My birthday …maybe

 San asked me how old I was yesterday. So we counted the months and I am two years old. San said …and some months.. as I was once a commcat. So we decided to celebrate my birthday and I showed san a pose. She said she would give me a treat. Actually she counted the months and my birthday was in May. But no matter. A treat is a treat. 

Saturday with san

I listened to soft music with san. I now can sit here without anxiety. It was nice just to be quiet and waiting for the rain. San said it might rain as the sky darkened suddenly.  

 

Yay! New sheets.

I like sitting on newly washed sheets as they do not have the scent of 2 girl cats. San wants me to try to sleep in the room as I am afraid  of rain and thunder and she thinks it would be too hard for me to sleep outside by myself. I told san that I would be ok but of course that is not true. I am a boy cat and I think I need to be brave. But for tonight at least the bed would smell a little of me. 

 

26. Last Sunday of vacation

 

MM: My sister Momo  is such a show-off. She thinks she is an acrobat  

My sister Sky is the cautious one. She said her brother Bujang taught her to be slow and steady when she was younger. San told us that this red chair used to belong to Bujang as well as he liked everything red despite being colour-blind. 

I, on the other hand,  really loved our new couch. It was smaller and easier to sit on. More importantly, it allowed us more room to run around the house. My sisters were both not used to the new couch so san asked them to use the red chair to sit on. But I am a boy and I am not afraid of anything …well only of rain and thunder perhaps. I sat here so san could take a good picture for the last Sunday of her school vacation post before she has to be back at work tomorrow.

24. Just hanging out

 I am just hanging out with san.  We’re both watching some interviews given by Squid Game actors. Sam said it was  fascinating  to see a Korean series, directed by a Korean director and  spoken in Korean  to be so popular with the world. Of course san doesn’t  speak Korean and I speak cat, but we were much entertained by the interviews. 

23. Monday Meditations

 This is the last week of San’s break. Actually Wednesday will be the day she has to go back to work for a short period of time. I comforted her this morning and we sat together quietly as we will not have these quiet chats together next week. She would be at work and I would be napping at home. But we both look forward to the weekends .

Chores

 Today I helped san with some chores especially changing our curtains. San finally decided to send the grubby ones to be laundered. I told san that would be the best solution for all. I sat here and then supervised her carefully. Our new curtains were really our old but freshly laundered ones with flowers on them. You can see it in my picture. It made the house more airy  as well. San then gave me treats as I was a good supervisor as I just sat on the job and left her to do all the work. 

18 Afternoon Meeting

We were supposed to have a meeting but Sky was  too busy napping after lunch. Tsk!

 

17. Another surprise

San was very surprised when I took a nap next to her last night. I had never done this before. But I was too sleepy and comfortable as my sisters were also sitting near me. But it was only a short nap as I had other things to do. 
 

16. All ready for Monday

After my breakfast I usually sit here with  san while she decides on her own breakfast. We also listen to some reiki music to prepare ourselves for the day. This morning I heard the rooster. He was very noisy.  But I enjoy hearing him as it means he is still safe outside. 

These are my stuffed toys all ready and neatly lined up. Later they would  be all over the living room. San usually lines them up before she goes to work. Nowadays I prefer Donkey as he took care of me when I was Outside. 

 

15. What’s that?

This morning I spent a lot of time just watching cat tv. Then I saw a beetle. It was the beetle from last night. It came through our window and then disappeared. We waited for it until it was bedtime  San got all of us into the room as she didn’t want us to run after it . Unfortunately san rescued it and released it Outside  Hrumohhff to you san! 
 

14 Just Because Us

 We told san we wanted to hear the morning bird sounds. We didn’t hear the rooster though. Hmmm….

13. Finally Friday…

 Today is the 2nd Friday of san’s  school break. We are glad for this quiet time together this morning. 

12. A Quiet Morning with san

 I had a quiet morning with san as my sisters were napping under the couch. I sat here as it was much cooler than at the doorway of the main gate.

