Megat on sunday

Megat the explorer...

He has grown much in confidence and today he got onto the TV console just so he could examine it. He has completed his first course of Eprex 2000 but he is still on sub-q. He will be going to the vet next week to get his numbers seen to.

Sunday outside...

What did you say? No I just want to sit here to enjoy the outside...no walking needed...

Toro was very anxious about the outside but I know he wanted to be out...

It's not so bad san...but I am taking it slow...

Let me sit with you and Bujang for abit...

Okay...Bujang is here so it must be okay...

Okay...I still need to sit with Tanaka for a while...

I am a little okay now thanks...The outside is not so frightening now...

Bujang and Tanaka saw the cat grass and became too absorbed eating it to help Toro...

The boys spent some time outside. Bujang and Tanaka enjoyed it tremendously. I was a little worried about Toro but he plucked his courage and made it safely outside although he was never too far away from his bruffers. He is getting his courage back slowly but surely.

Bujang: Get off you! NOW...

Tanaka: If I ignore him, he will calm down...

Bujang looks nervous ...

Bujang and Tanaka has been at it for a few days already. Increasingly Tanaka tells Bujang that he is NOT afraid and would give Bujang as good as he gets...sometimes. AT other times, he just hides when he can but when he has no room to escape, he fights back. Hmmm...the makings of a cat with gumption. There will be some fights in their future to see who is BOSS.

Sister S told me that I had posted Awang's picture the wrong side up. Its supposed to be a window. :)) Sorry to Awang and to cat_aunty, whose sharp eye spotted the strangeness :)

Creature Comforts...

There is nothing like a good blanket...
There is nothing like grandma...

Megat has grown from strength to strength in confidence. He now makes a choice of sitting with grandma and walking to the kitchen (even when it is not dinnertime). He explores the kitchen bathroom at length and even rests on grandma's bed. He no longer has serious bald spots on his hind legs. The only cat that he is nervous with is just Bujang who frequently tries to bully him. He has really come to his own.

Some water please...

This is because my cat Megat decided that ...... he wanted to drink water from a cup...

...so I gave him some ice-cold water which... ...he drank for a full minute...

It all started when Cousin R put her glass of cold water on the table. Megat decided to investigate and seeing or smelling that it was water, he decided to drink of her glass. He drank quite abit. We thought it was funny but a fluke. Today, Megat sniffed at her glass again but we had to stop him as it was soda. I decided to get him some cold water and he drank again. So I think apart from his usual stops at the CatIt, I can also encourage him to drink more water this way. Btw, I decided that Megat will have his own cup, just like every bean in the house. The blue one would be his :)

Awang

Sister S finally got going with the scanner and sent me a picture of her cat Awang. In this picture is was only 2 years old. He is now about 10 or 11 - just like Megat. Awang used to terrorize the neighbourhood but now he is older and needs to rest more. He is now more an indoor cat.

Its Tuesday- We Rest!

Toro fav hangout...

He just had a session with the groomer last Friday. I told the groomer NOT to cut his whiskers and to shave his tummy fur so he would be cooler. Grandma reminded me not to shve him as she said he is looking handsome already and she wants him to look good. So now he sports a little longer fur...but not too much. Eventhough he likes being brushed, I have not found a brush that would allow me to give him a good brushing. I saw the 'furminator' at PL but the demonstration video was too scary. But it seems to work very well to get rid of all that fur that would contribute to shedding.

Oh well...

Tanaka waited for Ms akira to come down from her high roost. He sat on the cat blanket on grandma's bed and looked up at her for some time. Then as if he knows she would not make an apperance, he decided that a nap would be just as good. :)

Finally we got the results of the job interview that I had gone to some weeks ago. Yes, I have the job with 4 other people. 2 from my dept and 2 from another dept. I hope this means I will not have to do stuff like appraisals, deployment or managing resources. I do not have my job description yet but I think I had better re-design my job myself so no one will design it for me!

Twosome Tuesday

Ooohhh..its too hot. Thank goodness I can rest here wif my old toy...
Yes san. I know this is my old toy. It used to be in my old cage that you gave away to the old aunty in Joo Chiat...

Tanaka has changed sleeping and resting places. He no longer likes sitting on Ms Akira's new cage as it has the tendency to roll. The rollers have no anti-roll machanism. He has rolled himself across the living room twice when he jumped onto the cage:) Bujang takes it all in his stride and Ms Akira quite likes it :)

I found his old toy in one of the carriers and gave it to him for comfort. He likes to cuddle the toy cat when he's resting.

I do not like thunder...

Its growling...must be a fierce cat...

Bujang is the only one this evening who showed some nervousness at the thunder. Firstly he hid under the table and now he is in Ms Akira's old cage. I wonder what made him nervous today as he was not nervous before. I told grandma not to comfort him when he hears the thunder as he may think it a reward and so would continue with this behaviour. So we just let him do sit quietly where he is. The rest of the boys are just sleeping and even Ms Akira dares to be out on top of the fridge.

Toro was very helpful in the chores this morning. Afraid that I would be bored with sweeping the floor, he decided that we should play agame of hide and seek :)

This Sunday I see...

Ya san. I expect a quiet sunday...as usual...
No rain so please can we have the window open?

I am glad the cat seat is used often as I feared that the amigos may not take to it at all. I had it made actually for Bujang so the seat is very spacious but Bujang does not like it too much. The floor of the room is not level so it wobbles a tiny bit. I was told to get a small bit of carpet to place it on so it would be stable. But Toro likes it quite alot and increasingly Tanaka has taken to using it too. :)

Easy Saturday

He takes a great deal of pleasure in the breeze and likes the way the DaBird silver lure rustles in the wind :)

We had a busy evening today celebrating Tanaka's gotcha day. The boys ate all the treats heartily and had a good time. Then Toro and megat asked to be brushed and everyone is now alseep. It is a good tuesday for us. We hope that Fiver , the community cats and the kittiies with the mommies and daddies are all doing well.

Its my gotcha day...I am 1 year old today.

I thought san furgot all about my gotcha day. I was not happy...

THE CELEBRATION

Always get Big Brother Bujang to eat first. He is the BOSS...
Actually I do not like the jumper but san boughted it for Bujang when he was one year old. I fink its tradition :)


All the guests are eating and celebrating my gotcha day with angel treats. Yummy. We had many many treats...

Hmmm...who is missing? Megat and Ms Akira. I wonder where they are. I invited them too but they are shy maybe...

I am glad Ms Akira had some treats although she ate hers on the fridge...

And Megat ate his under the table...

Ooohh I am so tired from celebrating my gotcha day. I fink I will rest now. I fink its time to take off this jumper san...please...

Btw I would like to thank effurybody fur attending my gotcha day too. It was a good day but now I am very tired and would like to nap.

...and of course I had to take the jumper off as he refused to move in it after his treats. Once I removed the jumper, he got up and ran off :)
