.

San is doing a quiet little countdown for the last week of 2025. It helps her keep school stress at bay, and she’s very relieved that school doesn’t start until the 2nd of January. We think this is very good planning.

This morning, after breakfast and our omega-3s, San took our pictures while we were still warm and sleepy. She says the omega-3s help with inflammation. We gently suggested that it would be even better if they helped us stay calm during the sudden horrors of construction noises too  but we are glad we live indoors where the life is gentle .

Easy Peasy Sunday

San was asking me how to make breakfast. I told her I survive mostly on tuna or chicken. She said she prefers bread, like a normal human. So I decided to teach her how to make  biscuits - that is my super power.

Not for us san!

San  said she was a little tired after cleaning all our bins, so she asked us to help with the laundry since it was Saturday. We were glad she’d found her bearings again, but we  reminded her that we do not do chores. Our official job is to  offer moral support from a safe distance.

We could tell she was thinking up something else for us to do, so we quickly announced that it was time to catch the morning breeze while it was still fresh. Luckily, she almost never disturbs us when we’re posted by the windows, so we spend a lot of time there.

Friday Notes

As usual, San is trying to keep our end-of-year promise of posting once a day so we can finish the year on a good note. She tried to put the tree away, but we convinced her to leave it up until Chinese New Year because it makes the house feel more festive.

Our only wish for 2026 is good health. That feels like the right wish, especially since San keeps telling us to do the laundry because she thinks it’s Saturday—when it’s actually only Friday. Hopefully, she gets the hang of things soon

A blessed Christmas

We’re celebrating a nice, quiet Christmas. San and her buddies already had a  party earlier in the week. She bought us brand-new collars and a tiny tree, and we were very excited about everything.

Our neighbour is on vacation, so there’s no music this year—but that’s okay, because San sang me a special song with my name in it when I sat on her this morning. That was the best Christmas present of all.

We wish everyone a day full of joy and love.

Easy Peasy News

San says we should treasure the very last days of 2025, so naturally we began with health checks. The good news is that, even though our sister Momo has a few hiccups, she remains her usual wonderfully strange self. She zooms around the house, meowing at absolutely nothing. She still meows in her sleep, and san has to call her name before she remembers to stop.

Her ultrasound showed some inflammation in her kidneys and GI tract. The vet wondered if it might be IBD, but after more checks and a long question session for san, he decided that SubQ fluids can wait and will only be started if needed later. Momo has also managed to put on a little weight without any appetite stimulant at all. She’s now 3.5 kg, up from 3.4 kg, which we consider excellent work on her part.

Manju is doing very well at a solid 5.4 kg, with strict instructions from the vet to stay exactly as he is. I’m hovering around 4.3 kg. I may have fewer teeth now, but they are impressively clean after my dental.

Today san is heading out to lunch with some buddies, leaving us mostly in charge. We’re perfectly fine with this arrangement, especially since she’s spent most of the December break keeping us company. We hope you are all well also. ❤️

Slow time Tuesday

San is taking things slow this morning and so are we. We all had a good sleep as there was no thunder and no rain all of last night and it looks like the day will be fine as well. My brother Manju is going to the vet today as san thinks every one of us should get a health check. She said that after everything that has happened to me and Momo, she would have to know if Manju is ok. Momo and I will be home taking it easy.

It’s raining again

I woke up to a gloomy day and slight drizzle. San said it might rain the whole day. But just for once I took courage and sat with my sisters instead of hiding out. It is true what san said. The rain didn’t hurt me at all. Hmmmm…..

Sunday at home

It rained for much of today and so san had to close the windows and door. So we didn’t get the usual breeze which we loved so much. Even the little person did not visit us today as she was inside most of the time. However Momo had a long conversation with our other little neighbours although we didn’t hear her talk much. We think she was just judging them as usual.

San hopes Momo is out of the woods now as she has managed to pee a little more each day. Momo had to go to the vet last Wednesday as she was not able to pee. The vet had to do another blood test and we were glad that she had no bacteria and especially no crystals as well. We know san was afraid of crystals most of all because of what had happened to Totoro and Mo also has polycystic kidney issues. Unfortunately Momo  is very sneaky at going to the bins and san has been having a hard time monitoring her. But she doesn’t think she needs to bring Momo  for a review next week. But we shall see.

All Done Sunday

I am glad to report that every one of us is well and we have no more vet appointments for the year. Momo had her ultra sound last Thursday but her vet was not around to discuss her results with san. But san said we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. Today began a little late as san was up until 2 am last night. She said next week will be prep week for 2026 and she had to make a plan. So we were up until 2 am as well as we thought it would be nice to keep her company. I did not go to the vet at all as I am very well and only 3 years old. My vet appointments will be next year. I told san I will cross that bridge when I come to it.
