Oh Tanaka!

Tanaka went to see Dr Lalani yesterday as he had an issue with his hind leg. He had landed badly a month ago but I thought since he was not limping, his leg was better. Not so...

Dr Lalani encouraged him to walk (using his leash which I brought) and did not see a limp but when he felt his muscles there was a ropiness in his left leg thigh which meant a great deal of tension. He also had a tightness in his middle rib cage. He might have hit against the edge of the cupboard when he tried to jump on it or when he was playing with Bujang and tried to escape by jumping to the top of the night cages which he does often.

So Dr Lalani had massaged his left leg and his rib cage to lessen the tension. I think this would explain why Tanaka was not jumping in the usual way with his toys.  He would usually do many twists and high jumps to catch the lure.

I was advised to massage his leg as well at home and bring him back in two weeks.

I am glad I brought him to see Dr Lalani anyway eventhough his leg seemed to have healed as if not I would not know about his mid riff at all.

This morning he was a little unsteady when he wanted to jump off my headboard onto the next cupboard. Usually he could just sail to the top.
