Goodnight Thursday

zzz...
She is a great cuddler :)

How are you now Megat?

Megat's wound is getting better. The area around it is clean and he hardly ever worries it these days. There is sometimes a little hint of liquid although the lanced site is now knitting together. He has 5 more days of antibiotics to go. He sits quietly while we clean the site so the twice a day recommendation is a breeze.

Just Because

Boys will be boys!

I am collared!

If I look sad enough will you take it off san?

Sister N came to help grandma this afternoon and saw that Megat was trying to lick the lanced site and so she collared him. He was pretty unhappy and of course could not walk about properly. So Sister N decided to put Megat in this basket where he stayed put. I think he was nervous about walking and jumping about in his collar.

The good thing was he could not lick his wound but the bad thing was he didn't get to drink water either and he did not go to the bins. Therefore as I was giving him his meds and suppository, he decided to go right there in the towel. AOHHH! But I knew he was quite desperate and so just cleaned him up. He immediately went to pee right after his meds too. Poor Thing!

The good news was right after dinner, I didn't have to put the collar on him again as he behaved well and didn't lick his wounds. He tried once but he got a mouthful of antiseptic powder! So he stopped.

I decided to clean his wound again before he went to bed. The wound had dried up already and I think he would not worry it anymore this night. I hope...If not, he would have to be in the collar again tomorrow.

How THE BITE happened

lazing about on san's bed...

Tanaka: I fink I know what happened. san was not in the room so she told me to tell all. As you can see, I am THE BOSS when it comes to who gets on the bed (except when Bujang is on the bed offur cos). When san came into the room 2 weeks ago, she saw a lot alot alot offur black fur on it. But as a human, she sometimes cannot fink furry well. She just used the BIG green monster to eat up all the fur. But she knows eventhough I always jump and run after Megat, I have NEFFUR bitten him. Toro would swipe him when he gets in the way of brushing fur but he has NEFFUR bitten Megat. So I fink you know what san suspects. When Bujang wants anyfing, you give it to him or else he would swipe you wif his scary nails and bite you too.

That is what san suspects. Offur course sometimes my bruffer Toro can be stubborn but he will only wrestle. Although san has told me to tell the truf, I know I need to be politically correct (as I am trying to learn how to be a politician and maybe I can become President offur Singapurr later in the year.....hmmmm) So I tell the truf as much as I can!

san: When I came into the room then, everyone was sitting about looking pleased. Maybe they were conspiring and keeping secrets. I had to put them all in the room as Ms Akira had the living room then. Maybe I should just have let Bujang alone outside as Bujang and Ms Akira are friends and the 3 boys would not bite each other although they do get on each others nerves often enough.

Thank goodness its only a bite!

Megat's shaven site where the bite was. The vet had lanced the skin and cleaned it of pus.
Megat getting some shut eye...

The vet confirmed the site as the result of a bite and she squeezed some pus out of it. I did think it was pus as after the panic attack, I relaxed and went to scrutinize the site and saw some liquid ooze out of it. There was also a bad smell. I smelled it last night but did not put two and two together.

He had a 30 minute minor op when the vet sedated him and then lanced the site. She said it was 1 cm deep and she saw 2 puncture holes. I was healed and the other one was the one that caused the infection. I was very relieved that it was just that (although just that was still quite serious). Since he was going to be sedated anyway, I had the vet micro-chip him too.

When he came home, he had a cone and was very unsteady. The vet recommended that I just leave him in the carrier but he was unhappy and so I released him. He kept sliding and slipping all over the floor. But I knew he was hungry as it was past dinner time. He had some dinner and then went to sleep. I cleaned up the wound and gave him one antibiotic- clavamox.

The wound is now clean, with no jagged edges and I think he would be sleeping the night away without me having to make him wear the collar. he didn't even try to lick his wounds at all. We will see about tomorrow but as I would be at work, I may put the collar on him just to be safe.

Oh dear Megat...

Not again san

This morning, when he had his morning wipes, I felt a a hard clump of fur at his side, near his armpit. I was wondering yesterday why he spent a lot of time licking that side of his body and so I looked closer this morning. Indeed it was a whole clump close to his body and I also felt a hard lump under it!! But it was a square, not like the one I felt when he had lymphoma before.

So as soon as I get get an appointment at the vet's, we would go today. He just had his 4-monthly review and Dr L said there was nothing wrong and there was no lump in his lymph system. His blood test was A+. So I think it might be the site of the sub q as I would always give him the sub q near the site. I hope this is it and not something more.

Zzzz Saturday

I had such a tiring time napping and so need to get some real shut-eye!

When you are a cat...

You are allowed to sleep on your person's hand and stop her from typing. Then she would have to pet you instead! This is a secret that all cats know and we take advantage of.
