Look-out

Bujang on the look-out for birdies. He could hear the noise but not see them as the pigens would be cooing outside of the flat above ours :)

Bujang has been doing a very good job of looking out for us in the house :) He maintains his dignity at all times (read - bite us if we try to pet him) and makes sure that each and every one of us is safe. He has decided only last week that he would sleep on top of Akira's cage at night (he had always slept with me eversince he came to live with us) and he waited for grandma and her helper to be in the bedroom before he enters her room to rest. He would also sit near the cat seat that overlooks the corridor and sometimes meow. I guess he is telling the neighbours to go home and stop walking infront of our house :)

But yesterday he made no noise at all at night and came down from his perch to sleep with me. Throughout the whole time that hewas in the bedroom, he kep absolutely quiet. This quite unnerved and worried me quite abit as it was so unlike him. I wonder if he would be the same tonight.

Meditations of Rainbow Bridge

When a beloved animal companion dies, many believe that they go to heaven or the bridge. I too think it must be this way and heaven is the one and only place for  companion animals and all animal alike. I cannot conceive of any other resting place for them.

I thought it would be interesting to write an entry about Totoro from Fern. Please reserve judgement :))

On the 7th day of his passing Fern has this to say:
Spoke to Totoro just now. He said he is peaceful where he is. Its a huge place and quiet. Asked him about making friends thus he learns new things. He understands but not quite keen. He smiled as he likes the jasmine pot where his ashes are kept. He said he just visited all of you the past few days. He is glad Bujang misses him. He still feels at home there. But each time he doesn't stay long. He just wants to see how everyone is.

Yesterday Fern spoke to him again and today I have this message:
Talked to Toro. He said it is ok there but he just preferred watching others run and play. Told him you missed him a lot and still talked about him and laughed because he is still so loved. He looked shy and smiled a bit and softly scratched his cheek and licked his front leg.

It  is not for me to say what gifts and talents  other people may have :) and even grandma tells me I must be quite crazy. It still makes me smile as it is really very much like Toro to just sit and stare and enjoy the breeze. I have not made up my mind either way but I think the bridge would be exactly like this - a place where he would be comfortable and just do his own thing :))

PS: I didn't pay Fern for this at all. I think she just likes Toro. She knew him for a very short time, hardly a month even.

Twosome Tuesday

Yup. san and I took a short walk along our corridor. So that is two offur us. I do not much like walking here as there is nothing to see, not much anyway. san planted the flowers so we could have butterflies and birds and I am glad to report that we are seeing a few of the already :). But I told her that she should plant grass! Grass is what I want to eat.
The only interesting thing is now you can see three of us..which is better as now we have a Threesome Tuesday post :) My little sister, me and of course san. Ms Akira watched me from inside her room. I think she has a good view of all the colours along the corridor which makes it better for her. But still san, GRASS is the way to go I think.

Boys on Monday

 Really? More pictures!
 I am doing Easy Monday...
A little more please..ahhhhh...that's right

The boys were taking time off today- each at their own spaces. Bujang has taken over the spot that used to belong to Tanaka before the green steps, then Toro after the green steps. He sleeps here for part of the night as well, probably then he could see what is going on at all times.

The jasmine plant with Toro's ashes in it...

Even this plant is doing well with new leaves sprouting. I have moved it to a much more sunny position along the corridor and the boys can see the plant as it is now directly infront of their window. The jasmine fragrance also wafts in more directly into the house. So I guess even Toro is doing well in spirit.

Not So Sleepy Sunday

Ca we take a walk san?
and so we did. Bujang ate grass and before we knew it...we had an observer!
A little tabby was watching us from the 2nd floor...
It was Comot- a pet cat that was also an outside cat. He is  friendly guy and has a silver collar. But his person lets him out all day and sometimes all night as well. It could be dangerous for the little fella but the residents know him by sight and leave him alone to hang out.
He is also curious and came close to Bujang. Bujang was quite relaxed in his carrier and didn't hiss but I do not know what will happen if Comot decides to come close when Bujang is out of his carrier though. It was quite an eventful Sunday for the three of us.

Ms Akira on Friday

Hanging out with san at the computer...
The faint fuzz of fur is quite apparent on her thigh and
inner legs as well.

Tomorrow would be on month that Ms Akira is on Ovarid. Next week she would be taking it twice a week instead of every alternate day. She is also much calmer as well. We will be seeing Dr Ly in November for a review.

Just Because

This is one of the last pictures I took of Toro (1st Sept 2012)  before he went for his ultra sound and then of course his operation. I thought it would be a good reminder of what he looked like before all those hospital photos.

Here, he was minding his own business, away from the fray. He was a cat that "didn't know how to play with others." (his own words to fern). I just thought that with the hospital pictures and his old pictures that I had put up, I should also put up the last pic I had of him when he looked very well before his operation.

I would like to make a note here about my conversations with Fern, the animal communicator regarding Toro. I read that animals know when their time comes, especially when it is from a long illness. Although he was not "ill" as such, Toro told Fern on the 15th that he wanted to say goodbye to me. We were both with him at hospital then. I did tell him when he was with me at home on the 14th, that if he was tired and didn't feel that he could make it, as he was breathing very hard, he could go and he didn't have to think about us.

We are still a quiet house. However the amigos behave normally much sooner than the humans. Tanaka is up to his old tricks and has taken over Toro's couch. When he was trying to not harass Akira, he had decided to make friends with Toro and had sat with him and beside him just like in the picture:).

Bujang walks into empty rooms much less. He is also much calmer although he does spend a lot of time looking out of the corridor as though waiting for Toro to appear.

I say good morning and hello to Toro every time I pass the jasmine pot which comforts me enormously :) The linked-in app also reminds me too much of Toro in happier times and I had thought of disabling it but decided against such a thing :)

I trust that Toro's spirit is in a healthier place and I can see him just lazing about enjoying the breeze where he is.

Livestrong!

This is me on san's chest. She does this evry tme I have the sang hwang lingzhi suppository. The lingzhi helps me to be clear of the Big C. She gives me the suppository every weekday (if she can make it) or these days as san is busy in school, she manages every alternate day. It is quite uncomfotable and I know when its time as she dons a glove. I usually make a fuss but it take sonly a minute. After that san cuddles me on her chest so I do not get rid of the suppository by going to the toilet for the Big P.

It is a game  we both play :) I wish everyone to Livestrong!

Saturday Surprise

Our package from Lithuania (!) came yesterday. I had bought some stuff for the amigos 2 months ago and we were eager to see what they actually looked like.
WOW! They looked like real caves! (not that we have seen or been to many in Singapore). These cat beds come in 3 sizes. The purple is for large cats aka Bujang. The green one is S for Ms Akira.

As usual, intrepid kitty Tanaka got the idea pretty quick :)  To date only Tanaka The Fearless had the courage to get in the purple one. Ms Akira, being adventurous herself, had used her green one but as usual, she prefers her blanket.

Too True! I am Tanaka the Fearless. My heart is as big as my courage and nuffing frightens me!
