Thotful Tuesday

Here I am waiting for san to bring in the medicines for my bruffers. I like watching them eat their medicines...as long as I don't have to eat any!

I am thinking of my Gotcha Day on Thursday. san and I will be having the same Gotcha Day. Maybe _this_time she would give me cake as well as treats!!

I like the sun rays on my skin. I can sit here all afternoon. Sometimes san asks me if I feel too hot as when she holds me for medicine, she always says, "Aiyah kitty! How can you sit here? You are so hot!" But cats like sunshine! I try to tell her but she always says the same thing. Sometimes san is very forgetful...worse than me!
I do not like the medicine san gives me. I know she would give me the medicine every time she comes in with Cousin R. I would run and hide in the cat tree hiding place. I was very clever this evening and managed to get away. I only had a little of it. The rest went to feed the curtains. But I must say that she did have some successes last week. So we are even in this.
san says the hair on my legs are not growing and that I should stop over - grooming myself. I will think about that! I make no promises.
I managed to persuade san to take me down this evening. We walked for about 45 minutes and I got bitten by a red ant. THAT was not very pleasant. Other than that it was a quiet time that I had with san.

Easy Peasy Sunday

The boys just hanging out on Sunday...

This Sunday was bright and shiny. It did threaten to rain for a bit and the thnder scared Bujang and Toro. megat napped through it and Tanaka was quite unconcerned. I do not know when Bujang started being afraid of thunder. He used to just start a little but didn't run but now he would find a place to hide.

Super Saturday

sniff...sniff...
sniffff...sniffff...hmmm

I thought before I go out to high tea, I should take Bujang downstairs for a walk. Nowadays the weather is very uncertain and sometimes it would rain quite suddenly in the evenings. Bujang spent quite bit of time sniffing the base of this tree and we went round and round. Maybe its because there is another community cat in the area - a very young one. I saw her once last week. She was quite thin though but at least she was sterilised.
Oh well....
Buajng seems very big compared to my foot :)

An aside:

san wants me, Bujang, to tell Katie's mom that she took many months to teach me to use the leash. She trained me when I was just 6 weeks old. I didn't like the grass the first time I put my foot on it, ok two feet at any one time. Now I like being outside and would tell san loudly when it is time to go out, like after dinner. Toro does not like the harness and Megat does not care to be outside. My sisfur Akira can walk very well but she is a little afraid. Only Tanaka is like me. We both like using the harness as we cn go outside. san bought us the walking jackets as we had tried several times to escapr from the harness though. san taught Toro when he came to live with us, at 1.5 years old. He was the slowest to learn. Akira learnt when he was about 7 months and Tanaka when he was about 2 months as san gotche dhim when he was just about 8 weeks old.

TGIF

Is it Friday already? Every day is Friday san don't you know?

Except for the occasional bout of coughing Megat takes life easily:) Of course he takes every chance of beating up Toro. But Bujang and him have been having a lot of fun playing tag, with him running after Bujang of course, not the other way round.

Where are you going Bujang?
Ms Akira likes sitting here by the open window. She is so quiet that not many people realise she is there and she is able to hide herself if she is afraid.

Bujang had a good time at the grass patch in between our 2 flats. This is where the grass grows longest. I think the grass mower people could not be bothered to remove the branches that were there and so mowed around them. He likes hiding here thinking that no one can see him:)

Bujang enjoying the early afternoon.

We are lucky not many people walk here at all and students do not hang around in this patch. Also no one plays football here. I do not know why as this patch is bigger than the one with the footballers. But I am grateful as it is always quiet and we would see at most one or two people walking their dogs.

This is Toro's favourite place for an afternoon nap...away from the crowd.

Thankful Tuesday @cat_aunty

We are thankful that Hat is feeling fine and looking so much better.
His paw is now recovered. It looked very frightening the first time we saw it after the vet had removed the rubber band! Now it is looking plump and well.

On a lighter note, Barley has decided to show us her pretty blue eyes. She is very beautiful.

Ms Akira's Gotcha Day

Today Ms Akira is 7 years old. Hurray!!
I don't feel 7 san. Are you sure? What are we going to do today?
Ms Akira spent a good deal of the time with The Butterflier. She is very good at it!
It was a good Gotcha day except when I had to eat the pill! YUCK!!

We tried to pill her but failed miserably. I ended up with a shredded shirt and a very angry kitty! Then I remembered Ginger Jasper's advice about giving her the crushed pill in some water. So I added a good measure of honeyed water to the crushed pill and put it all in a syringe. It was surprisingly easy from then on. Ms Akira has already forgiven me and is sitting on my lap as usual. Maybe tomorrow I would give her the pill in some Appelin as she has not been eating well these few days. The Appelin is sweet and so would disguise the taste of the clomicalm and she would eat more of her food to boot. It is true though that the clomicalm is rather bitter. I tried some of it and just like Ms Akira I must agree- YUCK!

