About US

Bujang came one rainy afternoon on 18 Oct 04. He was a scared 4 week old kitten who fought bravely. He drank his milk and ate all his vitamins and grew up big, strong and steady. Ms Akira came from the SPCA on 20 Feb 05. She was about 2 months. She was a diva then and a diva now. Her favourite cat is her bruffer Bujang. Totoro (or Toro for short and TunaBelly for laughs), came here on 1 Mar 06 at 1.5 years old. He is goofy and gentle and loves to have his fur brushed. I rescued Megat from a dark cockroach-infested carpark on 13 Dec 06. He was already more than 10 years old. He had bad teeth, cataracts and FIV. Now he has 1 canine, some bluriness in his eyes and is a cancer (lymphoma) survivor for 3 years already (as of May 2011). He is very loving towards his humans, loves warm cushions and warm hearts. Rocket Tanaka is named after the celebrity chef Jun Tanaka. He was a Deepavalli blessing on 18 Nov 07, at 2 months. He eats much and sleeps even more but he is a sportskitty at heart. He thinks he is The Boss and behaves like one. I am blessed to have them all.

His kidneys are all clear and his indictaors even for his liver is good. His PCV is 36% (Hurrah) and his TP is 8.2 (not so good)

H/w Dr Ly found a lump in his inner right thigh but he said it could just be a lymph and not to worry.

Our nect appt is in 2 months on 21/1 to see about the state of the lump.

We started again on our regular schedule of meds as our experiment did not go as well as we expected. Details on megat's blog

Will begin a new routine as Megat has no liver nor kidney problems (from his blood test on 7/6)
1 day Sub Q (as usual done on Monday)
3 days suppositories + liquid sang hwang (Tue/Thur/Fri)
4 days rest (Wed/Sat/Sun)

Jun 07 2011: Dr Ly at Balestier
Megat still in remission and looking well. Dr L said that his coat is excellent but he is a little FAT. Medications are still the same:
Medications 5 days week.
1. 2 ml of collidal silver
2. 0.8 ml of sang hwang liquid extract 6.5L
3. 1 sang hwang suppository
4. Nature's Sunshine FOUR for asthma

5. Immunity and Liver Support
6. Kidney Support
7. Runipoo Relief
8. Amazapet for asthma
9. KC Defense for asthma
Blood test: Normal liver and kidneys

US (Dr Sabine): Left kidney stable, right kidney dilation less at 4.6 from 5.2. More stones in right kidney, 2 stones increased from 5 mm to 6mm. All other organs clear. Review in 6 months.
Dr Ly gave him a new pill to try to dissolve stones - Its a Urinary Acidifier. Advice: US in 2 months to see if stones smaller. Also a test to see if he has struvite or oxalate as no definite test can be carried out either way.

FIV/FeLV negative

A few kidney stones were smaller.
The 6 mm crystal is now 4 mm; the 5.3 crystal is now 2 mm the other smaller crystals are stable.
H/w the 8.8 mm crystal is now 8.9!!
Both Kidneys no longer swollen
NO SURGERY
The next US test is 6 months from now.
The blood test will follow although we have an appt for July.

Only change in meds are petslive meds to date

Additional Change
Urinary Support from Only Natural Pet. It had good reviews and so we are trying this out.

Our Community Cats

Our first community cats aka Wild Bunch was a group of 4 - Callie, FatBoy, Minah and Putih. Callie died of ataxia after about 1.5 weeks of hospitalisation. It was a painful affair for her even though she was under palliative care. FatBoy died of kidney failure. He was an old cat and we did all we could for him from shelter to medicines. We even tried growth hormones! Now out of the original 4, we only have Minah and Putih - both healthy although Minah will be 7 years old this year, like my cat Bujang. the new cats Tiger and Jeffrey Boy are not really the Wild Bunch but we feed them every evening. They have a caregiver M but we feed them anyway as they are community cats.

We are blessed to have known these kitties and know that they are now running free.

Callie (091108) She died of Ataxia. It was rumoured she was Minah's mother. She was a calm community cat.

B's Mom (251108) She had an accident at the carpark where she stayed. she was small and petite, unlike my Tuxie Bujang. She was his mother and she had many kittens but was too wily to be caught.

Awang (050411) He was sister S's cat and he died of FIV and renal failure.

FatBoy (240810) He died of renal failure and was a gangster when he was younger but he loved scritches and midnight snacks.

Minah (141011) She died of renal failure. She was our pretty community cat that everyone loved and looked out for.