Then I heard some noises outside. It was some kind of trolley with wheels I had seen them many times before. I sat near the door as I was curious. San said I was safe inside the house so I sat for some time. But it did not appear. I saw a sunbird on my grandma’s jasmine tree though. It sang quite loudly for such a small bird. I was glad about that.

 I reminded san that yesterday was Monday and NOT Tuesday which is today. And to make it better I decided to show her that I was not  grumpy all the time. I am a cat of many disguises.

8 Easy Peasy Sunday

 I plan to nap all day today. I had a late breakfast and also played with Momo for a bit. Last night there were great rumblings of thunder and so I went to sleep with san and my sisters. I felt much better as san closed the door to the room and we were all together. Thunder makes me nervous. So today I am a little sleepy. 

No San. It’s too much …

 I reminded San of the need for self-control when she put this collar on me.  I reminded her that I was a boy-cat and I do not need  ribbons on me especially when it came  with girly jewels. She said it was a stop gap measure as my own colllar was stained by the meds that the vet had given her for mite control. Why did I need that? Well my sisters go for grooming every 2 months and the vet said everyone should be protected. I think girls are too much trouble !

6. Sometimes …

 I hear strange sounds from the Outside. I am curious as to what they are but afraid as well. This is a good place when I find myself in these situations. 

5. Momo’s day Outside

I found the Outside to be very interesting although very hot. We went on the same trail as San said we kitties could then compare notes, which we did. At first I sat behind The Chairman (teddy) as I needed to feel more secure but later I just ignored him. I saw the same old birds that I had seen from outside my window but we had to take a winding trail as we were blocked many times by the workmen who were now painting the other flats. When I came home I was panting from the heat. San stopped for about 1/2 an hour under some trees so we could cool off but it didn’t work too well. San said perhaps next week she would bring us out at 6.30 am - the time she would have gone out to work. Hmmm…we need to tell San that would be too early for us. 

4. Family

 I would need to be very careful with Sky. When she is at the window I usually stay clear of her as she has big paws and sometimes slaps me when she is irritated. But momo and me are bffs. 

3. My Day Outside

 

I had to take a long rest when I got home from Outside. San said we went out for a whole hour. I saw one rooster and a hen. San  didn’t go near them. I was very quiet when we were out as I wanted to see many things. I made sure that I looked at san when there was a loud noise  so I was not afraid. It was a very good morning. 

1. Easy Peasy Sunday

 We went out in the morning at about 8. San and I went around the path to the park but it was under renovation. It was hot so san sat on the green seats to have some watermelon while I looked at the people walking. Later san asked me if I liked being out. I told her it was weird to have cats and crows look at me. I was a little frightened by that.

Easy Peasy Sunday

It will be a quiet Sunday as there would be no painters about. I prefer quiet Sundays to wind down the week and I get to listen to the sounds outside. I heard a very loud bird call. San told me it was a rooster. I asked her if it was inside like us. She said it may be a wild one from the park. 

Birds on the window sill

 The mynah visited us this  morning. It stood on our window ledge and lectured us on the rudeness of staring at strangers. We thought the mynah was the rude one. But mama said we should just enjoy it as it may not visit us again. 

Forever Loved

Sky: Finally, San is ready to show our memorial garden. I hope you're ready for a long post. I'm here for a reason—this garden belongs to me too. Our special space is next to our commcat brother, Megat. He passed about 11 years ago. His kitten has wings now, as he is our commcat angel, having once been a commcat himself before he lived with San.

 The first row belongs to FatBoy. He was the first commcat San cared for. He was fierce and loved to eat, so San gave him a Pixiu with a big fish. It's a lion that protects souls.

The second kitty belonged to Minah. She was a sweet cat who loved my brother, Bujang.

The third kitty is a little golden kitten. This one is mine, as it represents my four kittens who passed away before I even saw them. We were all very sick back then. San asked Akira to bring them to the Bridge, as they weren’t even a day old. Akira didn’t like having four kittens trailing after her too much, but I was grateful they made it safely to the Bridge.

