Bujang had a quiet birthday yesterday. We gave him extra treats with his dinner - salmon and he ate them all up very happily. The other kitties also had a share but not the same amount. He was very noisy. I think he thought we forgot his birthday. He chased all the boys about and invited me to play hide and seek. It was quiet but I think quite enjoyable.

Dinner with the WildBunch
FatBoy
The Visitor. He needs a name since he has adopted us...
Putih
The WildBunch were not very hungry this evening. they only ate a portion of their tuna and chicken, even FatBoy. The old aunty suspected that someone else has been feeding him as he has not been hungry these past few days.
It seems that The Visitor actually has a family who lives 3 blocks away from us. It seems that the father of the family has stopped feeding him regularly. When he came to us, he was very thin with bald patches on his back but now he is very fat with a very shiny even coat. I guess now that he is a picture of health, the family would find even fewer reasons to take care of him. I think his previous caregiver (or his 1st caregiver) had neutered him, therefore the tipped ear. I think this clever cat now has two feeding areas!
Putih was her usual active self and after dinner, she ran about running after shadows. She is really very cute and happy.
I hope the WildBunch will always be happy and safe from harm.
Cal's resting place
We did not have the chance to meet the old aunty to tell her of the burial but she came down anyway at the time where we would usually feed the WildBunch. She was very quiet when she saw the urn and then she made a choice of the tree. Its a pretty tall tree and we can see it from far away.
There were four of us. Cousin R and I and the old aunty and her good friend. After we buried the ashes, her friend asked us if we had brought an offering. When we told her we didn't bring any, she said she would get some milk to pour over the site. The old aunty cried a little after the burial but she said Cal would be happy where she was now.
It was a small private service and I think it was a closure for every one of us.

Sunday in the park
and he did....
he sat and watched the goings on from behind the palm fronds...
It was very restful but the sun was getting hotter and I told him I would bring him to his favourite ixora park..
Here Bujang curled and turned about on the rough concrete...
He had a very good time and did not realise he was being watched....
by a very pretty calico from behind the bushes....
She sat quietly, made no noise and did not attempt to talk to him...
How to own a corner...
Another exquisite illustration...
The translation:
there is a child in my heart.
when she feels that she is not in sync with the world, she would hide in a corner.
there are songs for her to sing, riddles to solve, memories to contemplate, dreams to be picked up and collected like fallen leaves
in the corner, she breathes lightly, walks slowly
the spaces between the notes becomes music
there is a beautiful new world in the silence and blank space
there is a child in my heart
each time she hides in the corner, it is but an temporary absence because
she needs timeto find her place in the world again
Thank you aunty_p and cat_aunty for translating the blurb for me.
I did think from the pictures that it must be about finding your space in the world. Where silence and time is your friend.
So I will probbaly go to Kinokuniya to get the rest of the books :)

Out in the park
Bujang decided on a new vantage point where he could see sll the happenings under cover...
Taking a rest after all that spying...
Finally! Some grass!
Maybe I can get something better in here...
Bujang did not protest when I bundled him into the carrier at 8.30 this morning to bring him to the park. We went to a new section but he didn't like it and told me to go to the usual place. Once there he stepped out and immediately went for the grass. The park is a little changed and there were new plants all round so Bujang spent some time exploring. We met an old man who wanted to take his pictures. Bujang of course suddenly became camera shy and refused to look at the man. It seemed the man's granddaughter liked cats but was a little afraid of the real thing. So the man takes pictures of cats to show her :)) I got some grass to bring home with me in case Bujang wanted some more. I had run out of cat grass. But Bujang did not like eating the grass at home at all. He only eats them when he is in the park. Funny kitty :)
Butterflies and cats
The old aunty told Cousin R last Thurdsay that as she was sitting in the early evening, she saw a butterfly perching near the table where she sat. She said it had Cal's colours. She thinks it was Ca'/s spirit coming back to say her final goodbye to the old aunty as she did not get a chance to see Cal in hospital at all. She was much comforted and who knows what the truth is. I would like to think that she was right.
It reminded me of a japanese movie I once saw The ballad of Narayama. It was a very sad movie but I was happy when I saw the mother coming back to tell her son that what he did was right. She came back to forgive him. he saw a butterfly among the flowers.
I would be picking up Cal's ashes tomorrow from the vet and we would be putting the ashes around her favourite tree. I hope to be able to tell the old aunty tomorrow so she could be there too.
On a sad note, we wish to tell Lincoln of ksn's house to be happy and play with the other happy kitties in heaven.
How to own a corner...
I saw this book at Popular today and decided to buy it. Its in Chinese so I only get to look at the pictures. I think its about finding your place in the world (although I may be wrong). I love the cat pictures but the rest of the book is pretty exquisite. It features colourful drawings of young people against a backdrop of nature and everyone is always quiet and restful. I wonder what the book says. I have taken some pics and of cos I have also placed the blurb in the entry. Can anyone tell me what the book is supposed to be about and who the author is?
Most of the pictures are like this. The human bean is always in the corner, very small compared to the vastness of nature..
Picture one.....
[Shhhh]
Ok this is the blurb. If anyone can tell me what it says, I would be grateful. I think I will try to find more of his/her book once I know who it is.
I like this one very much. The next one shows the boy putting his finger through the wall to stop the water from rushing into the compound, much like the story of the Dutch boy who saved the Netherlands from the floods...
[I walked..very long, along the way heard the mermaid singing, she sounds melancholic, sad/pitiful, realised in a corner of the world lies some sad stories.]
Then it showed this picture of the boy in bed with his cat, looking at his finger. Btw , when the water pushed through the wall, the boy had a fun time playing in the water....

NOTE: The words in bold have been translated for me by aunty_p. Thank you aunty_p :)

Tanaka's Sunday
Let me fing about it ...my whiskers tell me there are strange fings outside...
Ok. I will try fur you. My ears can hear all kinds of fings...I know you are here...but...
Tanaka was very uncertain of the outside. I brought him to the park but he didn't want to go out as mamy people were out in the morning. He sat for 15 minutes in his carrier although he looked out intemittently but did not get out. I decided to wheel him to another void deck where it was more quiet. He decided that it was much safer there and walked out after some time. He looked left and right and left and right, went into his carrier, came out and finally he sat on the low stone 'bench'. After that, he had 2 adventures...