Easy Peasy Sunday

Ms akira watching the world on sunday morning...
Ms Akira: This is so much better...

PS I have not yet managed to give her the clomicalm. I tied disguiding it with gravy from her canned food but she just sniffed at it and moved away. She doesn't like butter. I tried to get her to lick the butter from my fingers or from the spoon. She was totally not interested. Later on I will just have to brave it and pill her with the pill popper. Tomorrow I will ask Cousin R to help me with it.

I had tried the Bach Rescue but it didn't work so well with the over-grooming, also the Pet Calm from petsalive . Yesterday when we came home from the vet's she was quite calm and she had a nap. I don't know if this was the effect of the clomicalm though or maybe she was just exhausted from the trip. The vet said I could bring her to the clinic everyday and they would pill her but that would be very stressful on everyone. But as a last resort, we may have to do that.

Ms Akira and the vet visit

after the vet...

I brought Ms Akira to the vet to ask about him over -grooming again. Dr T said it was overgrooming and the pattern of the baldness does not indicate that she has any hormonal deficiency. The Depredil that D H gave her before is an anti-inflammatory and an extended use could give her diabetes and so would Overid (a steroid for hormones). So Dr T said I should try to persuade her to eat the clomacalm- an anti-depressent to make her calmer and less stressed. The side effects of clomacalm is not as serious as the rest of the alternatives it seems.

So he advised me to make the pill into a powder and mix it with some butter or honey as she is not easy to pill. I will try it tomorrow as Dr T had given her the clomacalm this morning. We shall see how this goes.

We Wonder Who Wednesday

I am _not_who! I am Barley!

Barley@cat-aunty is looking pretty fine. She has grown up beautiful and sleek. Of course she also has blue eyes that she is not letting us see today :) Her sweet affectionate nature shines through in all she does to the disgust of Empress Spencer.

Happy Valentine's Day

This afternoon san came home and we spent the time together. It was pretty hot and so san had the cool air in the room but I got a little cold and so spent the time on san's lap. It was warm and cool at the same time then I got a nap also.

san says she has no grand plans to spend the day outside of our home. This is a good plan as the she would stay home with us and we can watch videos and eat treats. :) Happy Valentine's Day everybuddy.

Monday Sleeps

...on a hot day, this is the only thing to do.

Thursday, February 09, 2012

Its too hot!

even for a kitty!

On days like this I like to sleep in Ms Akira's cage where it is cool and private! Actually we are all under cover. We hear from the Chans that England is still steeped in snow. Although we don't want snow, we are all looking forward to cooler months.

Huh? What did you say san? March is the hottest month in the year? How can anything be hotter than this?

Many Thanks Monday

Really?

We are really thankful for many fings. First we thank san fur the Butterflier Cat Dancer, our now favourite toy. Then we fank san fur our new water fountain which came all the way from the US of A. I have not drunk from it but this morning san saw Megat drinking from under the falling water! Although Ms Akira has continued to re-groom her self again, san finks it is good that Ms Akira is her lap cat (cos we boys dun do that...no siree). san will be going back to the doctor to see if there is nother cause like hormones!

Furry impawtantly, san is thankful that our good friend cat_aunty is okay and that Hat is doing furry well. His paw is healing nicely.

All in all, we are having a furry thankful Monday :))

Sunny Sunday

Sunday morning began softly. san sat with me for some alone-time. I like being here in the mornings to see the birdies from the flat across. Then she showed me the new toy she bought for us. It was a pink butterfly.
It flew like the real thing...at least san told me so. I have never seen a butterfly outside , even at my window. But this was quite fun. san told me my bruffers also liked it...

Here Toro was trying to hynotise it. It didn't work very well.
So he pounced on it and caught it. He did better that time!
Tanaka also did very well (although I hate to say it!)

Here Tanaka was also trying to hynotise it. I think boys are not very smart! But the buterfly was getting very ragged already..hehe

Bujang was very good at playing catching the butterfly. He caught it very neatly.

The butterfly as you can see has lost some of its wings. san tried to look for the pieces but she could not find any. I told her its in our stomachs! But we didn't mind. san has two more and I think we would be having a 'flying' time these few weeks.

Note from san

I bought these butterflies from the same company http://www.mythreecats.com/ that sent me the package for the steel water fountain. They are called Butterflier Dancer Cat Toy :) I also managed to get my water fountain the second time round after many calls to the post office! But I had to change the motor for one that we can use. It was a matter of voltage. I could use a converter but it was unstable. I will put up some pics of that quite magificent water fountain but only Ms Akira and Toro had drunk from it :) The others were too afraid of the falling water :)
