Eid Mubarak

We chose Rezki to be the face of our Hari Raya card this year. He has grown up a lot and deserve the place of honour.

 All the amigos had on new collars to celebrate Hari Raya. I hd to take these pictures for 2 days just so I can get them to show off their gooodpetcollars.

Yestedday was Hari Raya. Bujang sat here and sometimes in his teepee to oversee the proceedings. The others were all hiding out in the rooms as they all knew something was up. The day went well and when the kitties made an appearance, they were fussed over. Popps of cos wanted none of it and hid herself on top of the cupboard and spent the day alone. It was a good day as none of them were stressed out and they could come and go at will.

Copycat

Yesterday Bujang spent his time on the coffee table while I was watching tv. Rez decided it was a little dangerous to sit with Bujang and so he decided to copy him instead while on the floor. Rez is learning to be calmer and to copy the boys. I think he may be finally settling down for a bit.

Just Because

Finally...

Popps and Tanaka spent the morning together enjoying sunpuddles. This was a special moment as this was the first time they had sat so closely together, if at all. It had taken about 4 years to get here!

The birdies and I

Bujang watches cat videos on Youtube at night while I use my phone. In a sense we both surf together. Last night, he decided, after watching 2 bird  videos, that he would try to catch one. So he hid his head to the side of the iPAD and waited for a bird to eat a seed. Then like a flash, his paw would strike at a birdie. He had infinite patience and did that for some time. I had to take the iPAD way from him so we both can get some sleep. 

Just Because

I need to complain about san. She bundles me up and then she makes me take medicine every morning. The only thing I like about this is the ice cube that she places on my cheeks and eyes. It helps with the itch. San tells me I am looking very well and indeed I feel so much better as well. I am at the better cycle of my eczema. In a few days my face will turn redder but until then I am a happy gurl. San also tells me that the scalloped edges of my eye are not getting more pronounced. When I first came to live here, the scalloped were worse and sharper. She thinks she has managed to help me take care of my eyes in my older years like she takes care of grandma's eyes as well. I dont have to use eye drops though. san thinks its my diet and all my meds that have contributed to me improved cornea. 

Just Because

san told me to look at the camera this morning but I didn't feel like it. This was the best picture she got. I think she was lucky to get even that as it was very early in the morning. I wanted to say that I try my best at being a good brother but I can't understand why the cats here are so still. I have gotten into trouble with them and san when I tried to persuade them to jump about (okay I did slap them about a bit). The timeouts I got were worth the fun!

Just Because

Hello everyone. I was telling san that she needed to tell my side of the story with Rez. I was very tolerant for 2 years. I knew he was young and I thought he would settle down. But there is such a thing as 'a little too slow.' I think Rez is like that so I am taking a firmer hand with his education. I am glad my sister Akira is taking a more proactive approach as well. i have decided to follow her example. 

I am glad to report after many firm reminders, he is no longer harassing me quite as much. I am letting my sister deal with him more and more as I know she can do it and it makes her feel part of the family to do this. It will be three years this December. When will he learn do you think?

Just Because

I will be 11 in November this year. I came to stay with mama when I was about 8 weeks old. I used to be as naughty as Rezki but now I am mellow and very loving. I used to scare my sisfur Akira years ago but now I am thankful that she protects me from Rezki and would not allow him to disturb me at all (if she is not sleeping that is).

Metamorphosis

2.5 years ago he was called Blackie, just for the color of his coat. This was Blackie after dinner. When he heard the key rings, he would yell for us to wait so we would know he was coming to dinner. he had only 2 meals a day and sometimes not even that as he would sometimes be afraid to come out if he was chased off by people the day before. Sometimes there would be feral dogs who would come for food left by others and chase him off.

Last year, on this date he looked like this. Still surprised and he was not allowed free reign of the whole house yet. so I would have taken this picture when I was home and it would have been late afternoon.

This was last Sunday. He owns the bedroom now. He had been allowed full reign of the house but he decided that my bedroom was best. Now, however, little by little he has decided to come out in the evening to sit with the family which was good. It allows the otehr cats to get used to his presence and for him to figure out what living with a family is like. It took Popps about a year to figure this out. Rezki is taking a much longer time. This will be his 3rd year in the house. 

Easy Peasy Sunday

Our first Easy Peasy Sunday since so long ago. One noteworthy thing was Rezki’s picture. These days he hardly ever opens his eyes when san takes his picture in the bedroom. Before he used to stare at her until she finished. San thinks he’s getting more comfortable and less wary. San also thinks that he is comfortable in the house. Now we all wish that he would stop badgering us. San says that would come in time.