San said she was once told that sometimes cats get lost—like FatBoy—and need a special service and a guide. So she gave FatBoy one and asked my rainbow brother, Totoro, to guide him.

The last kitty angel is for Baby. A commcat feeder left her at our house, waiting for someone to take her to the vet, but she passed. San and I were with her, so I think she wasn’t afraid.

San says it’s good for a bridge commcat to have a place to come home to. It brings great relief.

The votes are in…

As a concerned catizen I asked san to tell me the results of the GE. She said there were no surprises overall but she was glad there would be greater representation for all. There were the usual grouses and insults but we would have to wait for the next GE to see real change.  I told her she would be over seventy and I would be 10 years old by then. She sighed and asked me if I wanted a treat. YAY!!! (But I think she was just trying to stop me from asking more questions!). 
 

Finally Friday

This morning I decided to sit on Sky’s scratcher. She was napping next to San and didn’t notice me. It was nice and spacious. No wonder she  likes it so much. Mine is much smaller though. I will have to ask San to get me one as well. 
 

What’s all that noise San?

 We heard the truck announcing the general elections several times today. San told us it was going to be on Saturday and so the truck announcing the elections will roll tomorrow as well. I am curious to see the results as I am also a Singapore catizen.

Momo is such a baby. She always wants to be where I am. San said she is  as old as I am. How can she be such a baby san?

Saturday Birdsong

 It is sometimes nice to listen to the birds with your sister. San opened the window for us and heard a sudden burst of noise. So we sat and listened together. 

I was sitting with san on the bed as there was no place for me at the window. I was much too late to get a viewing space. But the bed was ok and san was just sitting with us listening to the morning as well. 

What am I really?

 Sky: I am a lion but san thinks I am a kittykat.

MM: I am an expert camper but san thinks I am a naughty boycat

Momo: I am a cuddly teddy bear but san thinks I am a wanna-be Queen. 

Tsk-tsk. We don’t think san knows us well 

Is it a bath san?

It is already 6.15 am. It is still dark out but I can hear the rain still. It started from yesterday and has not stopped. San said it will probably continue throughout the day as it’s ‘that’ kind of rain. I wonder who is washing as I can’t see anyone or any cat. When my sisters go to the groomers the get a bath. San said no one is washing anyone and that rain is a natural thing. Hmmm. San said one of my rainbow sisters used to sit under the rain many times  until she came to live here. San brought her to the vet and thankfully the vet said there was nothing wrong with her. This water is a great mystery. 

 Rainbow sister Popsicle Popps. She used to sit in the rain when she was downstairs. She must have been one strange kitty. 

San said I look very much like Popps. Even the markings on our heads are alike. It is only our tails that are different and of course our colour. She only saw it this morning and wand was very surprised. 

Friday at home

 Today San is home as it is Good Friday. I had good naps and am now listening to the rain outside. There is some thunder but I know it is outside of my house so I am safe. 

Camping Trials

 San told me to take many pictures of my camping trip. But I only took 6. I tried to get Tiger to go with me as I was afraid of being lonely but he wanted to stay with Sky. So I went by myself. I climbed over white rocks and saw Nature at Her finest. I even tried to hunt a small lion. But it was all too much for me and I fell asleep. When I came home san gave me my favourite blanket and I then napped the rest of the day away. 

Going Camping

San said a little yellow will make this  picture of my camping trip better. I think I am enough. 
 

Saturday with Manju

I had to hide out as san wanted to bring me to the vet. I was not feeling so good on Thursday and was also quiet and kept to myself yesterday. Last night my ears felt hot so I had to rest. This morning san touched my ears as told me I seemed ok. Then I ran to the kitchen for breakfast so san decided not to bring me to the vet. Phewwww! She thinks it’s the freaky weather we have been having and in a few days there might be a heat wave.
