We have renamed him Rezki meaning blessing. It is not often that a black cat can even be photographed well and we were blessed with this. He is looking very handsome and this was after his SubQ yesterday.

Blackie Update
Blackie went to the vet for his review. I was pleased to know that he is hydration is better and the vet was pleased that he had lost weight. In 2.5 weeks he had gone from 4.9 to 4.75. The vet advised greater loss though. His BUN values are within normal range but his creatinine remained constant at 2.8. His phosphorous is at 4.1 so that is ok.
The vet said that he should do fine with just once a week SubQ although he prefers that we do it twice a week. I asked this as I would have to release him back to the car park as Poppy is extremely upset that he is with us. She would scream and yell when she sees him and of cos her territory is curtailed as he needs to be in the kitchen. Kidney disease is long-term and can be very expensive as well and so I do not have much hope that anyone will adopt him with it.
He will be in the car park next week after his acupuncture session but we will be able to keep a close eye on his progress, for which I am grateful. We can do the SubQ at a quiet place downstairs and catch him for his acupuncture treatments as well.

Helping San on Wednesday

Thankful Tuesday
Whenever I hear about scary stuff I hide under my blanket. Yesterday something scary happened and something even more scary could have happened - but didn't.
We are very thankful that our friend Big Nose was saved from pts (high likelihood because of his age) at the spca. Sometimes karma works to make everything come together perfectly- that cat_aunty saw the post, that cabs were available and Rainbow Spencer came to help. Sometimes things are just perfect. We think Rainbow Spencer is doing an extraordinary job where she is.

Sunday News of the week.
These days San would sometimes allow me to have no collar as its hot. I told Fern about it as well. So now even if I have the collar on, it would just be one collar and not two as before. It's much better. This was me on Friday telling San to stay still so I can get some sleep on her lap.
Yesterday I saw Adrian and he said my fur was very soft. He had helped me to stretch and massaged my muscles. He is still very puzzled as to why I am still overgrooming and of cos so is San. I told Fern that it has become a habit and difficult for me to break away. However I only needed to see Adrian in 3 months and I am glad for that as I do not like being out of my house.
I like the morning sun here. It's just the right amount and I also get to feel the cool breeze as well. I don't run off when I hear footsteps anymore. It's quite interesting to see the people walking past my house. They don't disturb me so it's ok.
Here I was at the osteopath for my regular checkup. Adrian said that my lymph was swollen and he had tried to drain it. He said I may have caught something. San told him that last month I didn't want to eat any wet food and had preferred kibble only and had constipation. Adrian also noticed that I had lost some weight. I am now just 4.2. I used to be 4.7. So I have to see him again in 6 weeks.
I am feeling better about the black cat. San said it was a temporary arrangement that he was in my house. It was to make sure that he got better from his coughs. But I do not like him being in the kitchen. San told me not to get upset as he was like me before when I needed help. Even so I do not like him and had told him so.
Life is much better with all the kitties. We seem to have found a new rhythm and way to live together. I am now not so stressed trying to make sure everyone got along. I told Fern that I am beginning to enjoy my life more. Tanaka and I also play chase together much more and I can jump up on chairs and tables like he can. I also know that the black cat is just taking refuge here to get better. I told them but Popps just does not like him. I told Fern that I know the black cat arrangement is just temporary so I am not bothered.
The human thinks this my best picture to date. I am feeling much better as well. The human told me that I needed some help with my chest and hydration. I had gone for acupuncture treatments and had twice weekly SubQs in the house.
Human: He will go for his review next week. If his hydration is ok I would need to release him back to the carpark. As he is our community cat, I would just need to catch him when it is time for his acupuncture and have him in the house for just the one night. He is feeling closed in as he is not allowed outside of the kitchen as this would put a lot of pressure on my other cats.
I have also been kicked out of Facebook for some reason. It seems FB had detected some suspicious activity in my page. I do not know what was suspicious and can't even log in to see. So now that avenue for adoption is closed as well. So I think it best for him to return to the carpark for the present as this carpark is not as dangerous as the other one.

Monday Mood
His pics sent by his adopters on Sunday night
Bluey used to be just the Chocolate Siamese in need of help last week. He was found hungry and thin and he was so hungry that he didst care about the 2 resident community cats who were upset with him for taking away 'their' food and water. It took only 1 week from his capture to his vet visits and now to his new home. We think his good looks play a large part to his now adopted status as well. Good Luck Bluey!

TGIF
My message for today is a simple one. Adopt a commcat and save one life from the hazards of life on the streets.
This kitty, now called Bluey came to where san and another caregiver feed commcats on Monday. The place was not a safe one and san felt that this cat needed emergency help. So they got together and removed the cat from the very dangerous car park that 2 other cats are now still residing. On Wednesday night, some one came to take him away for fostering and now he already has a forever home. He will be going to his new home with a doggie and human brother this Saturday. We are very pleased at this.
san is now taking care of Blackie and he is at my home. I don't like him much but I keep an eye on him all the time just in case he has ideas of staying in my house. He is already taking over my kitchen. san is trying to help him with his kidneys by making sure he has subq fluids twice a week and he goes for acupuncture once a week as well. His cough is now better with the TCM. san thinks it will take a longer time to get him adopted and she is trying to get him some exposure through our FB. She hopes that he would also be saved from the life of a commcat like I was. Please pray for this little kitty.

Comm cat Blackie is in the house
Our commcat Blackie needed urgent help so we catnapped him and sent him to the vet. He has kidney problems with his creatinine on 2.9 and his BUN values were high. His X-ray confirmed his cough and phlegm problems as well. He was given 250 ml SubQ at the vet's and we brought him to acupuncture to help him with his chest.
It seemed he may have been in many fights as his top saddle was too tough for the SubQ needle as well as the acupuncture needles. But at least we managed to help him through.
Yesterday was his 2nd SubQ and acupuncture and already he has not coughed or sneezed at all. He will stay with me for another week as he has to go back to the vet for review of his cough and kidney test.
He has an even temper with a soft meow. I am trying to get him re-homed so he won't have to stay in the carpark and get sick again. But of cos it difficult to re- home a black cat and one that has kidney issues will be even more difficult but one step at a time.

Saturday Morning Adventures
San and I went for a quiet morning walk.
After making sure that we were quiet safe, I had a quiet look around.
San told me to watch out for rats. She thinks a rat might just pop out of the hole to bite me! She is very funny is San.
My sister went down as well but San said Popps preferred to just stay in her carrier. She brought her bff with her.
Her bff protected her from the curious people at the bus stop. It got seriously hot so San brought Popps home at about 9 ish.
