Who dat cat?

A very curious and fat kitty was very interested in our progress..

Bujang was oblivious and continued to eat grass right under the kitty's nose!

On Tuesday evenng I brought Bujang downstairs for his evening walk. He has been walking everyday for a whole week except today as it rained the whole day. Last Tuesday, he walked more than any other day because I didn't bring him to his Ixora Park but rather we went to the patch of grass right beisde our flat. He walked continuously for a whole 45 minutes and for some of that time, we were under very close scrutiny from a fat tux and his very small calico sidekick Posted by Picasa

Welcome Sleepy sunday...

Toro getting 1st dibs at the corrdor cat seat...

What is san doing outside...hmmm...
Toro was first up at the corridor cat seat this morning as soon as I opened the door to water the plants. Bujang usually sits here to wait for his share of cat grass every morning but it is good to see Toro being able to get what he wants when he wants. he would usually have to wait in line after Bujang and if he is not fast enough, then after Tanaka.

Eating grass on Sunday

Our new batch of grass...they look crunchy and juicy...

Yummy...

Its nice and crunchy too...
I planted the boys and one girl a new batch of grass as only Bujang gets to eat grass in the park when I bring him for his walk. The boys and Ms Akira like grass and I try to give them a few blades every morning. Bujang always waits for me to give him the grass right after I water the plants. Sometimes he makes a vocal request :)

Community Cat at the Ixora Park

Resting and eating biscuits on saturday evening...
This community cat lives about here I guess as she will always be here when we are here. She is very pretty with a mixture of russet, browns and golden shades. i suspect she may have been the daughter of a previous tortoiseshell with the same colours. i have not seen that cat for along time though.

1st Meeting...

Bujang sat very calmly watching the community cat...

They have seen each other before several times and she is a very friendly kitty who is always curious about us. She had come to investigate us before several times so eventhough she was a little nervous of nosy Bujang, she just sat calmly just for a few minutes after which she got bored and left. Bujang just sat there for a while longer watching the other happenings in the park.
This is actually the first time they actually sat togther as at other times, she would just follow Bujang about and he would a little nervous of her. She is very healthy and ate some biscuits.

Park Adventures

Bujang in the ixora park...

He was rather nervous to begin with as it was a long time ago that we last went here. Once he got out of his carrier, he made a beeline for this very small clearing and investigated the bushes looking for good grass. There was one or two which he munched. he kept looking up at the flats as there was alot of noise going on upstairs. Then he sat under the bushes to look at the view. he did not get much exercise this evening.

Then as he was busy sniffing at columns, Billy Boy came to visit us. Billy Boy has taken Cal's usual place. I took some close up shots of him and was quite surprised that he let me as he would only eat with Cousin R. then as though he was on the clock, he raced up the steps into one of the blocks. the auntie tells me that he lives in that block of flats too.

Billy Boy...the newest addition to the WildBunch...

Billy Boy (Cousin R named him) is not strictly a community cat. He has a home but eats someplace else like someone in a moveable feast. He is now fat and healthy and I would like to think it was thanks to us that he is this way. His family does not feed him, allowing him to roam freely. He used to be really thin and he also had sores but now no more. Since he has a family, I didn't think it would be right to collar him. I don't really want his 'family' to look for me...in case they object to it.

Bujang in the park

It took me a whole hour to figure out how to do this from my camera. Its of Bujang in the park, scutinising the so-called gateway to the blocks. I think he smelled all manner of cats and dogs too. He was very relaxed here as it is his favourite park. He began very nervously, looking at people from behind bushes and stayed in that space for a long time. But the park was quiet and we only saw 3 dogs, 2 on leashes and one unleashed. the dogs were minding their own business so Bujang was not worried. he merely lay low and watched them.

Finally Friday

FatBoy and Minah after breakfast...
This morning both fatBoy and Minah asked for breakfast at about 8.20 am. I gave Minah her share of orijen and before she ate her share, Fatboy asked me for his. She gave him a piece of her mind and I told FatBoy that he should wait as he was in her territory. He ate quite a lot of Orijen before he suddenly stood still and then darted away. I think he heard the call of his morning breakfast. He raced across the carpark without a care! Thank goodness there were no cars dropping off students and the like.
By the time I came back to Minah she had finished her Orijen and so I gave her some more. Then a woman came by to feed her breakfast but as she saw me, she didn't give Minah anymore. She darted away so fast that I didn't have time to chat with her at all which was a pity.
Note about Orijen: Both Minah and FatBoy like it. I gave Minah a choice once between Nutro salmon (which she used to eat) and Orijen and she made an organic choice :))

Evening walk

Bujang- all 7.75 kg of him taking an evening walk...

He perambulated the tree and ate grass rather enthusiastically...

To eat or not to eat...
I brought Bujang for a short walk after dinner. He was very noisy in the lift as I think he remembered the last time he was in his carrier and that was the trip to the vet. MIAOWERRRR...on and on. But once he was downstairs, he got out and walked immediately towards the grass patch and the big tree. He circled around it once or twice and then decided to munch on grass. i did think to stop him as I was worried that the workers might have sprayed insecticide on it but I figured that he would not eat it if that was so.
I have not brought him to his favourite park as I was worried he would eat the grass there as I had seen workers spraying the shrubs with insecticide. That was why I decided to grow him his own patch of grass but he needs the exercise and so do I.
We did not stay long as Bujang got spooked by the loud banging and crashing from the contractors who were renovating a flat. he immediately pulled on his leash and me and sat behind one of the columns at the void deck. After a few minutes of trying to persuade him that all was well, I gave up and we made our way home. Poor thing Bujang. he was so enjoying his walk too.
I am having some trouble justifying this text so I am leaving it centralised this way :(
