let me sniff at columns for a bit. You don't know what can happen ....

Saturday Morning View
Truly this is the better place to put this cat tree as the kitties can a good breeze and can keep watch on the corridor. They just sit there and watch the neighbours pass by and as they know they are safe, they would sit there quite confidentally. By 'they' I mean only Bujang and Tanaka. Toro is still quite afraid of strangers and prefer sitting on the floor near the doorway, where no one would notice him. Megat does not like being anywhere near the doors and windows :)

Window Sitting on Eggs :)
This is what ours looks like- not so pretty but quite serviceable...
Our new arrangement for our old cat seat is working out well. I had toyed with the idea of asking me friend to build us a new cat exercise platform but i thought if I place it in another position and elevate it, then maybe the amigos would enjoy it and they did.
I realise that Korea has really good things for cats from scratching posts to exercise platforms to houses. They are small and compact too but they do not sell anything out of Korea, no international shipping although that would be exortbitant too. Still, they have good designs which all cats would enjoy.
Mera in the outdoors
Cat_aunty took Mera for a walk yesterday. He sat under his favourite tree for 30 minutes or so, quite relaxed. But he made his grievances known by going to bed straight after the walk. THAT will teach YOU , human!
Cat_aunty had to lock him up when he tried to leave at 10 pm last night. He was not happy even after she told him it would be safer for him to remain indoors and he closed his eyes and sulked. But at least he gets some outside time under watch and that is always better than running about uncared for. The outside is very dangerous for all cats in Sinagpore unless they are supervised.

FatBoy Update and Polysillic Suspension
This evening I thought I would try to give FatBoy his Polysillic III Suspension that was supposed to bond his phosphates. The aunty also came aback again to see him and as I was chatting with the aunty, FatBoy decided to do a bunk and ran off after he ate some of his food. He ran very quickly which made a little glad to see he could even do this.
He had quite a shock when he tasted the suspension and so he should. But he swallowed most of it. He was not so eager to eat the food with the Apo-K 600 though. Cousin R said we could try to put the Apo-K 600 in the suspension. We will try that tomorrow when he gets his SubQ and Eprex. I do think we need a lot of luck with this.
Goodnight Tuesday
FatBoy Update
Apo-K 600 mg for potassium (used to be 1/4 per day and now increased to 1/2 a day)
Kidney Activator - homeo meds
070610 - Eprex 2000 because his PCV is 30% (29%-53%) - every 3 days
Polysilic Suspension 2ml - to be given with his SubQ as I do not want to stress him everyday. Dr B L said it was okay to do this. It is supposed to taste pleasant and smells of mint. It binds his phosphates.
We are concerned about the increase in CRE levels from 7.6 (from his 2nd test) to 8.4. His CRE was 8.2 when he was tested at MP. His BUN has decreased from 141 to 134. The vet is also concerned about his phosphate levels
The vet also said his kidneys are only functioning at a quarter of ability and I guess 3/4 of it is not going to work and canot be reversed. Nevertheless we will do what we can for FatBoy.

Mera The Lucky Kitty
Here I am relaxing in bed. Don't I look great?Mera@cat_aunty went to the vet for some dental work. The vet said he had NO cavities. THAT is one lucky kitty in my book as he is getting on in years. He also had a clean bill of health from the last blood test that she took of him.
He had inflamed gums though and they had been giving him a lot of grief. They bleed spontaneously and so he had to have some work done on them. The great shock was that he had hyperplasia, two growths next to his airways which may grow but the vet did not want to remove them as this may lead to severe blood loss and they may come back again!
He has 10 days of antibiotics and prednisolone for the swellings. Other than that, he is a little fed up of being cooped up :) Behave lah Mera! Life would be so much better for you.
